VERONICA POV 52

"John?!" I uttered,confusedly.

I couldn't believe seeing him in front of me. He smiled at me and greeted me. My mind was confused why he suddenly appeared in front of me. But before I could ask him, I listened to what the doctor said about my mother's condition.

"She needs to undergo Chemotherapy, '' Ms. Smith ''the Doctor said.

"Isn't that risky? Can I be sure that Mom will really recover?" I asked.

"Unfortunately I can't give you an assurance but I will do my best to make it successful,Ms.Smith"the doctor answered with a smile.

"Ahm, If that's the only way for mom to get better. I'm ready to gamble a second time, Doc" I said seriously.

The Doctor smiled sparingly and said goodbye.

When he left the room, John and I were left with Mom who was still sleeping. We looked at each other and I immediately asked him how he had been here.It's been a long time since we haven't seen each other.

"Your secretary said you can't go to the meeting because of what happened to your mom.
