Kai,

It’s graduation day for Stella and the gang. I haven’t seen her since the time she came to the hospital, so I want to surprise her today at her graduation. She hasn’t told me where she’s going to college yet, but the sky’s the limit with a full ride. That makes me so proud of her and wherever she goes to college, I will still be there with her. We will figure our relationship.

“Kai bro, you ready?” Gage asks, coming into my apartment. Luckily, the apartment is on the first floor, so it helps to get in and out with the cane. I’ve done pretty good with the cane that the therapist says I will probably walk without it in a month are two.

“Yea, let’s hit the road. Stella doesn’t know I’m coming, right?”

“No, she still thinks you’re mad at her and never want to see her again. Gage snaps.”

“Where are you going?” Gage asks.

“My truck,” I tell him.

“No, you’re not. You can’t drive, Gage says.”

“The fuck I can’t. I say and move on to my truck and get in.”
