Chapter 62

Roman's POV

The car door shuts with a soft thud behind her, and for a moment the sound seems to echo through the tinted interior like a sealed fate.

India slides into the leather seat beside me, her fingers trembling as she tucks a curl of hair behind her ear, pretending not to notice how her breathing skips.

She’s shaken, though she’s trying very hard not to show it. I can practically feel fear rolling off her skin in waves, thin, bitter, fragile.

I settle into my side, let the leather cradle my spine, and gesture silently for the driver to start the engine. The hum is low, soothing, but the tension in the air doesn’t soften.

India folds her arms defensively, hugging herself as if she could squeeze her heart into stillness.

Funny.

Moments ago, she was firing back like she’d grown teeth overnight. The fire in her voice had surprised me… and amused me.

Now? Her eyes darted toward the street, body tight, shoulders pulled forward.

Like prey listening for footstep

  • Until I Wrote Him    Forever Never Felt So Blissful

Chapter 110India’s POVIt was officially a week since I walked out on Roman in his office.I didn’t know what Kelly was plotting. In hindsight, that should have been my first clue that something was wrong or right.Kelly plotting was different from Kelly spiraling. There was a sharpness to her eyes again, a focus that had nothing to do with survival and everything to do with intention. She moved through my apartment with purpose, phone constantly buzzing, scribbling notes, whispering to herself like she was directing an invisible orchestra.“You’re smiling,” I told her one afternoon, watching her pace the living room. She stopped mid-step. “Am I?”“Yes,” I said flatly. “Which is suspicious.”She smiled wider. “Maybe I’m just happy.”“Kelly.”She waved me off. “Don’t interrogate a pregnant woman. It’s bad karma.”I narrowed my eyes. “You’re scheming.”“I’m organizing,” she corrected. “There’s a difference.”I should have pushed harder. But life had been calmer. Quiet in a way that f

Chapter 109India’s POVThe first thing I noticed wasn’t dramatic. It wasn’t vomiting or tears or some movie-perfect moment of realization. It was the way Kelly flinched when she took off her bra.We were getting ready for bed, if you could call collapsing onto opposite sides of my apartment “getting ready.” The living room light was dim, the city outside reduced to a low hum, and Kelly stood near the bathroom door, wincing as she unclasped.“Everything okay?” I asked, absently scrolling through my phone. She nodded too quickly. “Yeah. Just sore.”I looked up.“Sore how?”She shrugged, avoiding my eyes. “Just… sensitive. Probably stress.”Stress.The universal excuse for everything that didn’t want to be examined too closely.I didn’t push. Not then. But my brain filed it away. The second thing was the nausea.Kelly had always been iron-stomached. She was the woman who could down espresso on an empty stomach and still argue coherently about tax policy. The woman who once ate street

  • Until I Wrote Him    Battle I Intended To Win

Chapter 108Roman’s POVRussia greeted me with steel skies and colder silences.I came here to do business. After surviving, I had to get my head back into the game.Moscow always did that, welcoming you like a challenge instead of a city. Grey stretched endlessly above the skyline, concrete and glass rising with unapologetic authority. Power lived here. Not the loud, flashy kind, but the kind that sat quietly in rooms and decided who survived the next decade.I should’ve felt grounded.Instead, everything felt… hollow. The car rolled through the gates of Kristov Volkov’s compound just outside the city, tires crunching over gravel, armed guards nodding us through with familiar precision. This was old ground for me. Familiar territory. Deals made here reshaped markets, rerouted billions, and buried ghosts.Normally, I thrived on it.Today, my mind kept drifting, unwanted, persistent.India’s eyes. The way they’d gone cold instead of loud. The way she’d flinched when I said I loved he

  • Until I Wrote Him    Not Her No More!

Chapter 107India’s POVI don’t remember how I left Roman’s building.I remember the elevator doors closing.I remember the mirror, my face pale, eyes too bright, lips pressed together like they were the only thing holding me upright.I remember breathing like it was something I had to relearn.In.Out.Don’t fall apart here.By the time the car pulled away from the curb, the city blurred into color and motion, and my chest finally caved in on itself.I pressed my forehead to the cool glass and let the tears come, silent, furious, relentless. The kind that didn’t ask permission. The kind that felt like grief tearing its way out through my ribs.I hadn’t screamed.I hadn’t thrown anything.I hadn’t even said the things burning my tongue.I’d just… left. And somehow that felt worse. The office lights were already on when I arrived, the familiar hum of productivity buzzing around me like a cruel joke. My world had just imploded, and everyone else was still replying to emails, still arg

  • Until I Wrote Him    Clueless

Chapter 106Roman’s POVThe moment the door opened, my life split into before and after.India.Her name thundered through me like a prayer I was too late to say.I shoved Harper away so hard she stumbled back a step, my hands burning as if her skin had scalded me. The space between us felt poisoned now contaminated by the exact second India walked in and saw the worst possible version of the truth.“India, wait…” I took a step toward her, panic clawing up my throat. “This is not what it looks like.”God, I hated those words the instant they left my mouth. They sounded weak. Clichéd. Like every lie ever told by men who deserved to lose the women they loved. But I wasn’t lying. Not about this.Harper laughed softly behind me.That sound snapped something feral loose in my chest.I turned on her, voice lethal. “Get out.”She blinked, feigning innocence. “Roman, relax…”“Now.”India’s hand rose between us like a blade.“Don’t,” she said quietly. One word. Final. Devastating.I froz

  • Until I Wrote Him    Shattered!

Chapter 105India’s POVMorning didn’t feel fragile anymore. It felt… possible.Guillermo’s small hand was warm in mine as we walked up the steps of his school, his backpack bouncing against his spine with every reluctant step. His lower lip trembled, eyes glossy, still shaken from everything that had happened to his mother.Roman told him last night and as a kid, he was worried sick.“I don’t want to go,” he said softly.“I know, Guille.” I crouched in front of him, smoothing his hair back. “But you’re very brave. And brave boys get rewards.”His eyes narrowed suspiciously. “What kind?”“An irresponsible amount of candy,” I whispered. “The kind your mom would pretend not to notice.”That earned me a smile. A small one but real.“And no tantrums?” I added. He nodded solemnly. “Promise.”I kissed his forehead and watched him disappear into the building, my chest tightening and loosening all at once.Alive.Rory was alive. Guillermo was safe. Roman had finally told me the truth. And
