Lilith's POV

I walked about the house aimlessly, bored, tired from doing absolutely nothing. I checked around the house hoping to see maybe one or two things I could do, like get myself occupied but it turns out I had completely done them all. I had binge watched all the movies on my list and now I had absolutely nothing to do.

“I think I'm just going to step out,” I said to myself underneath my breath and soon after I was out of the house dressed in a simple casual outfit a blue fitted jean, a body hug top and my hair packed up in a ponytail and of course with my dark shades.

Since I am new to the area , I might as well just try out new spots in the area. My gaze caught sight of the coffee cafe nearby. I hurried over there quickly.

The door bell chimed as I entered the cafe, the warm ambience was just right and perfect for me right now, the whole interior decor was just really beautiful. The bustling noise of the city didn't just lessen; it completely vanished, swallowed by the gentl

  • Until She Was Theirs   Chapter 24

Lilith’s POVI Did not mean for it to happen but one careless turn, one breath too close, and suddenly his lips were on mine. It was an accident. That is what I keep telling myself over and over again. But the memory did not feel like it was an accident. It felt deliberate the kind of moment that burned slow and deep, the kind you can not scrub off no matter how many times you try to convince yourself it was nothing. It isn't nothing. The taste of his breath still lingered a hint of coffee, something darker, familiar.I had stepped back first, pretending to laugh it off, saying something awkward and stupid like, “That was… unexpected.”He just looked at me that intense, unreadable gaze that made me forget how to breathe for a moment.I sat in my office, staring blankly at the presentation slides on my laptop. The numbers and words blurred together into meaningless shapes. I was supposed to be leading a negotiation that could lock in a huge partnership for the company. Instead, I was

  • Until She Was Theirs   Chapter 23

Nolan’s POVThe day had begun with the kind of restless energy I wasn't prepared for that clung to my skin like heat. Ever since Cassian blurted out that ridiculous challenge one that somehow managed to just involve me in it I had been walking around the office like a storm that's waiting to happen.A racing challenge. Of all the things.Cassian never thought twice before jumping into trouble, or taking some decisions it irked me most times but what truly got under my skin wasn’t his impulsiveness it was how easily he dragged me into this so called challenge which was obviously a trap. Cassian had a talent for attracting chaos, and this time it came dressed in the form of a street race, one that somehow spiraled into a contest of pride between him and Viper’s crew. Two teams, Police evasion, A finish line before time ran out. This is madness. And somehow, the thought of it the thrill of it stirred something I thought I had locked up for years.Still, the rest of the day was torture. • Until She Was Theirs   Chapter 22

Lilith POVI avoided the living room like it was cursed. After what happened last night, I am certain that I don't have the courage to look at Nolan without my body reminding me of that awkward, heat filled moment in my room. Every time I closed my eyes, all I saw was a picture of his face equally startled and breathless and I just wanted to bury myself alive. So, I did the what was the best thing, I hid.It was almost noon when Cassian barged into my room without even knocking, his usual annoying grin plastered all over his face.“Up, sunshine. Family meeting,” he said, tossing aside the comforter that was covering me.“I am not hungry Cassian,” I mumbled, pulling the cover over me.“I’m not asking if you are hungry,” he said, snatching the cover away. “I said family meeting.”“Cassian….”“Now.”Cassian was annoyingly good at being persuasive, mostly because he never gave you room to argue. By the time I got downstairs, he had already set up the table, Nolan sitting at the other end,

Lilith's POV Cassian continuously hissed over and over again as I pressed the cotton pad soaked in antiseptic against his cheek.“Go easy, Lilith,” he groaned dramatically. “ Are you trying to kill me twice in one night?”I rolled my eyes, ignoring him as I dabbed his cheek again. “You will definitely live. Besides, you brought this on yourself.”“That is very untrue,” he said, lifting his hand in defense. “I was just an innocent bystander who came to eat with his friends, how's that my fault?”“And you can't blame me just because women can’t resist me.”Across from him, Nolan let out a quiet scoff. “Innocent? You were obviously flirting with a taken woman. Her boyfriend showed up. What did you think was going to happen?” “That you guys would suddenly become besties?”Cassian pointed a finger at him. “Correction Nolan, she flirted with me. I just smiled back. Can’t punish a man for being polite.”I bit back a laugh I was trying to hold in as I cleaned a cut just above Nolan’s brow.

  • Until She Was Theirs   Chapter 20

Lilith's POV If anyone would have told me a few months ago that I would be having dinner with Nolan and Cassian on a Friday night after work instead of being with my husband, I would have laughed and said they needed a doctor. I was so sure of my marriage, sure of my company But there I was in an uptown restaurant, under dim golden lights, watching Nolan try to look relaxed when obviously his definition of “relaxed” was still painfully stiff. He had chosen the kind of restaurant that screamed quiet sophistication yet with slow jazz playing in the background, polished tables, waiters who walked like they were on the clouds. It fits him perfectly, a CEO. Every inch of him was composed, from his neatly ironed shirt to the watch on his wrist that looked like it could pay a regular civil servant's rent twice over.“I did not think this would actually happen tonight,” I teased, swirling the wine in my glass.Nolan’s lips twitched a micro-expression that most people would miss, but I’d know

  • Until She Was Theirs   Chapter 19

The room was dead silent, the kind of silence that only happens when something big happens. The light from the projector flickered out, and for a long moment, no one moved. Then, a loud applause roared in the room hesitant at first, then it kept on building until the entire conference room seemed to echo with it.I sat back on the chair, my hands folded neatly on the table, watching the faces around me as it shifted from surprise to admiration.“Unbelievable,” someone muttered. “We have been trying to get MorganTech for months. How did she?”I wore a small, polite smile, acting as though I did not hear the whispers that followed.“Ms. Lilith,” one of the senior partners said, his voice filled with that mix of approval and disbelief that always made me feel uneasy, “I must say that presentation was... remarkable. You have just secured us the biggest marketing contract of the quarter.”“Thank you, sir,” I replied smoothly. “It was all team effort.”It wasn’t obviously. After I had made
