Chapter 11 I'm Not Lacking in Taste

Sheldon, taken aback, awkwardly chuckled. "Oh, I hope not."

When they arrived at the office, Sheldon immediately dived into his work, leaving Yaslyn to spend yet another day in the security room.

On the third day, Yaslyn was to spend time with Henry Warren. Henry was a top-tier celebrity in the entertainment industry with tens of millions of fans. It was his birthday, marking his tenth anniversary in show business. He was far too busy to pay any attention to Yaslyn.

Awakening from a nap and heading downstairs, Yaslyn bumped into Zaylee. She smiled and said, "Yaslyn, we're planning to go shopping for some new clothes and to pick out a gift for Henry. Would you like to join us?"

"Sure."

After a moment's consideration, Yaslyn agreed and left with them. Zaylee ushered Yaslyn into a high-end women's clothing store when they arrived at the mall.

"Yaslyn, you're so beautiful. I bet you'd look amazing in a dress."

While the four men waited outside, Zaylee grabbed a deep green dress from the rack. "This one is nice. Why don't you give it a try?"

The style of the dress seemed a bit too mature for Yaslyn's liking. Upon seeing her hesitation, Zaylee picked out another. "How about this one?"

Yaslyn was somewhat taken aback. The dress was overly revealing. She promptly retorted, "Zaylee, if you dislike me, there's no need for these pretenses. I may come from the countryside, but I assure you, my taste is not inferior to yours."

"Yaslyn, have you misunderstood me?"

Despite her displeasure, Zaylee feigned innocence, attempting to appear pitiful. She had assumed that Yaslyn, coming from a rural area, would not understand fashion and would typically dress in plain t-shirts. However, she was proven wrong.

Yaslyn did not have the time to cater to Zaylee's feelings. She casually browsed through the store, choosing a few items she liked and instructing the staff to wrap them up. Suddenly, a sleek black card was passed to the cashier as she prepared to pay.

"Charge it."

It was Xoan. The cashier, taken aback by his good looks, hurriedly processed the payment.

"Thank you," Yaslyn acknowledged him curtly.

"Do not misunderstand me," Xoan responded indifferently. "Father instructed me to do so."

He promptly turned and left, leaving Yaslyn slightly puzzled. She had not said anything that required such a hurried clarification. Upon witnessing that, Zaylee's eyes flickered with a hint of malice.

Exiting the mall, the two bodyguards behind them could hardly hold the many shopping bags—a total expenditure of over three million.

As Marcus stood nearby, he dryly commented, "Some people truly don't hold back when spending others' money. It's no wonder she's from a small town. She has no manners whatsoever."

Clearly, Marcus held a grudge against Yaslyn's previous comment about his immaturity. Even though he was the youngest in the Warren family, he was already eighteen.

Before Yaslyn could respond, Zaylee intervened like an older sister scolding a younger brother. "Marcus, how could you say that? Yaslyn was just casually shopping."

"This is what you call casual shopping?"

Yaslyn scoffed, "Did you pay for all this, Marcus?"

Marcus's face stiffened. "That was my elder brother's money!"

"Exactly, it's his money. He hasn't complained, so why are you making a fuss?"

With that, Yaslyn stepped into the car. The others shared amused smiles. They had not expected Yaslyn to be so sharp-tongued, which made the situation quite entertaining.
