Evie's POV

The moment I broke free from the prison wall that held me bounded to a spot, I raced for the woods. The forest was one that didn't have many guards around. As a matter of fact, I didn't spot a single guard as I made my way through the thick and dense forest.

Of course, I could understand why little to no security was given to the place. There were too many rocks and hills and big trees that has large branches and deep roots situated around for any sane person to try to go over them.

Since I was trying to cross over them, I deemed myself as someone that was not in my right frame of mind either. How could I when I was trying to survive? When I was trying to fight for my life and my ultimate survival. I ignored the branch that slapped my thigh roughly as I climbed another form of hills. My breaths became raspy and shaky from too much climbing but I couldn't let that deter me.
