LOGINI started walking towards the high school. I had plenty of time. I was kind of lost in my own thoughts. Mostly, I was thinking about my family. My Mom, Clara, lives at the packhouse. She is an assistant to our Luna Mazie and holds a Delta rank. Mom likes to stay close in case the Luna needs her. Dad would be welcome to live with her as the head Epsilon, but he likes to be home with me. My younger brothers live with Mom. As a teenage girl, I am the only one that would not be allowed to live in the packhouse.
At 15, girls become unranked. Before that we are considered the rank of our parents, so I have been unranked for 2 years, 11 months and 13 days. I turn 18 in two short weeks. I don't expect to find that I have a wolf when I turn 18. I just kind of think that if I had a wolf, I would feel it. Besides, I have a plan and having a wolf isn't in the plan. I plan to finish school in two months and leave the pack. Technically, I can go to college and the pack will pay for my schooling and housing if I am unmated. The trade off is that females return to the pack lands each quarter for the Mates Dinner. It's basically a big party for all the unmated pack members to mingle and hopefully meet their fated mate. In our pack this is a huge deal for females to return since it is a second chance to find our wolf. I don't know that I want to return once I leave. Again, I don't think I have a wolf. But college is expensive and having the pack pay would be pretty nice, maybe the trade off would be worth it. If I do have a wolf, my plan is moot. I will be expected to mate and breed. A she-wolf's greatest contribution to the pack is making little wolves to strengthen the pack. Moonless Night is a medium sized pack. There are around 1,200 members. I have never really seen myself as a mate and mother. If I have a wolf, I will be introduced to every unmated male in our pack at the earliest opportunity. This is in the hope that my fated mate is a member of our pack. Moonless Night females rarely leave the pack if they have a wolf. A male wolf can reject a fated mate, but a she-wolf can not initiate a rejection. The last rejection in our pack happened so long ago that it's like a legend. The sounds of cars and teenagers talking around me got louder. I was close to school now. I hunched my shoulders trying to disappear as I headed up the stairs and into the building. Standing at my locker, I opened it and began prepping what I needed for my morning classes: Physics, Geometry, History and English. Once I had my morning stuff in my bag, I locked my locker and turned towards the stairs only to bump into something solid. "Sorry, sorry, sorry. I didn't...." I started to apologize but stopped speaking when I looked up to see it was Carson. Twice in one morning! What are the odds? "Hi Celia. I couldn't wait until English. I am assuming these are yours." He said as he handed me my shorts and socks, neatly folded. "Uhm, yeah. Thanks." I said, shoving them into my bag. "Sorry for crashing into you twice today." Carson smiled. "I don't mind. Feel free to crash into me anytime." He winked and started walking away. "WTF!!! Celia, what was that? How do you know Carson? And what did he mean 'crash into me anytime'? Did he wink at you?" I sighed heavily. "Morning Ang. I don't know. He is in my English class. I ran into him while running this morning and then again now. I am going to have bruises from it. And yes he winked at me, but I don't know why." Ang hooked her arm through mine and we both headed for the stairs. This was going to be a long morning. I hoped she would drop it, but I knew she wouldn't. We have 2 classes together in the morning and more in the afternoon. "I need details!" Ang said excitedly. "Can we just drop it and forget it happened?" I said rolling my eyes. "Hell no! That man is hot with a capital h! And he is winking at you and flirting. 'Crash into me anytime', she imitated Carson's husky voice. " I think he likes you." Ang giggled. "No. If anything he was worried that I was scared this morning when I crashed into him and he reports to my Dad, so he is probably just worried about his job." I tried to brush it off. "So you were far enough from town that you crashed into him while he was on patrol? What were you scared of? What happened? Oh! Better question! Did he shift in front of you? I definitely wouldn't mind getting an eye full of his hot bod as he shifted." Ang smiled and leered. "Goddess! Girl you need to get a grip. Yes, he's good looking, but all the warriors are! He's not interested in me though, he can't be." I said as we slid into our seats and the bell rang. I breathed in relief that Ang couldn't continue her barrage for at least 50 minutes now. Class flew by, mostly because I was dreading the questions Ang would have locked and loaded the minute the bell rang. We had a pop quiz, which was too easy for me, but everyone else in class groaned like the teacher was a sadist. During class, I thought about answering Ang's questions and decided that I needed to simply refuse. I took a deep breath in and tried to find my spine. I usually played along with Ang. But this time, no. The bell rang and immediately Ang was right beside me. We headed out the door on our way to our next class. "Where did you crash into Carson? Was it at the lake? Did he see you swimming? Do you swim naked? Did he see..." I held up my hand to stop her. "No Ang. Just no." I really didn't want to talk about it. I didn't want rumors starting and I didn't want to cause trouble for our Epsilons. If it wasn't common knowledge that humans were coming onto pack lands, I didn't want to be the one to let it get out. "Wow. You never tell me no." Ang said softly as we heard a snort behind us.Michael knocked on my open office door. "Carson, damn this office is small! How do you even function in here?" "I don't. I spend as little time as possible here." I grimaced. "I hate this office." "Why don't you share Colm's office? He has a huge space." Michael asked. "Because I was told this is the Gamma Minors office and I'm supposed to be here. What can I help you with Michael?" "Sorry. Sorry. I actually want to get a schedule of the girls' training sessions. I want to bring Dad to watch. I'm excited to get the program expanded." Michael said. "We don't have a set schedule. The girls want to have a session tomorrow, Thomas wasn't available tonight. I will talk to Celly and Ang and we will talk to Thomas and Derek. I'll get back to you with a schedule by tomorrow." "Thanks Carson." Michael left. "I hate this office." I said outloud. I stood up and walked out to the hall. I headed for the Luna office. 'We will check on Celly.' Eckley said. 'Like seeing our girl.' I smiled. '
I sat down in the chair across from Kane and Eve. "I focused on the four missing girls and some general information. It was probably wishful thinking to think we would only have four more girls to find. The auctions are quarterly on the new moon. The next auction was set for next month. The first girl we know of went missing eight months ago. I will need to ask about the previous auctions. I don't know that Stan is going to have much more to give us though. He doesn't seem like the type to remember details for too long." I sighed.Eve scooted forward on the couch. I watched Kane as he shifted closer to her. He might not realize it, but he had more feelings for her than he should for a one night stand. Eve said, "Stan might not have the details, but Allen will. You are going to need a computer person, a good one, that can do a forensic dig. Allen will have documents, bank info, names - legal names. I am sure they vetted buyers before allowing them into the auction. That would all be
I followed Eve as she dosed the prisoners. The guards nodded to me, some smiled, some said thank you. I nodded to each acknowledging them. When I got home, I would request a list of the Warriors that were here. I wanted to make certain that each of them was recognized for providing assistance, for answering a call to help without promise of reward. After Eve exited the last room, I smiled at her. The guilt I felt for having bruised her was still eating at me. I should have refused her advances. Lonnie had hinted she had an unpleasant past, I should have asked questions. I didn't pity her, but I felt like an asshole for having taken her so roughly. We had a great night and a great morning together. I thought she enjoyed it too, but how could she when I had to have reminded her of men hurting her? In the elevator, Eve turned to me. "Stop feeling guilty Kane. I don't talk about my past. If you'd asked questions, I would have left. You couldn't have known and I prefer it that way." She
I can't believe I told Kane as much as I did. I had never told any man as much. He knew my home pack, he knew my true name. He could destroy me. 'He won't. He is a good man. He was sincere when he invited you to join his pack. Blaze said so. Blaze said we can have a home there if we want. We don't have to live in the packhouse. We don't have to fuck him or his Beta.' Goldie said. I was lost in my memories, not the good ones. I went room to room, dosing the assholes. Kane followed me. The guards watched Kane. All from different packs, but they respected him and it wasn't just because he was an Alpha. He was bringing home their missing. He was helping their packs. No one had asked him. He didn't request money or prestige or tribute. He just took it upon himself to do it. He is a good man a d every one knows it. Why doesn't he have a Luna? Why is his Beta unmarked as well? What am I missing? Lon had said Kane and Red Dawn are different. We had a long conversation. It's part of what m
Chapter 168 - CeliaCarson was incredibly passionate and making love with him was better every time. I shuddered and moaned. I wanted more! I wanted all of him. He filled me so completely and as his knot pulsed, I felt our mate bond expanding in my head. How strong was our bond going to be when he marked me? My body shuddered, I felt my core spasm around his cock. I arched my back wanting to feel him deeper in me. I wanted him to fill me completely! I moaned and cried out, "More Car! Please MORE!" My wolf was growing angrier. I felt her in my mind, growling and wanting me to stop. She wanted me to push Carson away. I wrapped my arms and legs around him and pulled my body tighter agsinst him. "More Car!" My body convulsed. I orgasmed and moaned his name, "Carson!" In my head, my moans and his name echoed. I would never tire of having Carson touch me, of having him lick and kiss and drive into me. I craved his touch. After Carson and I made love, I felt so incredibly happy. I fell as
Expanding the training sessions for girls was a huge deal. I had been thinking about this since the first session. Ang picked up on techniques fast and did a great job learning. Celly had been a little slower, but she also had some trauma from the rogues holding her back. Today, Celly showing that leg sweep and taking Thomas down was perfect! She surprised me as well as Thomas and Derek. Celly had developed more confidence in herself too. I loved knowing that I was helping her. Michael wanting to make expanding the female training sessions his junior Alpha project was probably the best way to have this program succeed. He had to have a project to show his Dad he was ready to become Alpha. Usually, these projects were for younger generations and geared towards moving the pack into a stronger position. A female training program would be a huge leap for our pack. Having our women know how to protect themselves would be amazing. It would give them confidence and a power in themselves. I
'Lily, please reach out to Celia's wolf. Guide her as her Luna.' I spoke softly to my wolf. Lily swished her white tipped tail. She yipped happily. 'Child, you are safe and loved. Allow your Luna to help you.' I heard Lily calling to Celia's wolf. I allowed our aura of peace and tranquility to inf
I laughed. "Kane, you should have come with us. Seeing the young she-wolf was worth it." I sipped my bourbon. "She is fucking gorgeous! She has an edgy attitude. Even having been taken and abused, she has a spunky spirit. I'm telling you Kane, I would have loved to tell their Alpha that I needed a
Celly seemed very happy to have me near. She didn't seem to notice that I hadn't showered and that I smelled. She kept reaching for me. She wanted me near her. Eckley was thrilled. 'MATE! Mate wants us! See, I'm right. Tell her.' I ignored him. Right now, I was going to enjoy that Celly wanted me
I was tasked with running the command center. I had Warriors coming in with updates. None of which involved finding our missing pack member. The head Epsilon's daughter being the missing girl was horrible. Normally, Roger would be here, running point and coordinating the search. But his daughter wa
