Chapter 1: Suffering

I don't want anything else but a complete and perfect family. At first, Jeff was becoming a good husband to me and a good father to our two daughters. Until it gradually changed, and he became a drunkard, and he often hurt me. One night and he just came home from duty.

“Hurry, both of you, and go inside your room because your daddy is already here!” I quickly let my two daughters into their room. Because I noticed that my husband was drunk.

They quickly entered the room because they were afraid that they might get hurt again.

“—Jenny!” he shouted my name.

“I'm coming, Jeff.” I ran toward him because if I won't, his fist will surely land on my body again.

"I'm hungry, is there any food?" he asked me seriously.

"Yes. Come to the kitchen and I'll prepare your food."

We both went to the kitchen and I was a little ahead of him.  "Jeff, what are you doing?!" I was surprised because he suddenly hugged me from behind and both his hands were on my chest.

"Are you complaining now?!" he shouted at me.

"It's not like that. But not here, our children might see us."

"I want it here, you can't stop me!" As I see it. I can't stop him.

"Don't shout, the children will hear you." I said harshly to him.

"You have so many complaints!" He suddenly pushed me backwards and my body fell on the table. He approached me while laying on the table and forced me to take off my panties.

"What the hell are you doing, Jeff?!" I shouted at him.

I fought hard because I didn't like what he was doing to me. But my husband got angrier and suddenly punched me in the stomach.

"That's enough, Jeff." I begged, but he didn't listen to me.

"You forced me to hurt you!" He slapped my cheek at the same time. My husband did not stop punching my body  until I got weak and fell to the floor.

"You're worthless!" He kicked me at the same time, even though my body was lying on the floor. Then he turned his back on me and left the house again.

When my daughters heard their father's car leave, they quickly left the room and went to the kitchen.

"Mommy, are you okay?" asked my oldest daughter.

"Help me get up. We're going to your grandmother's house." I ordered it for my daughters.

"Jenny, how long will it take for you to wake up? You're suffering from his abuse everyday. What will happen to your daughters? They might be next." my mom asked tearfully.

"Mom, I can do everything, and I don't want my children to lose their father. I-I will protect my children. I promised I'll do everything so he won't lay a finger on them." I replied.

"But how long?" she asked again.

"I don't know, Mom. I'll just be patient for my two children," I answered.

My mother's tears did not stop falling while the warm water wiped the bruises on my body. I am the eldest among my siblings. At the age of eighteen, I married a policeman. Jeff Lim, who is well-off and knows their family.

At first, he was kind and a good husband to me, until I gave birth to our first daughter. I was full of his care and love, but when I was pregnant with my second child, Jeff suddenly changed. I don't understand why and what is the reason because I haven't changed, and I haven't done anything wrong to my husband.

Until now, he still mistreated me. Especially when he comes home drunk, he just hurts me. I loved Jeff so much, and this is one of the reasons why I don't want to leave my husband. And especially when I think of my family's poverty. I didn't graduate from high school. So, this is one of the reasons why I don't want to leave my husband. Because I don't want my two children to suffer.

"Mommy… Mommy… Daddy is here…" shouted my youngest daughter Michelle.

I know what my husband wants, he'll pick me up and the kids.

"Jenny, you'll go with him?" my mother asked weakly.

"For the sake of my children, I'll go with him, Mom," I replied. We don't have a father, since he died in an accident, so my mother is suffering more and more.

Our house is small, and the floor is only land.

My Mom went out first and Jeff asked about us when he saw my mom.

"My wife, Mom. Where is she?" asked Jeff.

"In the room," she bowed her head and held in the anger she felt in her heart.

"I want to pick them up, Mom." The tone of his voice was calm, as if he was very concerned about us.

"Jeff, have mercy on my daughter, don't be cruel to her, think of her as the mother of your children," my mother begged and wiped her tears at the same time.

"I'm sorry, Mom. I didn't do it on purpose, maybe I just got carried away by the alcohol, especially because there was a problem at work."

"Jeff, problems at work will remain at work. It is not supposed to be brought home. If I am the only one to be asked. I will not give you my daughter. But Jenny loved you too much."

"I love Jenny too. We only have problems sometimes."

"If there is a problem, it should be discussed properly, not through your cruelty towards her."

"Don't worry Mom, I won't let it happen again."

"I'll look forward to it, Jeff."

My mother called me and my children clung to my jeans. We went out and said a proper goodbye to my Mom.

"Be careful, Jenny. If you can't take it anymore, go home and I'll wait." my mother said.

"Yes, Mom."

Until we leave at my mother's house. I was sitting in the front next to my husband and my two children were in the back seat.

"From now on, you will not go home!" Jeff said seriously, not looking at me. I didn't answer, and I looked out the window.

"Hey! Jenny— Did you hear me?!" he snorted at me.

"Yes, Jeff, I heard you."

"Daddy, why can't we go to Grandma's house?" asked my eldest daughter, Richelle. She is six years old and Michelle is five years old.

"No more questions!" he said to her.

"But why, Daddy?" my youngest daughter asked.

"I said stop asking so many questions! Aren't you studying?!" he told our children strictly.

"Yes..." my two children answered sadly.

And Jeff told them to prioritize their studies first. Until we arrived at our house and I hurriedly got out of the car to prepare our dinner. I was currently cooking, when my husband called from the living room.

"Jen… Jenny…" it shouted.

"Why, Jeff?" I came quickly!

"Buy me a bottle of beer."

"Wait a minute. I'm just going to finish this fried fish," I said because what I was cooking was still on the fire.

"Buy me first, because I want to drink!"

His voice started to rise again, so I turned off the tank in a panic and ran to get the money.

"Where is the money?" I asked, while my hand won't stop shaking.

"This! Hurry!" Even though it was painful for me that he treated me like I'm his servant, as a wife, I endured it.

i think that they need better proof readers for all the books on this site. Could be bestsellers if there weren't so many grammatical errors.
