Chapter 40: Jenn Is Angry With Lie

I was suddenly worried that Jeff might have already investigated what happened to him. He is the type of person who will not allow himself to be unrequited.

“Lie's life is in danger. I need to call him!” I quickly opened my belt bag to text her. But my phone is not inside. “Where is my phone?” I asked myself.

“Mommy, are you looking for something?” asked my eldest daughter.

“Yes, my dear. I forgot my phone at the hotel,” I replied.

“Are you staying at the hotel, Mommy?” asked my youngest daughter.

“Yes.”

“Mommy, did you visit grandma's house?” asked Michelle.

My expression suddenly became sad. “They are gone. I don't know what your daddy did to them. Even the lawyer who was supposed to help my case to free me has disappeared like a bubble.”

“Daddy is evil, I hate him!” said my youngest daughter.

“Don't worry, mommy. When I grow up, I want to be a lawyer, so I can help you get free,” replied my oldest daughter.

“Thank you, sweetie.” And I smiled.
