I sipped the tea Gwendoline practically forced on me to help calm my nerves while I pondered the information I’d just pried from her unwilling lips.  It was not only difficult to believe, but it was devastating to hear.

I was hurt to discover those I loved lied to me. 

Gwendoline said it wasn’t her story to tell, which was why she hadn’t said anything.  I could relate, since I was holding on to a secret about Geo and Luthias being true brothers from her womb -instead of cousins who were raised like brothers- because it wasn’t my secret to tell.  Even so, there were plenty owning the secret who could have told me.
