Chapter 6 | Brazen

A shadow was cast from the tall snake plant. It was standing near the open window, allowing the sun to strike past the billowing curtains. And half of Raverine’s face was touched by the soft edges of the sunlight. His face was lifeless and his body did not move an inch. Raverine was laying his back on his bed while staring at the snake plant, upside down in his vision. His head was hung on the right side of his bed with his fingers touching the floor. His mind was filled with nothing but the boy’s face, grinning at him and proudly flashing the blood dripping on the tip of his tongue.

He cursed under his breath and washed his face with his left palm. A ding sounded that made Raverine bend his body upwards. 

"Mister Agustine, a new message was sent from nine-nine-nine, would you like me to read it?" Alex said in a deep, synthesized voice.

Raverine heaved out a frustrated sigh. "Yes, Alex."
