Chapter 13.——♣—— The next morning brought a cold feeling for Millicent. Her tumor was starting to act up again. It wasn't the first time she was waking up to find herself in such situation but this time around, it was worse. The pain was intensifying, which wasn't much of a surprise either. She was already a ticking time bomb. But still, that didn't mean she'd sit and endure the pain. So the moment it increased, she had gone to get water and luckily her journey was made quicker due to the help of a nearby staff. Chapter 11.——♣—— After Dinner, Millicent left the De Angelis brothers, wandering around aimlessly. She had too many thoughts and not enough space to put them. So she decided to wander around, which led her to where she currently was. The upper corridor, staring at a portrait hung alone on the wall. In it was a woman. A beautiful woman. Warm brown hair, dark gentle eyes and a slight curve to her mouth. Millicent stood there in front of it longer than she intended to. Not just because of the beauty, but because of the mystery behind it. Who was she? Why did she have a portrait of her hung in Angelo's estate. And moreover… why did she want to know? That was a question that even she herself couldn't answer. Chapter 10.——♣—— Millicent spent hours in the library long enough to make her believe she fell asleep. Because by the time she opened her eyes, it was dark and the book had somehow made its way to the ground. It had to be the drugs, no doubt. Immediately, she left the library for the kitchen, hoping to get a drink. But as she approached the stairs, she smelled food even before she could locate the source. The scent filled the east corridor and Millicent followed it with, partly because her stomach had been running on tea since morning.
