Chap. 2: MARRY ME, MR. CEO

**Nicole's POV**

“How could you do this to me?” I couldn't believe what I was seeing. How could the two people I trusted with my life do this horrible thing to me?

They stopped what they were doing and looked at me with shocked expressions on their faces. Kayla hid her face while Frederick ruffled his hair.

“You're cheating, Frederick. You're cheating on me!” I snapped as tears rolled down my cheeks.

He stood from where he sat and approached me. Before he could utter a word, I slapped him hard on the cheek. He opened his mouth to speak, and I slapped him again. I was about to give him the third one when he held my hand and yanked it away.

“Nicole, you've got to know that this isn't cheating. I'm just getting what you couldn't give me from another source.” He commented, and I couldn't believe his guts.

After what he did, there was no feeling of remorse or embarrassment. “Tomorrow is our wedding, Frederick. How could you? I loved you with every fiber of my being. Why have you repaid my love with betrayal?” I yelled at him.

“Come on, Nicole,” He tried to touch me but I moved away.

“Shut up, Frederick,” I faced Kayla and she hid her face. “Wow, what a wonderful friend you are. I should have known you were a wolf in sheep's clothing. You've really shown me the kind of person you are today. Thank you for hurting me, Kayla,” I scoffed. “I thought you were my best friend. You were supposed to be the chief bridesmaid for my wedding tomorrow and here you are, fucking my fiancé. You will regret this!” I snapped.

Frederick tried to hold me, but I yanked his hand away. “It's over between us.” I announced and they gasped.

“What about the wedding?” He asked.

“You should have thought about that before cheating on me with my best friend!” I snapped.

“Do you think I wanted to do this?” He snapped at me. “You can't cancel a wedding I worked desperately to make happen.”

“Watch me,” I frowned and removed the engagement ring from my hand, then threw it on the floor. “I'm no longer marrying you, Frederick Maroon. Get lost and get the fucking shit out of my life!” I snapped.

“What about the money you promised me? Are you feeling too entitled now because you're an international model?” He asked.

“Pardon?” I couldn't believe what I just heard.

“You keep acting as if you're on top of the world because you earn huge amounts of money, right? Do you think you call the shots in this wedding? I never really liked you anyway. I was only after your money, and guess what, I ate a considerable amount of it.” He revealed, and I slapped him.

“Get lost!” I turned to leave.

“You'll regret this decision, Nicole. I know you can't live without me.” He chuckled.

I did a robotic turn and walked to where he stood. I made sure to look him square in the eyes. “Fuck you!” I snapped, took one last look at Kayla and stormed out of there.

I got into my car and sped off. I cried my eyes out as I drove around the town in circles. First I got fired from work and framed for what I didn't do, now I caught my fiancé in bed with my best friend. Could this day get any worse?

“You all will pay for doing this to me. I won't spare anybody!” I vowed and picked up my phone as I put a call across to my mother.

“Hello, sweetie,” She called, and I couldn't help another round of fresh tears that rushed from my eyes. “Why aren't you saying anything? If it's about the wedding preparations, don't worry. I've put everything in—”

“Don't bother about that. I have called off the wedding,” I said, and she gasped.

“You did what?" She snapped.

“Frederick isn't worth my love, mum. He cheated on me with Kayla.” I broke down in tears.

The other end was silent for a while before I heard my mum sigh deeply. “Come home right now.” She hung up and I ruffled my hair.

My phone rang and I picked it up. “Hey,” I called slowly.

“Have you checked the news?” Emily asked.

“What else do I need to see aside from the hateful comments and fake news?” I mumbled.

“This one is about your wedding.” She revealed.

I ended the call and took my phone to check the news.

Frederick Maroon calls off his wedding with Miss. Nicole Brennan; Says he can't get married to a cheating woman.

How far are they willing to go to bring me down? I was about to go home, but I did a U-turn and went to a bar instead. I needed a place to cool my head from all this emotional turmoil. Maybe if I drank enough, I would forget about my pain and live my life, free of this nightmare.

“Two bottles, please,” I muttered to the bartender, and he did as asked. He dropped two bottles of beer in front of me and I started downing them immediately.

“Calm down, ma'am. You shouldn't get drunk here.” He warned.

“That's precisely what I want, Mr. Bartender. I want to get drunk and feel numb to the pain that's threatening to tear my heart into pieces.” I continued drinking until I couldn't anymore.

I was a little tipsy, but I discovered I could still walk, so I stood up, tipped the bartender and dragged my feet out of the bar. I didn't want to drive drunk, so I used my legs to walk instead.

As I walked forward, all I could think of was how to get revenge on Frederick and prove him wrong that I can live without him. I'll show that scumbag that I have moved on, but how do I do that?

I looked around the place and saw two men standing in front of the court. One seemed like the driver and the second looked like a rich CEO from the way he dressed.

It would be better to do what I was thinking now, to show Frederick that I have long forgotten about him. Getting married to this man is a sign that I've truly gotten over him, besides, he would be shocked and go to hell.

I walked to where the handsome man stood and grabbed him by the shirt.

“What are you doing?” His sexy voice rang in my ears.

“Marry me, Mr. CEO.”
