Thane.

I stared awake to a sensational feeling on my feet.

I felt like I heard voices but when my hearing abilities began to restore there was nothing.

My eyes were still closed as I tried to separate the real from the imaginary.

Apart from the confusion in my head, I couldn’t feel pain anywhere else in my body, infact I couldn’t feel my body.

I tried to stay calm and attempted to take things one after the other.

First my right leg, I told myself.

I consciously instructed my brain to send a message to my right leg but there was no movement.

Now the left leg. The result was the same.

I tried my left arm, followed by my right arm but there was nothing.

For a moment I gave in and tried to make use of my hearing aid, the only thing that seemed to be working for me at the moment.

It was all quiet.

The nimbling sensation on my feet was gone, almost as if it was never there.

I began to work on my mind.

The next feeling I recognized was the feel of the hard ground underneath.

Chapter 202Author’s POVThe horse moved steadily, the sand shifting under the animal and the warriors.Thane rode at the front beside Lyra, the air dry but cooler than he had expected in the early morning. The horse’s steady walk in the sandy ground had become familiar over the past few hours, though he still felt slightly off balance with every step.No one knew the rogue’s surrounding territory would be this sandy. It was almost giving the desert kinda vibe.He glanced at Lyra who looked as calm as ever, her eyes fixed on the horizon.Thane knew better than to believe her calm demeanor. He could easily see through it and knew beneath that serene surface was a storm brewing. The events of yesterday till today had left a heavy toll on everyone and one of the people who was most affected was Lyra.Thane could feel it in the way Lyra carried herself more focused than usual, although he said little. She had managed to pull it together while they surface other options of attack. They wer

  • Viking Wolf: Odyssey of a hybrid Luna    Chapter 121

Chapter Author’s P.O.VLyra laid in bed, replaying different scenarios of how the war might end up in her bed, again and again. She turned over, shifting to try to find a more comfortable position, but it didn't help. Her body felt tense, her legs restless as she pressed them together beneath the blanket. Her eyes opened, staring into the faint shadows on the canvas above. She turned again, her breathing shallow, her cheeks warm as she tried to push the thoughts away. Thane, lying across the bed, had already fallen into a deep sleep. His breathing was even, his body still except for the faint rise and fall of his chest.Lyra felt a small pang of envy at how easily he could rest, his mind seemingly unaffected by anything. She knew she wouldn't be sleeping for a while or at least until she could cool the burning she felt inside her.***Thane woke up in the night, his senses alert. The room was silent except for the wind outside. He blinked, adjusting to the dim light. Then he saw her

Chapter 200Thane.I was jerked awake by a sudden touchon my shoulder. My instincts took over before my eyes even opened. My hand shot out, grabbing the wrist of whoever dared disturb me. With a swift motion, I twisted the arm, flipping the intruder onto the bed. In one smooth movement, my free hand reached under my pillow and pulled out a dagger, pressing its cold edge against the intruder's throat. It wasn't until my vision and senses were cleared that I recognized the face staring up at me. It was Lyra, her black hair loose and her nightdress crumpled from the sudden movement. She was breathing heavily, her chest rising and falling as her wide eyes met mine.I froze for a moment, registering the position we were in, I was on top of her, my legs pinning hers, her body trapped beneath me.I pulled the dagger back immediately, muttering, "Damn it, I'm sorry."I pushed myself off her and stood at the side of the bed, sheathing the dagger. My heart was still pounding, not from fear

Chapter 119Jamica.“But how can you know all that about her and still have me come here?” I asked Maverick with disbelief…Not towards him, but my so called sister and her sick intentions.“I’m sorry Jamica, but I just wanted you to be happy. She’s your sister and I couldn’t deny you the privilege of meeting her.”I sighed and leaned down my head feeling a headache creep in.Is this what I get for wanting a family? So Lyra was never really over Maverick and the only reason why she had desperately been searching for me was because she wanted Maverick all to herself. How diabolic could she be?“Let’s leave here then, we have no business been here again and I as much don’t want to have anything to do with her again.Let’s go back home.”I sounded desperate as I looked pleadingly into Maverick’s eyes. His eyes clouded with emotions and at that moment, I could see his pure love for me.If I had doubts about him before, what I heard today and how he has refused Lyra because of me has cleare

Chapter 118Jamica.I couldn’t speak, neither could I respond to the question that was asked, “Who’s there?” My hands was clasped over my as I moved towards the direction I had come with.I’m pretty sure they knew someone was eavesdropping. That’s if they don’t already know I was the one.Lyra might not have mastered my scent but Maverick definitely has.If I was feeling heavy and nervous before then this was a buster. What did I just overhear? So Lyra wasn’t who she was claiming to be?I just knew something was weird about her when my inner wolf didn’t warm up to her.I didn’t feel the instant spark and connection. So she was just playing me and acting like she really cared. How could she say that about me?The simple answer laid thick in my head. She’s still in love with Maverick…that snake.I couldn’t even string my thoughts together, neither could I do that with my bearing.I just kept tripping over my own damn feet. The ground was coming at me like it had a personal vendetta. • Viking Wolf: Odyssey of a hybrid Luna    Chapter 117

Chapter 117Jamica.The sun was almost setting, still halfway on its journey to the west. It’s receding golden light made everything just kind of glowed. I wandered down this twisty old road, gravel crunching under my boots, birds yelling at each other in the trees, wind doing its dramatic howl thing through the leaves. It was real peaceful, Well, as peaceful as you can get when you’re skulking around in a cloak like some discount Grim Reaper.Honestly, no one was giving me the time of day. People glanced at me, then looked away so fast you'd think I was contagious. Guess that’s what happens when you’re rocking a mysterious-hooded-stranger vibe. It’s the cloak, really. Makes me invisible, which is exactly what I was going for. The last thing I needed was some nosy villager grilling me about why I looked like their Alpha.Although some of them might be able to differentiate due to my hair color, but regardless I wasn’t in the mood for the first degree curios glance.Anyway, back to
