Chapter Eleven
As soon as Lauren stepped out of the shower, She heard the sound of the doorbell. She had no doubts it was Stanley. She proceeded to her bed to pick up her already laid out comfy nightdress and put them on.
Then she made her way out of her bedroom to answer the door.
As soon as Lauren opened the door, Stanley picked her up by surprise and spin her around.
"Stan!" She whisper yelled his name in between giggles.

"But you saw me about four hours ago and you called me thirty minutes ago to check up on me." She caressed his face with a smile on her face.

Stanley and Lauren left very early the next day for Mesa city, Arizona and they got there in an hour.They made a stop at Lauren's home to drop their luggage before they made their way to the hospital. It was a three-bedroom apartment; Not something extra but a very cozy place for an average family.Lauren knew where the spare key was so they had no troubles getting in to drop off their bags.As soon as they got down from the taxi, Lauren sighted her younger sister, Abby, walking out of the hospital. The plan was to buy some fruits and return back to the hospital but Abigail and Stanley ended up buying a big basket of fruit which had almost all the types of fruit in it. A week later.Lauren was almost going crazy because she was out of options and ideas of what to buy for Stanley. His birthday was in two days and she was still clueless about what to get him.Buying materialistic things doesn't seem too appealing to her because Stan already has all the things she thought of buying for him.He had told her not to buy anything for him because her love for him was enough to serve as his birthday gift. Just as predicted, it turned out to be a very busy day at the office. Stanley had meetings with a number of clients, his business partners and his lawyer.The staff of Chatwin's Inc were also nice enough to surprise Stanley with cakes and gifts during lunchtime.Despite how busy Stan was, Lauren made sure he had his lunch. It was his day and the best thing that could happen was for him to break his two meals per day rule.It wasn't a rule that he intentionally made but due to stress and all other pressure around the company, Stanley hardly remembers to have lunch.The day went by pretty fast and soon enough it was time for him and Lauren to go home.Lauren walked into Stanley's office with both her handbag and laptop bag. Stan was seated on a chair behind his desk and he was on the phone. He gestured for Lauren to come sit on his lap and she did just that.

Stanley stepped out of his walk-in closet into his bedroom, all dressed up for his birthday dinner and for a second, he forgot how to breathe as soon as he sighted the love of his life who was looking so gorgeous.She was putting on a designer dress that fits her perfectly well.
