Chapter 4

Chris

Chris got ready in a casual black t-shirt and denim pants. He got ready and went to the garage. And now about his garage, Chris has a kind of obsession for cars. He has his own side of the garage to keep his precious cars. Though he had to pay extra for this. But it doesn’t matter to him. He treats them as his own babies. He got into his Rolls-Royce, started the car and left the building. 

The car stopped in front of a big building. The building was standing in a big spacious place. He looked at it and said, “Sorry for not being able to visit. I was quite busy” And got down from the car. The owner of this NGO was also present there. “Hi, Mr Chris, how are you?” He asked. Chris smiled and said, “I’m all good, what about you?” “I’m all good” The owner answered back. The owner is a middle aged man. His father was the one who had started the NGO. He was quite close to Chris but he died three years ago. No reason, he was old enough that’s why. After his death his son now looks after the NGO. 

“Thanks to your donations. If it weren’t for you then it wouldn’t have been a NGO but a supermall. And these orphans and elderly people would have nowhere to go” Mr. Callisto said in an indebted voice. “I just did what anyone would have done. Anyone would save his home. I did the same. My first home is HOME. And because of this I got a sweet family.” Chris said with a smile. Then he continued, “I’m indebted to Mr Judas for bringing me here. He’s like my grandfather. May he rest in peace” He said the last words being sad.

“You turned out to be a great gentleman, your mom and dad must be proud of you,” Mr Callisto said. “I hope so too,” He said. 

“OMG, Chris is here!!!” Maria said while jumping up and down. Valeriana laughed, “Do you like him that much?” She asked. “More than my life! He’s the love of my life!!!” Maria said while touching the left side of her chest. Valeriana giggled.

“You have gone all mad!” Valeriana said, giggling. Maria is Valeriana’s best friend here. Maria and Valeriana joined the NGO at the same time. But she didn’t know about Maria’s obsession regarding that CEO. Also they joined at the same time then how Maria knows about him, infact obsessed about him but she (Valeriana) doesn’t even know anything? 

Maria then looked at Valeriana and said, “Don’t say that you don’t know the CEO of ‘The Evanson Enterprise’ !!! Maria said with disbelief in her eyes. Valeriana gave a confused smile and said, “I really don’t know him. I just know that he is one who donates a big sum to this NGO. “Oh, Valeriana!!!” Maria sighed, slapping on her (Maria’s) forehead. Then she said, “Wait I have his picture saved on my phone, lemme show you” “Geez, you saved his photos on your phone, what are we? Teenagers fangirling over a CEO?” Valeriana asked, chuckling. She wasn't a fan of the riches. Many rich people donated just to be in the good looks of high society. She assumed the Evason's will be the same. Charity for show types. But she was grateful that due to the donation the NGO is still running and facilitating the ones in need.

“You won’t say so when you see his picture” Maria said and took out her phone from her pant pocket. But right at that moment a staff of the NGO came and said, “Hey! Mr. Callisto has asked all the employees to gather outside to meet the CEO” A big fat smile appeared on Maria’s face, whereas Valeriana had that normal look on her face, which didn’t show any excitement.

“OMG!!! Let’s gooo!!!!” Maria said and almost ran out to the room, almost happy dancing.

“He’s the CEO?” Valeriana said without her knowing to Maria while looking at Chris. “Isn’t it obvious? His aura is so strong that everyone would think that he’s the CEO and everyone is right too!” Maria said, pulling Valeriana with her. Valeriana’s eyes were stuck to Chris's broad back. But she couldn't see his face. She saw that Mr. Callisto was speaking with him. But only his posture itself was releasing a domineering aura. She tried to peek to see his face but failed. But then she said to herself, “A CEO with this much attractive face is harmful for your heart Valeriana. Stay away from him. They only know how to flirt, and how to use someone” Then she again thought, “What if he has some ulterior motive behind the donations for this Ngo? Anyways the Rich don't do anything without their own benefits. "

One thing about Valeriana is that she always overthinks. She is cheerful, but her overthinking is on another level. And she herself is fed up with her overthinking. She suddenly noticed that Maria had a funny scowl. She asked " What happened to you?" Maria replied in a pissed off tone " You didn't hear anything right? You always do this Valeri. Don't you care about me ? Don't you value my world ? You never pay attention to what I say. You are so engrossed in your own thoughts . I don't want to talk to you anymore huff… "

Valeri chuckled seeing her. She is so cute when she does this. " C'mon my chirpy bird. You know you matter to me and who said I didn't hear you. I know how head over heels you are about Mr. Evanson. Now let's go and get such icecream to feed you or else you will stay like this the whole time. I'm sure don't want that either" 

Hearing about icecream Maria became excited. She wasn't angry though , she just wanted to pull a leg and bring her back from her thoughts. " Yay! Let's go. I want cookies and cream. It's your treat. " "Sure, let's leave after serving lunch." Valeriana replied.

Even though Valeriana didn't earn much she always liked to spend it on her close ones. Their smile satisfied her more than any riches. Her happiness lies in others. That's why she always tries to make others happy.
