LETTING GO.

AUTHOR’S POV.

Sapphire carried the funerary urn tightly in her arm as she stared at the sea with Daniel beside her, and then Liam, Hilda, and Carlo behind them.

She closed her eyes as she muttered words on the funerary urn and then sniffed gently.

Her mother had specifically told her that whenever she died, she wanted to be cremated and then that her ashes be poured into the sea.

Sapphire had tried to persuade her mother not to do that as it was better for her to be buried, but Charlotte declined.

“LETTING GO.”

Charlotte had said. She said it was the best for her and Sapphire.

The cremation process had taken two hours and afterward, Daniel had driven them to the sea that used to be her mother’s favorite

“Amore,” Daniel patted her shoulder gently, gesturing to her that it was time to let go of her mother.

After a while of clutching it closer to herself, Daniel watched as Sapphire began to sprinkle the ashes in the water while she muttered words and smiled.
