CHAPTER 34: WITHOUT LOOKING BACK

He was woken up by the thick scent of human blood. Falling asleep was merely an act of pleasure and wasn’t really needed by his body. However, it was a very human thing to do. And so he gave his body a rest. He closes his eyes and surrenders to the darkness. It was never like sleeping, which humans do, at least from what his body barely remembers from when he was still a human, but he does it anyway.

Elijah’s senses started sharpening. He hasn’t fed for days, and the blood just wafting dangerously in the air is making his mouth water. He hissed, and even though he didn’t want to, his whole body did the opposite. Elijah's hands trembled, not from fear but from the thrill that his body naturally feels whenever it wants to hunt for blood.

He went out and saw dead bodies right outside his house. There was no screaming or people asking for help. There were just vampires running around the place and killing everyone in plain sight.
