MasukSia's POV.
I had too much to drink, seeing I woke up in my room, under my own sheets, dressed in clothes I definitely didn't pick. My head throbbed like a drum solo, and my tongue felt sharp. I sat up slowly, groaning, and that’s when I noticed the bracelet.
A thin silver chain wrapped around my wrist, delicate and unfamiliar. One that certainly didn't belong to me.
“What is this?” I thought to myself.
The memory returned like a slap.
“Ugh,” I groaned, pressing my palm to my forehead. “That jerk!”
I drank too much to forget him but I couldn’t take off the way he pulled me close to him and kissed me deeply, more than I could ever think of.
I bet Amy was even more messed up than I was. Could she have brought me home? I grabbed my phone and immediately called her.
She picked up, groggy. “It’s 7 in the morning, girl. I need my sleep”
“Who drove me home last night?”
Amy groaned. “You can’t remember? It was Richard. I figured you were with him after Knight turned you down.
“Richard?”
“Yes. You caused a little scene. I was too wasted to remember much but... yeah, Richard got us both back safely.”
“What kind of scene?” I demanded.
“I don’t know, babe. It wasn't too much of a deal.” she mumbled. “Let me sleep.”
And she hung up. I stared at the bracelet again, frowning. Did he put the bracelet on me then?
What kind of game was he playing? Did he tell Amy that Knight turned me down?
I sighed, my mind kept replaying the kiss in my head. It never stopped.
After a long bath and even longer time trying to tame my hair, I finally got dressed and headed to class. As I walked across campus, my eyes scanned the students. Everything looked... normal. No one stared at me or made weird moves. It was just a normal day in my life except the thoughts of Richard kissing me. So maybe my scene hadn’t been that dramatic or no one cared. Still, I wasn’t exactly proud.
I slid into English class right before the professor walked in and that’s when I saw Richard.
Sitting two rows behind me and staring, smiling creepily too. Since when did he take English?
He kept staring, smirked and winked.
What was wrong with him?
I whipped my gaze away and accidentally met Knight’s eyes instead. My stomach flipped. I smiled... but he didn’t smile back. He just looked away, like I was a stranger. I always was anyway, still didn't change the fact that I was in love with him.
Knight was always like that. Distant, kind in a vague, uninterested way. He was the golden boy. The sweet, quiet type who never noticed everyone around him except hockey. He was stealthy in a beautiful kind of way that makes him hot whenever he's on the rink.
Richard was no different either, they were both the coach’s sons and somehow I only knew Knight and only loved him. Now he's smug, annoying and impossible to ignore.
When class ended, I barely made it to the hallway before Richard caught up with me.
“You could at least say thank you,” he said casually.
“For what?” I asked, crossing my arms.
“For carrying you home. You were like a feisty drunk gremlin. Cute and dangerous too.”
He said, that smirk spread across his face again.
I narrowed my eyes. “You may have fooled everyone else, Richard. But not me. Are you always a jerk or you’ve just grown that attitude?”
“Don't get judgy. I may not be as famous as your crush is, but at least I don't kiss someone just anyhow.”
“Watch your mouth! And I thought you were Knight, I never knew it was you. I still can't get it off my head.”
He leaned closer. “What’s that supposed to mean?”
“None of your business, stop following me.”
“I can't”
“How many girls have you kissed pretending to be Knight?” I snapped.
He chuckled. “You’re cute when you’re clueless.”
“Go away.”
“Come to our party this weekend.”
“Why? So you can kiss me again? I'm not interested.”
“You’ll be there.” He winked again, walking backward with that annoying grin.
“I won’t!”
“You will. I’ll see you there, Princess.”
Princess?
“What gives you the right to call me princess?” I stormed towards him, my finger pointed to his face.
“You sure do enjoy talking to me, uh?” He said, his eyes locked onto me.
I realized I was too close to him and quickly pulled back.
“You just piss me off so much that I could almost punch you.”
“Yeah, right. See ya later princess.” He turned back and left. I watched him leave, his perfect body shape taking over my thoughts.
“Get it together, Sia. He's just his brother's shadow and you're in love with someone else. Richard can't possibly be in love with you.”
“Hey! Found you.” A voice interrupted. I turned to see Daniel, my English Professor’s assistant. “Mr Chris wants to see you in his office right now. Been looking for you.”
I nodded and went straight to his office. I knocked and didn't wait for an answer. Mr Chris’s eyes scanned my body, I clutched my bag in my hands.
“Sit.” He ordered. I obeyed, wondering why he called.
“Daniel said you asked to see me.” I began, hoping he'd get straight to the point.
“Yes, I did.” He stood from his chair and walked towards me. “Do you know how insensitive it is to not know why I called you here?”
“Um… I honestly don't know what you're talking about, Mr Chris. Can you just let me know what it is?”
He smiled, his eyes trailing my body.
“I'm sorry, Mr Chris but that's inappropriate.” I protested.
“It wasn't when you sent me this text.” He pulled out his phone and showed me the text that said, “Can I come babysit you tonight, Mr Chris. I love the way you teach English too.”
I scoffed, amused. “What? I was at the mask party yesterday. What makes you think I'll send this kind of text? Must be someone playing a trick on you.”
“You mean I'm wrong about this?” He showed me a pile of filthy texts.
“I really didn't send those texts, Mr Chris.”
“Show me your phone then.” He barked.
“I can't, I have private things in there.” I grumbled.
“Or you're scared to show them to me. Come on, let's stop playing games and undress. I have less time on my hands.”
“Mr Chris! I am not going to watch you disrespect me like that.” I said and stood, walking out the door.
He grabbed me roughly, I pushed him back and he fell to the ground. I ran out of the office and found Amy.
“You came late! Mr Chris…. Mr…” I stammered, trying to catch my breath.
“He tried to touch you and fake a text that you sent them?” Amy said almost immediately.
“What? You know?”
“Well, he does that to get the girls in college. Guess you're the victim for the week.”
“Why didn't you warn me about that!?”
“You do not look like his type. I didn't think it'd be necessary.”
“Amy!”
“What? Have you seen Knight today?” She asked.
“No! I need to catch my breath. I was almost traumatized there.”
Sia's Pov Despite finding Richard better, I wanted Knight. The part of me that wanted Knight wasn't going to rest until I had him. It was him I wanted, nothing more. All this time, Amy was doing her best to ‘talk’ some sense into me. And there was I who didn't give a shit. Why should I? I was grown enough to make my decisions. “I don't know why you're finding it hard to let me do what I want—” I said to Amy the last time we had seen each other - and that was a week ago. Ever since that moment, Amy didn't call me - I didn't bother to reach out either. The only times we talked were when we saw each other in class - and this talk didn't last as long as it should - it felt like we were strangers - not strangers - enemies. I hated it. I hated it that Richard was coming between me and my best friend. But why should I care? When did it get to the point that she'll dictate who I should be with? I never tried such to her. Another week arrived. My relationship with my mom somehow blo
Sia's Pov It's been a week since Richard saved my ass. From that club - the man in it. Everything seemed to be better at home, although my mom and I hadn't said a word to each other. What was there to talk about? At some point, I would blame her for this. If she didn't do what she did to piss me off, I wouldn't make up my mind to be there. One way or the other, all of these were her fault. This week, the school was on a break. Good thing for me. Amy and I would catch up, and I'll catch up with the things over here. Especially holding a conversation with Richard, whom I haven't spoken to in a while. “Good morning—” I looked up, smiling. “Good morning, Mr. Smithfield. Good morning, Mom.” I looked around the table before facing them again. “What about Richard? And Knight? Where—” “Rehearsals, Sia.” My stepfather answered. “Campus is closed for the week, according to the news on the portal. How come?” I caught up with a chair and sat on it. “Do they have to?” “Yes—”
Sia's Pov Hours later, I recovered from the incident. Not completely, but it was good to be home. Home again. Amy did not leave my side for a second and it seemed as though she had something she was hiding from me. I couldn't tell what it was. I just knew something was wrong, I didn't know what. “How do you feel?” “Better—” It was the truth. “Now that I'm back home, I feel very much better.” “That's good to know.” She adjusted. “What exactly happened? Do you want to tell me? I need to know before I leave. Also, I'm mad at you for not telling me on time before heading to that bathroom. Imagine Richard wasn't there to get you, you could have been raped. And who would be blamed? Me.” There was shock on my face. I couldn't even hide it. “What did you say?” I asked, more than confused. “Did you say Richard was there? What was he even doing there at that time? How was he there?” “I wish I could answer that question, Sia.” “What?!” I choked on my tea. “Richard was ther
Sia's Pov Two hours into the moment, my eyes spun. I could see clearly, of course. But I had too many drinks already, which I shouldn't have. “You're drunk—” Amy mentioned again. “No—” I shook my head as I tried to grab the bottle once again. “Trust me: I'm fine, Amy.” My eyes shut, and I rested on the couch - waiting for a miracle to happen. I shouldn't have come here - not now or ever. Although I felt very much better than I did. People who I looked at, the ones who danced, and the ones who attended to the orders the people asked for. And then, there were strippers. Dancers who concentrated on shaking their asses. “I'm fine—” I muttered and let out. “Amy, where's the drink? You didn't take it.” I looked at the table for it, then got up when I didn't see anything like it. “I need to dance.” The floor was filled, but there was space. More than enough space, even. When I caught up with the floor, I turned to make sure Amy was in sight. Many things were going on in my head
Sia’s POV I looked at myself in the mirror. “Such transformation.” I hailed as I looked at Amy from a distance through the mirror. “This is so beautiful.” Despite not wanting to be at that club, I still needed to tell her the truth. “I'm glad you like it.” My friend walked closer. “We're almost ready. All that is remaining is your dress. Get ready - wear it while I'm getting ready. I'll be with you before you know it.” “Thank you, Amy.” I got off the dressing chair, caught up with the bed. Then I took the dress we selected, checking it out the next moment before making up my mind to wear it. “Fair—” I groaned when I had worn it. At least, it was not very tight. Not as tight as I expected it to be. “Oh, Sia. You look stunning.” It was at that same moment someone knocked on my door. I didn't expect anyone. Rachel wasn't cleaning my room until tomorrow, and I'm not sure we told Richard about taking us. “Are you expecting someone?” I asked Amy. She glanced at me, so many q
Amy's Pov Instead of making it to school, I was at the gate. Although the housekeeper made me understand that all was well with my friend, I still needed to come and see for myself. “I'm here to see Sia.” “Miss Amy.” The man who worked at the gate did not hesitate to open up. And I walked in, smiling and waving before walking away. Where the hell was she? I caught up with the main entrance and knocked, ringing the bell even. And then the door opened, while I sighted the woman who picked up my call when I called the house. “Good morning, Amy.” “Good morning, Miss Rachel.” She opened the door wider, and I walked in. My legs led me into the living room space, and I didn't stop looking around, expecting to see Sia. “Okay, where the hell is she?” Rachel looked at the tray of food on the diner. She looked at me and let out. “She was here. Just now, I left the tray for her.” The woman explained. “I'm sure she's in her room or something. Could you maybe check around?” O
Sia's Pov “So, you're going?” I glanced at Amy, a sigh threatening to escape my mouth. Haven't I said so already? “What joy do you derive from me when I repeat myself, Amy?” The sigh I held back for all these while, I finally let go of it. “Of course, I'd go with him. And that's only because Kni
Richard's Pov Everything I could do to make her look at me, didn't work. Not one single bit. As a family, we were seen in public. During evenings when the press were not around - when so many people minded their businesses. Tonight, Dad decided it was right to visit the mall so we could go groce
Knight’s Pov “What?!” I burst into laughter, completely abandoning my phone. “What, Chris?” Chris himself was laughing. “I know. I know.” He laughed out loud. “That's the same thing I wanted to do, I just was too embarrassed to do it. Why would he think I have a hand in the situation when I don'
Knight’s Pov It's been three weeks since my family was merged with that of Sia. I didn't care much. As long as my tripod was still intact, and nothing has affected my live videos so far. All day, whenever I was free from class and rehearsals with my Dad and brother, I was either eating or attendi
