CHAPTER 12| I NEVER FORGOT THAT NIGHT
I just got home after class, took my bath, didn't bother to eat as I drove down to Roxie's apartment. I needed someone to talk to. Someone who's gonna talk me out of thinking about going over to Chase's apartment.
Although we have a lot to talk about but, I don't want to risk it. Me and my instincts know it's definitely not gonna be only talking.
I see Tanner in Roxie's kitchen holding a bottle of water.
" Oh hey, Lauren." Tanner smiles at me.
" Hi, Tan." I groan and fall down on Roxie's couch.
" Definitely you had a nice day." Roxie chimes as she smirks. I roll my eyes.
Aside from seeing Chase again, my day was great.
" So did you meet him? Did you two kiss?" Tanner asks as he sits next to me on the couch with his shit eating grin.

CHASE'S POV Fuck! Six months. I couldn't get her out of my head. Never in my life have I craved for a woman whom I've fucked once. Normally when I see a woman I liked, it's always sex. My heart is hurting but I have to help myself if I'm willing to keep my job and my career. As Leo talks about things that I'm not interested in, I watch Chase walk away with his friend. Leo asks. " I'm fine." I sigh and cross my arms, my eyes meeting the younger girls who admired Leo as they walk past us. He's hot, definitely. For a lecturer of his age, he truly got the girl's attention. But he's not my type. I can shamelessly agree that the man who stole my heart and shut my brain with just one smile is my student, my big case, and the key behind my promotion. My own corner office. It's Friday afternoon and I'm having lunch at the staff restaurant with Jade and Madelyn. I met them yesterday and they're also lecturers from the same faculty as me. They're pretty great though.
