“It’s alright, Jeremy. I can stay in a hotel for now before I find an apartment.” I answered quickly.

I could stay with Beth too, but I knew she needed some privacy with her husband, and the last thing I wanted to do was get in the way of that.

Jeremy’s brows furrowed, and I could tell that he was not pleased with my answer.

“It’s really okay, Lucia. You can come with us. You can stay with us—” Jeremy began, but at that moment, Aaron tapped him lightly on the shoulder before whispering in his ear, and it was a pity that I was not able to hear a thing.

Once Aaron stopped speaking, Jeremy’s expression turned solemn, and a huge sigh escaped his lips.

“Fine,” He whispered to Aaron before turning to me. “I’ll get you settled in a hotel today, and we’ll begin searching for an apartment for you immediately.”

“No, I can look for an apartment mys—” I began to protest, but Jeremy instantly grabbed my hands, an earnest expression on his face.
