Alpha Rozan had not come out of the house to see me before they forced me into the car. A part of me wishes he did; I wanted to see his face one last time to give him the opportunity to explain what was happening and not let me have any excuse to hate him.
Even if Isabelle had become Luna, she couldn’t still sell me off without Alpha Rozan agreeing to it. It just didn’t make sense; nothing about all this makes sense to me.
For six good years, Alpha Rozan had been my father and my mother. I was just twelve years old when he took me in. Isabelle didn't like the idea of sharing her father with me, but she was cool with it till we turned fifteen, and she suddenly started bullying me in the morning. I had endured all the abuse and insults she threw at me because I didn’t want to disappoint Alpha Rozan by hitting her or cursing at her back. But why would Alpha Rozan agree to this? I can’t think of anything wrong I did to him. Tears filled my eyes as I began to cry softly.
“We will soon arrive. The woman said as she turned to me. In the meantime, let me brief you on some things you need to know. Firstly, my name is Rosa; you can call me Mrs. Rosa. She pointed to the man driving, which is Beta Jasper; he is my husband.
“We have been working for Alpha Damien for 28 years. Now there are some important things you need to know about Alpha Damien.
As you heard previously, you are the newest bride of Alpha Damien, Alpha of the Silverwood Pack.
“Congratulations! the Beta added. I felt bile run up from my stomach to my mouth, and I felt a sudden urge to throw up.
Anyone who hasn't heard of Alpha Damien probably lives under a rock. I have heard stories of how he is the most handsome man in the werewolf kingdom, but ladies feared and avoided him like a plague. Stories of how cruel he is were told to children to scare them.
I heard he is heartless, cruel, and sick in the head. He changes women like his clothes, and all his previous brides never set foot out of his palace. People say he kills them when they are of no use to him. I have heard different versions of stories about him; some say he killed them, others say he locked them up in a dungeon, never to be seen by anyone again. I didn’t know which to believe, but what has never changed in the stories I heard about him is that he is cruel, ruthless, and merciless, and I don’t want to ever meet him.
“You see, Alpha Damien has some certain rules everyone around him must follow; under no circumstances should you ever dare disrespect him or speak when you weren’t asked to speak. Do not ask him questions; if he asks you a question, you have to answer only the question asked. If you don’t follow these rules, we will be forced to punish you severely.
“The punishment in the Silverwood pack can’t be compared to other packs, she said. She pulled down her gloves, and a large scar appeared around her wrist. I winced at the scar as fear gripped me.
From the mirror in front, I saw Beta's face. He bit his lips angrily as his wife revealed the scar. It made me feel like there was an ugly history behind those scars.
“Look at this! This is one of my scars. You don’t want to go down this lane. If you do, we will make sure you end up as a mere slave. Slaves in the Silverwood pack don’t enjoy any privileges of living apart from breathing. Her words made me freeze in fear and shock. I had willingly entered the car with them, but now that I think of it, I really should have fought hard; maybe I would have been a slave in the Blood Moon pack instead.
"Please, please, can you take me back? I began to beg them, hoping something would touch their hearts and they would take me back to Alpha Rozan.
“Take you back to where? You were sold to Alpha Damien; you don’t belong to the Bloodmoon pack again. They couldn’t have sold me yesterday; I mean, I was rejected yesterday night, and I probably blacked out for a few hours.
“Can I ask you a question? I really needed to know how Alpha Damien knew about me and had bought me. She nodded her head.
“When was I sold to Alpha Damien? How does he know me? Why did he choose me as his bride? I asked. Curiosity was killing me, and I had a million questions running through my mind. I stared at her eagerly as curiosity overtook the fear that had previously filled me.
“Anything Alpha Damien wants, he gets!” Those were the only words she said as I stared at her red lips, hoping some answers would come out of them.
“We have arrived.” The Beta said. As he looked back at his wife, She rolls back her gloves to cover the scar before gulping loudly. There was something about her that made me feel some way. A smile appeared on her face again as she turned to me. Her chilling gaze made my heart pound heavily against my chest.
