He was standing in my ring of fire. What I subconsciously created to keep him out originally, now trapped both of us.

When I looked down at his legs that had been burnt by the flames, he was completely healed.

“What are you?” I didn’t know if I asked in awe or out of fear.

We were cut off from the world and the wolves that he came with circled the ring of fire, I guess whoever this man was, he was important to them.

Was he Alpha Talon’s son?

Alpha Talon was over a century old so it made sense that he would have an heir, although I never heard of one.

He took a deep breath and let out a small sigh of pleasure.

“What is that amazing smell?” He asked as he took a step closer to me.

I couldn’t step out of the ring. I would be open to the attacks of what I’m guessing was a dozen wolves.

“You’re probably smelling your own burning flesh,” I said, trying to sound more confident than I felt. My fatigue was getting to me but I had to leave The Red Moon pack before I even attempt to collapse.

“No, it’s sweeter, like roasted marshmallow and cocoa. I could only get a whiff previously, but after your fire trick, it’s much stronger now,” He paused, closing his eyes and then taking a long whiff. His eyes flew open suddenly, his golden eyes staring into my green orbs.

“MINE!” He said, fangs flashing.

Everything happened in a flash. He pulled me closer, and immediately sunk his teeth into my shoulder.

He was marking me.

The flames around us died. Maybe from the shock I felt or from the fatigue that suddenly caught up with me.

“Mine,” he whispered again, softly this time as he pulled away from me, a bit of my blood dribbled down his chin.

“I, Alpha Talon Bloodmoon, claim you as my mate.”

Wait! Alpha Talon?

I collapsed under the weight of everything that just happened and darkness claimed me totally.

****

I was dreaming. I could tell even before I felt his lips press against my skin.

Somehow, in my dream, Alpha Talon laid next to me, his warm manly body pressed against mine.

I could somehow feel every dip and curve of his muscle against my skin. He pulled me closer and his rough hands pinched my nipples, eliciting a sharp gasp from me.

“Stop. What are you doing?” I asked, my skin flushed quickly and I turned a bright red as I pushed myself away from him and sat at the edge of the bed.

We were on a king-sized bed in a room I had never set foot in, I couldn’t tell whether it was day or night, thick curtains were pulled firmly over what I assumed were windows and soft candle light glistened around the room casting a warm glow on us, separating us from the surrounding darkness.

“How should I know?” He asked with a teasing smile, “This is your dream after all.”

Okay, so this Alpha Talon in my head knew this was a dream as well.

He watched me with seductive eyes, quite different from the predatory glint he had when we first met, and as my eyes strayed from his handsome face framed by wild blond hair that went past his jaw, I discovered his shirtlessness, no, scratch that, he was completely naked on the bed.

My eyes darted back up almost instantly and I felt myself turn an even brighter shade of red.

I wasn’t wearing any clothes as well.

“There’s no need to be shy,” He pulled me closer and even though I weakly protested, he placed a soft kiss on my lips. “None of this is real.”

“I don’t care if it’s real or not. Why would I dream of you naked?” I asked, a little annoyed at myself.

There was so much shit going on in my life. I was on the run from my old pack. I was struggling with powers that seem to have a mind of their own, the last thing I needed was a sex dream.

“Maybe it's an effect of the mark,” He said, nodding to the new bite mark I had on my shoulder.

In the middle of all this madness, I had forgotten he marked me.

I wonder if that was the cause of this bizarre dream.

“Am I having this dream because you marked me with your bite?” I asked, still struggling to make sense of it all.

“Do you always ask so many questions?” He pressed his lips against mine again, but this time I didn’t fight him.

He somehow tasted like cotton candy and cigar. The flavor exploded on my tongue as he lightly fought me for dominance. He smelled like the forest after a heavy rain, an intoxicating and relaxing scent that eased my nerves and made me feel right at home between his huge biceps.

I pulled away for air with a slight gasp.

“That was… something,” I muttered to myself, still feeling warmth in my cheeks.

I had never kissed a man this handsome before.

Does this mean the real Talon liked me? Does he like boys?

I mean, why else would he mark me out of the blue?

If he preferred male lovers, then it’ll be the least surprising thing I’ve heard about the mad Alpha from the red moon pack.

How can a man that was supposed to be more than a century old look like he was in his 20’s?

A part of me wanted to ask this Talon but I doubt he’d have an answer. None of this was real.

There was something disarming about realizing I was dreaming. It made a situation as unlikely as this seem almost normal

I could feel my mouth watering from the way he stared at me, like he was an addict and I was his drug of choice. It made my cock twitch.

My eyes wandered below his waist and I let out a sharp gasp when I saw what he was packing.

This time when he pulled me in for a kiss, I allowed my hand to wander up and down his incredibly fit body. He nibbled on my lips, lightly, like he was afraid he would break me. His mouth went lower, kissing my collarbones, then followed by a lingered kiss between my shoulders next to his mark. His stubbles brushed against my skin, sending shivers down my spine that forced my toes to curl in delight.

I allowed my hands to explore below his waist and when I grabbed him, my hands could barely wrap around his pulsating member.

I was trembling in delight.

The air shifted without warning, a warm breeze carrying the scent of brimstone and something sweeter, like forbidden fruit filled the room. A figure materialized from the shadows, unfurling like smoke. All the candles in the room fluttered as he took a soft step into the light.

If I didn’t know I was dreaming, I would have let out a scream.

He was a devastatingly handsome pale-skinned man that I would have been unable to forget for the rest of my life even if our paths only crossed once.

He had slicked black hair with a sharp parting right above his left ear, and his pale-skin was a startling contrast against his pitch black eyes.

Yes. Completely black eyes.

His iris, his pupil, each the same shade of deep black that sat in a face that had high cheekbones and a smooth, clean-shaved jaw.

But none of that was the reason why I wanted to scream.

He was naked. Completely and utterly naked.

I was dreaming of not one, but two naked men.

“I’ve been looking for you,” his voice was smooth with an almost musical tilt that instantly sent a surge of calmness through me.

He was a stranger, that I was certain of, yet he looked familiar in a way that sent a shiver down my spine.

I pulled away from Talon, my lips swollen and tingling, staring at this intruder who stepped closer with effortless grace. “Who are you?” I whispered, my voice echoing oddly in the room.

The stranger chuckled, a low, melodic sound that wrapped around me gently, his presence radiating a heat that rivaled Talon who glowered silently behind me but said nothing.

“I’ve been the little voice of reason in your head. Your own personal rain maker,” His voice was barely above a whisper as he spoke, but yet I could hear him loud and clear.

He reached out, his fingers brushed my arm and sent a jolt of electric desire through me, it gripped me softly like velvet against my skin and it pulled me towards the strange and handsome man in front of me. “But that doesn’t matter right now, little dove. Nothing matters right now.”

Voice of reason? Rain maker?

Could it possibly be?

“Are you saying you’re the one talking to me in my head and you’re also responsible for the rain that helped me escape my pack members? How is that possible?” I asked almost breathlessly.

“Your power binds us,” He stated it like it was a fact, silencing any other question I might have. “You can feel it, don’t you?”

I nodded shakily, unsure of what all meant, but knowing that somehow, he was here.

Different from the Talon I dreamed up. He was not the manifestation of a bite.

“You summoned me to this world. Into this dream,” He said, stopping every thought in my head with his words but leaving just one question burning bright.

Just who is this man and how is he capable of entering dreams?

No. It wasn’t possible. No one could enter dreams. I had no reason to believe he was real, he could just be another figment of my imagination, exactly like Talon. I must have conjured him up in my head because I was so desperate to find who the voice in my head belonged to. There was no reason to believe this was a real person in my dream.“He belongs with me,” Talon growled from behind me, interrupting my train of thoughts and bringing my attention back to him, the bedsheet barely covering his naked body. “He carries my mark.”“Silence, Mongrel,” The pale-skinned man snapped, fire blazing behind his entirely pitch black eyes. “You may have marked the Seraph before me but he is mine,” He sneered at Talon.Seraph? What does that mean? What’s happening here? “This is such a weird dream, I need to wake up immediately.” I murmured to myself. The exhaustion from running for my life probably drove me insane. I was wolfless, I shouldn’t have been able to run so far in the first place. In

I ran as fast as my legs could carry me.“Where did he go?”“After him!”I ran faster as I heard the pack warriors closing in on me.I didn’t know what was happening to me, but I knew there was an explanation. There had to be. I couldn’t be a witch.Witches were always women. I had never heard of a male witch. And, even though witches were women, they were practically extinct. There hasn’t been a single sighting of a witch in years, the war between species made sure of that. But I couldn’t dwell on that for too long, I had to escape from my pack. Because the last reason why I couldn’t be a witch was simple. Any witch found on pack grounds must be executed. My death was set in stone even if I didn’t burn half the pack house down. The trees whipped past me, clawing against my skin as I dashed past them as fast as my skinny legs could carry me.The memory of Nathan’s body hit me like a punch in the gut and I let out a pained gasp. Vile. And all it took was getting my heart broken for the world to know it too.****“Please, Riven,” I whispered softly, like I was afraid I would fall apart if even a gust of wind blew past me. I could feel my heart breaking with every step as he slowly backed away from me. “Please, don’t do this.”Big blue eyes stared back on a familiar face but somehow it felt like I was looking at a stranger. His dark hair was packed in a rough bun and his tan skin seemed to glow under the light of the setting sun that rolled in from the only window in the room.Even while breaking my heart Riven Calder looked like a god among men.“I have to Dante. This isn’t right,” Riven replied. I couldn’t tell if it was pity in his eyes as he stared at me or something else. “I reject you, Dante Blackthorn.”A white searing hot pain ripped through me as he said those words, clawing at my lungs and throat, bubbling out from inside me
