Alexie’s POV

“The trip is tomorrow, Ma’am, do you want to take the private jet or the public plane?”

My assistant asked, scrolling the schedule tablet in her hand.

I looked up from my phone, a subtle smile plastered across my face. Finally, the day had arrived that I would be going to that pack after years.

Seven years came so fast, but not fast enough to erase the hardship I went through after relocating to the Silvermoon pack.

They said when you are new to a place, you would be treated like a very important figure, but my case was different. Coupled with the fact that I am an Omega from another pack, life only got worse.

No one wanted to employ a stranger to work for them, nobody trusted me with anything, landlords kicked me out of their houses when I couldn't meet my monthly rent, and worst, I almost dropped out of school when I ran out of my savings.

Nevertheless, I didn't give up, I fought so hard, showed them I was worthy to do any job, and after a few months of working as an intern with meager pay in a factory, I was finally recognized and promoted to a temporary staff member.

Instead of running away because of the hectic work, I pushed forward, ignoring how heavy my pregnancy had become and only stopped working a week before I gave birth.

All the hardship, and maltreatment I endured paid off because seven years later, I am not who I used to be. Seven years later, I have transformed from just an omega to someone rich men were dying to see—someone they could trust with their money and get a huge profit in return.

Yes, I studied my dream course, graduated, and built an empire in Silvermoon pack—a conglomerate that only competes with the Alpha’s company.

“The jet.”

She bobbed, bowed her head, and hurried off.

My gaze returned to the phone after she had left and I continued chatting with the business tycoon I was going to meet in the Lunskye pack.

“Don’t forget our agreement, Ms. Brown, I am looking forward to seeing you tomorrow.”

I placed the phone on the desk after listening to his voice note, cracked my fingers, and yawned.

“Mummy!”

A little shrill voice startled me so hard that I nearly fell off my chair. My baby ran from the door and didn't stop until she saw herself locked in my arms.

“I’ve missed you so much, Mummy. Didn't you say you would pick me up from school today?”

She pulled away, compressed her lips stubbornly, and dropped her little hands on her tiny waist.

“You ditched me again today.”

“I am so sorry, baby, mummy got so busy but I promise to make this up to you.”

“Again?”

She gasped, dramatically waving her hands.

“You’ve said this countless times, Mummy. When will you…”

Her voice was so loud and shrill that I had to cover my ears before she killed my eardrum. However, she tugged at my elbow, showing her displeasure so I had no choice but to drop my hands

“What do you say we go get some ice cream?”

Her face suddenly brightened up and she grabbed my hand.

“Let’s gooo!”

Before we left, I branched by the secretary’s desk regarding the trip to remind her of something important, but before that, I had to send my baby with the assistant.

“Make sure it is ready before I return.”

At the ice cream shop, while Freya was busy licking off the tip of the ice cream, I stared at her affectionately, happy that I was able to give her the best life I prayed so hard to provide for her.

“Mummy will be going on another trip tomorrow, baby.”

She paused and slowly looked at me, disappointment all over her face.

“You aren't going with me, isn't it?”

I nodded, maintaining the smile on my face even though I wasn't happy deep down. Always leaving my baby behind whenever I am going on a business trip isn't intentional, it is just to keep her away from someone–Rafe.

He doesn't know I was pregnant when I left the Lunskye pack and I don't want him to know anything about Freya.

“But will you come back with Daddy this time? I've got a debate to participate in next week and I will be so happy if Daddy comes.”

I sighed, took her hand in mine and smiled at her.

“Mummy will always be here for you, sweetheart.”

“What about Daddy? He doesn't love me, right? And he won't come to see me?”

Seeing how her mood was about to change, I quickly told her the one thing she has always wanted to hear.

“Daddy loves you, baby, and he will come to see you soon.”

“Will you return with him this time around?”

She asked, her eyes bubbling in excitement.

“Yes, and he will stay with you forever.”

I felt so bad lying to my baby because this time, I had given her the hope that I would return with Rafe. If I don't, what will happen? Perhaps she wouldn't want to talk to me anymore.

But how would I start explaining to Freya that her Dad doesn't know about her? I have already built her hope since she was two that her Dad had travelled to another country for business and would return one day.

“Ma’am, the plane has been booked and your flight to Lunskye pack is at 10am.”

I nodded and sighed deeply after hearing the assistant’s words.

Tomorrow will be the first time I set foot in the Lunskye pack after seven years. Has it changed from how it was, or is everything still the same?

What about my parents? Are they still alive? And if they are, has regret already kicked in or are they still waiting for me to apologize to that idiot, Rafe?

Well, tomorrow will tell so no need getting excited over what I don't know yet or what is awaiting me over there. But no matter what, I must make sure I cross paths with Rafe and Skipper—to let them know they were the obstacles blocking my path to freedom and richness.

Alexie’s POV My eyes snapped wide and my hands started trembling, and I didn’t know when the phone slipped off my fingers. Grover knows about Freya? “It appears Mr. Grover has been digging deep into your life in the Silvermoon pack, Ms. Brown, he also knew who you were before you went to the Lunskye pack for the meeting.” I was shocked beyond words when my assistant reported it to me the next day after I was back at the Silvermoon pack. For years, I have tried my best to keep my daughter out of sight yet someone was smart enough to get that information. If he could go that far just because he was seeking my collaboration, what else could he not do? I should have made a thorough investigation of that man before even agreeing to go to a meeting with him. And now that he has found out about my daughter, what could I do to stop him from informing Rafe? Before he ended the call yesterday, he made it clear that he was going to inform Rafe about the child if I made a mistake b

Alexie’s POV Bestie? What an insane lunatic. If I were Skipper, I wouldn’t have allowed myself to cross paths with the person I wronged. And she wasn’t even ashamed to seek my help again. Her audacity pissed me off so much that, for a moment, I was tempted to remind her exactly why she had lost the right to call me her best friend. How dare she! No. How dare they! Also, she must be out of her mind to think that I wasn’t over Rafe by saying she would release him for me if I helped her. Maybe if Mr. Grover hadn’t hinted to me that Rafe was desperately trying to get into business with me, I wouldn’t have figured out what they were doing there. “Alexie?” I couldn’t ignore the voice I just heard because the familiarity of that tone was so strong. I paused on the stairs, turned to my left and I wasn’t mistaken, the voice belonged to someone I had known for years before leaving the pack. “Oh my goodness! It’s you!” She tried to come closer, but the bodyguards with me blocked

Rafe’s POV Alexie’s presence awakened something deep from my soul—the feeling that died following her disappearance from the pack. I didn’t know why that was happening, and I couldn’t control it either. But the anger I had stepped out of the car with had just vanished into thin air and I stood in front of her, with only three steps between us. “Look who we have here.” Her voice jolted me back to my senses, and as I opened my eyes, Alexie looked at me with disgust. “Are you already here to crawl at my feet? Isn’t it too early, ex-mate?” Her mockery sent waves of anger circulating in my bloodstream, making the feelings I had felt earlier disappear in an instant. “You must have been continuously replaying that impossible scenario in your mind that is why you think it is possible.” Crawling at her feet for what reason? For a second chance as she had mentioned? To hell with that. “Your delulu has made you fantasize about the impossible, lady, so get your head straight and a

Rafe’s POVSkipper sat across the dressing table, slowly applying makeup while I buckled my shoelaces. She has been constantly sick these days so we were going to see a professional doctor who just transferred to the Lunskye pack to examine her.Seven years have passed, and nothing about her health has improved. I can even say things only got worse because she keeps having miscarriages and I am afraid that Skipper won't be able to produce an heir if this keeps on.Her first pregnancy was aborted by the doctor because he said keeping it would cost Skipper her life. After all, Alexie refused to help her seven years ago. However, that was in the past but even with that, my heart always burns with rage whenever I remember that moment and how much pain Skipper had to endure. She turned around slowly, her face plastered in makeup. A few months ago, that makeup would have made her look prettier but this time, she looked like a mannequin.“How do I look?”She asked, trying to pose so that I

Rafe’s POVEver since Alexie stepped foot out of the grand hall, no one has heard from her. I had thought she would return to the mansion to at least pack her belongings, but she didn't.I was even ready to punish her for humiliating me in public whenever I set eyes on her, but she chose to stay far away from me and the mansion.Well, that wasn't the case. What bothers me the most is the fact that Skipper has been so sick and only Alexie’s blood matches hers.I have sent the bodyguards to turn the pack upside down yet none of them could find her. Skipper has been in the hospital for hours now, battling for her life, and even in critical condition, she wants to see Alexie—to apologize to her.“What about the penthouse?”I asked one of the bodyguards who went out in search of Alexie. “There is no way she wouldn't be there. Bring her over here as fast as possible!”After ending the call, I returned to the VIP ward Skipper was admitted to, my heart palpating in rage. But before entering
