8: Broke and three words

I grabbed my car keys from my bed side with the attempt of driving far away from here, but thought about it. Damien would just track my car and find me. And I don't want to be followed. I need some alone time and most especially, I need to have a long talk with my dad.

I sipped my hot chocolate first before storming out of the suite. Maybe I heard Damien call me but I was already in the elevator hitting the button like a mad person. The door finally closed and I noticed an older woman staring at me. She was holding her son in her hand which made me rub my tummy. This is insane. Everything is. I didn't notice tears streaming down my face and the lady tapped me.

"You ok miss?" She asked.

For a moment I wanted to tell her my whole life story right from the point where I made that short walk to the alter and said ' I do ' to becoming Damien's wife. I sobbed louder nodding my head at the lady. She just smiled unconvinced but didn't push it.

The elevator doors finally opened and I rushed out once again like a mad person dressed in only a short transparent maxi dress and flip flops. I hailed a taxi immediately.

"Where to miss"

"Just drive" I snapped at him. He started the car immediately and I slumped down in my seat. Why am I crying this hard? It's my father's doing not mine but still, he's my father and that had me wondering if my marriage to Damien was just a cover for him to get what he wants. My whole life is a lie. That made me sob harder.

"Just drop me here" I motioned to the taxi man. He parked by the side of a park.

"Your fee ma'am"

I remembered I didn't take my wallet with me. I'm not even with my phone to call Damien. I took off my silver earrings and handed it to the man. He stared at it for a while before shrugging and then drove off. I turned toward the park immediately. Here I am in Paris roaming about like a stranger in flip flops.

....

Damien POV

Jay had already left the moment I ended the call. The suite door was left opened letting me know she ran out. I quickly ran after her. I spotted her in her blue maxi dress getting into the elevator.

"Jay!"

The door closed up too soon and I was left wondering what next to do. I had intentions of telling her about her dad taking money from my company but I didn't want her to find out like that. I ran back to the suite and quickly dialed her number. The sound of her phone ringing by her bed side  and next to her wallet made me panic. She's out there without her phone and her wallet?! What if something happens to her? What if she's stranded. Of course she'll be stranded. This isn't home and she's without a dime.

Possibilities ran through my head making me call the hotel management. The man sounded ignorant at first but when I told him who I was, that had him in my suite under ten minutes.

It was obvious some staffs saw her run out but didn't know where exactly. I watched the cctv camera one more time.

"Check out the plate of the taxi she entered"  I told the guys handling the computer.

"We got it" he called out.

"Well track it down" I rumbled!

The door to my suite burst opened and I hoped to see Jay run in but instead, Chloe came in quickly. Unlike the normal Chloe I know, she looked like a mess.

"What happened to your makeup?" I said. She almost never goes a day without those. Unlike Jay. Jay! Oh shit.

"Anything?" I asked the hotel manager.

"Well. Yes.. we got  the taxi driver's number" he said.

"Call him"

"Damien what's wrong?" Chloe finally spoke. She looked frantic for once.

I was handed the phone.

"Bonjour!" The man on the other line greeted. I went straight to the point.

"I'm calling from Castille Paris. You picked up a lady from this hotel today?"

"Well yes. I picked up many ladies"He boasted in his job.

I groaned. Of course. He's a taxi driver. "I'll send a picture to you" I quickly sent a picture of Jay to the man.

"How about now. Remember her?"

There was a clicking sound in the background. "Why, yes. I remember her now. The sobbing lady"

What the fuck!?

"I'll take it from here sir" the hotel manager said. Good idea, because I was just about blowing the man's head off with curses, probably a bullet too.

"Where did you drop this passenger off at?"

"Well, she really didn't have a place in mind I guess, but I dropped her off at a park"

My alarms rose up. "What Park!" I yelled.

"Calm down you. I'm sure he can't hear clearly with all those yelling" Chloe patted my shoulder. I relaxed a little.

"Parc de butte chaumont"

"Really smooth Damien. What did you do to her to make her go there" Chloe attacked me immediately. Funny how she can go from messy and relaxed to overprotective of her girlfriend. I respect and admire that. I however, can not do that for Joseph.

"What are you talking about?"

"That's the same park her dad proposed to her mom"

What does any of this has to do with the matter at hand. I raised my brow at her.

"Now's not the time for your bickering Chloe" I needed and she had both her hands in her hips.

"Bickering?! Two hours after my friend tells me she loves you, she's running off to some park"

I stopped what I was doing to look at Chloe. "She what?"

"She didn't tell you? She loves  you Damien" Chloe scratched her long nails against the table.

I blinked many times before gathering myself again. Jay loves me. I'm not sure how to take that news. Why didn't  she tell me? She was probably thinking it won't be mutual. Granted! But, she should know I care about her more than anything in the world, because she cares about me so damn much.

She even cares about my health more than I do and for that alone, I love her.

I grabbed my car key from the bed and started out of the suite.

"I'm going to find my wife"
