Sienna

The sound of a car pulling into the driveway made both our heads turn. I peeked through the blinds and my heart nearly stopped — Coach Daniels.

“Oh no,” I muttered. “Jaxon… your coach is here.”

Jaxon’s face drained of color. “Now? What the hell—” He rubbed the back of his neck, eyes darting toward the door. “Stay upstairs, Sienna. Please.”

I nodded quickly and slipped away to my room. My stomach was in knots. From upstairs, I could hear the knock on the door — sharp, steady, and way too serious.

Knock. Knock. Knock.

“Evening, Coach,” Jaxon’s voice came, trying to sound relaxed.

“Evening, Jax.” The coach’s deep voice carried through the house. “Sorry to show up unannounced, son, but I tried calling. You didn’t answer.”

“Yeah, sorry about that. Come in, sir,” Jaxon said.

I heard the door close, then the faint clink of glasses. Jaxon must’ve offered him a drink.

“Your parents around?” Coach asked.

“No, sir. They’re still out of town. I can take any message for them, though.”

SiennaThe air in the house was tight long before Ezra even arrived. I’d texted Kendra about him coming, thinking she should be here too — she’d been the glue holding us together through every meltdown lately. But her reply came fast:Kendra: I think it’s better you two talk to him alone this time. He needs to hear from just you and Jaxon. So, it was just us. Me and Jaxon. Waiting in silence.Jaxon sat on the couch, tapping his leg restlessly while I tried not to keep checking the clock. Every car that passed outside made my heart jump, until finally, we heard the gate creak open.A few seconds later, Ezra walked in.He didn’t greet. Didn’t smile. Didn’t even look at Jaxon properly. He just nodded at me stiffly, dropped his car keys on the center table, and sat down across from us.The silence stretched so long that even the ticking wall clock felt loud.Jaxon cleared his throat first. “Thanks for coming, man.”Ezra didn’t reply. He just stared at him with an unreadable look.So I spo

SiennaThe silence that followed Jaxon’s words was unbearable. No one moved. No one spoke. It was like the world had stopped spinning.Ezra blinked a few times, his face frozen between disbelief and confusion. Then a small, awkward laugh slipped out.“Wait—wait, what?” he said, looking between us. “You’re joking, right? This is another prank or some weird challenge thing?”I didn’t answer. Neither did Jaxon. And that silence — that single, heavy silence — told Ezra everything. The laughter faded from his face. His smile cracked, eyes narrowing.“Hold on…” he said slowly, looking at me, then at Jaxon again. “You’re serious?”Kendra bit her lip, looking down. That was it. The confirmation he needed.Ezra’s expression hardened.“You knew?” he asked her sharply. “You knew and didn’t say anything?”Kendra hesitated. “Ezra, it’s not what you think—”“Oh, it’s exactly what I think!” he snapped, his voice louder now. He turned to Jaxon, his fists clenching. “She’s your step-sister, man! What

SiennaThe words hung in the air like they didn’t know where to land.Ezra looked straight at me, that usual playful grin gone, replaced with something serious — something that made my stomach twist.“Maybe all this wouldn’t happen again if people just knew you were mine,” he said. Then, with a little pause that made my chest tighten, he added, “So… why don’t we make it official?”I froze. My mind just stopped. The TV buzzed quietly in the background, and for a moment, that was the only sound I could hear. Was he serious? Or was this just another one of his jokes that went too far?I forced out a shaky laugh. “Ezra, don’t start—”But he didn’t laugh. He just kept looking at me, calm but… intense. “I’m not joking, Sienna,” he said softly. “I mean it.”My heart started racing, and suddenly, the room felt smaller. I glanced at Kendra — she looked as confused as I felt — then at Jaxon. He wasn’t saying a word. Just sitting there, his face tight, like he was trying not to react. But I coul

SiennaThe text message from Mum glowed on both our screens like a warning light.Mum: “We need to talk. Right now.”My stomach twisted so hard I thought I might be sick. Jaxon just stared at it, breathing shallowly, like he was trying to think his way out of a burning room. Then, before either of us could react, his phone started ringing again.Same contact name — Mum & Dad (Family).Kendra clutched her chest. “Oh no. They know.”Jaxon and I exchanged a quick, terrified look. His thumb hovered over the screen, frozen.“What do we do?” I whispered. “Do we pick up?”He hesitated, then said softly, “If we don’t, they’ll keep calling.”We both took a deep breath. He answered.“Hey, Mum,” he said, voice tight but steady. The next voice that came through the speaker was warm — cheerful, even.“Hi, sweetheart! We were just checking in. We just landed in Paris from Madrid!”I blinked, my heart still racing. Wait... what?Dad’s voice joined in from the background, sounding tired but happy.“Y

SiennaThe silence in the room was so thick, I could hear my heartbeat in my ears.Kendra’s fingers trembled as she held her phone.“Kendra,” I whispered, “tell me you deleted it.”“I’m trying!” she said, tapping the screen like her life depended on it. “I’m deleting it, I swear—oh no.”Jaxon leaned closer. “What? What’s ‘oh no’?”Kendra froze, eyes wide. “Claire… she’s already seen it.”My stomach dropped. “What do you mean seen it?”“She’s typing,” Kendra said quietly, showing us her screen. Sure enough, the three dots were blinking. Then the message popped up.Claire: ‘Wait—what? Sienna is pregnant for Jaxon? What are you talking about?’My heart jumped to my throat. “Oh my God.”Jaxon rubbed his face. “This can’t be happening.”Kendra groaned. “I can explain! I’ll just tell her it was a joke.”“NO!” I shouted. “Don’t type anything yet. That’ll make it worse. She’ll think you’re covering something up.”Jaxon nodded quickly. “Yeah, if she suspects something, she’ll start asking more
