"He can't kill you, Rey! You are his only heir." I reassured my beating heart, repeating my life mantra. This is what I counted on when I screwed up.

I stand in front of the giant oddity of bricks and stones I called home. It had never looked this intimidating. I knew my father was already aware of my arrival much before I stepped into the perimeter but my heart just thumped down at the thought of facing him.

Dragging my feet on the path, I halt with a grimace. I should have gone to my mother's place instead. She would be pissed too but I won't be this scared of her. Besides, like any other emotion, her anger was volatile gasoline too.
