Chapter 3

Autor: The Handsome Guy
When Nalani's and Felix's expressions hardened, he dropped another bombshell. "Felix Smith, you seduced a married woman into a tawdry, immoral affair, making her play both your older sister and your baby mama. Tell us, was it thrilling?"

Those two statements blew up the entire room like a bomb.

The reporters erupted in an uproar and hurriedly asked, "W-What does that mean?"

Realizing that things were going south, Nalani let out a shriek and immediately stepped in front of Felix to shield him. "Don't listen to his nonsense! He's slandering us to ruin Felix's reputation! I'm going to sue them!"

Right after saying that, she stormed up to me and glared at me resentfully. "Hugo Chandler, if you're a real man, you should speak for yourself! Why are you hiding behind your younger brother and letting him make a scene? So what if we're legally married?

"That's just a cold, loveless arranged marriage! Why can't I pursue my one true love while I'm young? Even if you're the richest man in Brimstone, you still can't buy my love!"

As soon as her words fell, she actually had the nerve to flutter her eyelashes at me repeatedly. It was obvious that she wanted me to play along for old times' sake.

Yet, she was just an adopted daughter of the Smith family. Where on earth did she get the confidence to demand whatever she wanted from me?

Did she really think that after grinding my dignity into the dirt, I would still step forward to defend her? I wasn't that cheap.

"Nalani Smith, you had an affair with your brother while stringing me along, spending my money, eating my health supplements, and staying in my family's convalescent home—only to give birth to Felix's son… You committed adultery, yet you still had the nerve to stand here and proclaim your love in public. Don't you find yourself utterly disgusting?"

Nalani was rendered speechless. Tears welled up in her eyes because she felt hurt.

Felix immediately jumped out to defend her. "It was wrong of us to keep you in the dark, but who's to blame for your inability to have children? My sister felt bad for you and wanted to bear a few more children for you so she could help you inherit a bigger share of your family fortune down the road. What did she do wrong?

"Besides, you should be thanking your lucky stars to have my son call you 'Dad.' In fact, you should be grateful and thank me!"

I was so furious that I almost laughed. With a twist of his tongue, he not only turned the tables and accused me of being impotent, but he even had the nerve to set his sights on my family's fortune.

The love and indulgence I had shown Nalani had now become the foundation for her to slander me and indulge in her wild fantasies. Rage churned violently in my chest.

Henry had always had a short fuse, and he immediately fired back. "Did your family move into a cesspool? Nothing but crap comes out of your mouth, and the stench is unbearable!"

That heated exchange sparked yet another uproar. Refusing to waste another breath on scum, I hurled the divorce agreement at Nalani and decisively left with Henry.

It had struck me as odd how attached Felix was to Nalani. No matter where she went, he always tracked her down. The one time I casually brought it up, her face instantly fell. "What? It's fine for you and your brother to be tight, but we can't be close? Don't be so petty, Hugo!"

I had felt uncomfortable at the time, but I hadn't pressed the issue. Like me, she was a headstrong person who disliked being bossed around. Looking back on it now, I had truly been a fool back then… I was played right in the palm of her hand.

When the news broke that day, it was completely flooded with headlines that read, "The Smith Siblings' Forbidden Love—The Smiths' Adopted Daughter Has a Child with Her Own Brother."

The rumors became increasingly vile, and the Smiths were thoroughly humiliated. I didn't pay them any mind until someone knocked on the door to my office, and Nalani strutted in with a box in her arms.

I scowled. "Can I help you?"

After casting me a wounded look, she put on an air of remorse. "I was wrong, Hugo. I'm here to apologize—"

Nalani would be living in a mansion, cruising on luxury yachts, and flanked by countless bodyguards and mercenaries. Instead, she had fallen so far that everyone wanted to beat her down, and she didn't even have a roof over her head. She was reduced to living beneath an overpass, huddled against a concrete pillar like a beggar. The last time she visited Felix in prison, he was reduced to skin and bones, with sunken cheeks and a menacing air. "Wait for me, Nalani. When I get out, we'll go home together!" He waved his hands frantically, his tone laced with urgency, as if he was afraid she would abandon him.Nalani forced a tired, almost manic smile. Home? They had nothing left now.To survive, she swallowed her pride and searched high and low for me, hoping I'd lend a hand for old times' sake. After everything she had been through, she still hadn't learned her lesson; she still believed the world revolved around her. Carrying her son on her back, she knelt on the ground and compu

Mina was scared out of her wits. Wailing, she dragged Finn back home with the help of others. When Finn came to, he knew the battle was lost. He unleashed all his anger and the humiliation he had suffered over the past days onto Nalani. He couldn't bear to lay a hand on his own son, but he had no such hesitation with his adopted daughter. Besides, it was this promiscuous slut who seduced his son in the first place and offended me, bringing all this disaster upon their family. The more he thought about it, the more he detested him. He picked up the leather whip beside him and struck Nalani with it. "This is all your fault, you idiot! Not only did you ruin my son, but you also destroyed our family! Are you satisfied now? "You whore, you could've been the wife of the richest man in Brimstone; why did you have to seduce Felix? I'll beat you to death, you jinx!" he swore while jabbing his finger at Nalani's nose. For a while, the living room echoed with the sharp cracks of the whip

The following afternoon, the Smiths made the trending list yet again. This time, the spotlight wasn't on Nalani and Felix, but on Mina and Finn. In a single night, I cut off funding to all of Smith Group's branches in the country. The authorities arrived at their office buildings with a large team to conduct a thorough audit. Not only did they uncover serious tax evasion, but they also discovered that the Smiths had been involved in money laundering, and the amount of money involved was staggering. Chandler Group swooped in and gobbled up all the business partners and orders they had left behind.Watching the company he'd worked so hard to build be eradicated so effortlessly by me, Felix was blinded by rage. He barged into my office building with his men, only to be neutralized by my mercenary team in a matter of moments. After getting beaten within an inch of his life, he was tossed out like trash, only to be abducted right on the street by another group. As luck would have it,

Mina and Finn were no longer their usual gentle selves. Cursing profusely, they demanded to know why she hadn't been beaten to death. Felix was the only one who stayed by her side, keeping a close watch over her. The moment she came to, Finn slapped her across the face. "You bitch, because of you, our family is in serious trouble! Did all my warnings fall on deaf ears? I told you to coax Hugo. "What the heck did you do? You're just a bargaining chip for a marriage alliance! Do you seriously think of yourself as some priceless treasure?"Nalani was dumbstruck. Although she was the Smiths' adopted daughter, Mina and Finn had always treated her kindly and had never said a harsh word to her. The only exception had been that day, when they learned that she and Felix had a son together. Even then, all they had done was curse at her coldly. Nalani had always believed that the two of them genuinely loved her and treated her like their own daughter. It only dawned on her then, after he

After hearing that, Nalani froze before bursting into thunderous laughter. She scrambled to her feet, pointed at me, and laughed so hard she couldn't close her mouth. She even doubled over with laughter. She only stopped when her phone, which was clenched in the palm of her hand, rang. Then, she caught her breath and answered it. However, within just a few seconds, all the color drained from her face. Staring at me with a mixture of shock and fear, I raised my hand to stop her before she could utter a word.I looked at the face I had once been hopelessly enamored with. Now, even a single glance made me sick to my stomach. Holding her gaze, I said, "You've had a death wish this whole time. So, I'll grant your wish."The crowd of onlookers in the distance began to approach us, chattering over one another."Isn't that the woman from the Smith family who had a child through an incestuous relationship with her own brother? How does a filthy woman like that have the nerve to come out

After we completely fell out, the Smiths became even more brazen. Not only did they hold a wedding for the two of them, but they also went around telling anyone who would listen that the child was the heir to the Smith family. The entire high society mocked me for being cuckolded because I'd married a woman only to end up with a ready-made family of three. There were also people who were puzzled. "Nalani gave up a billionaire for a deadbeat who drinks, gambles, and frequents brothels. What does she even see in him?"Unable to swallow the humiliation, Nalani maliciously spread rumors. "What do I see in him? He can make babies! Hugo's impotent; he's all show and no go!"Before I could explode, my secretary, Aria Thatcher, stammered out that Nalani had brought a horde of people to surround Henry's inpatient building. Not only had they blocked off the fire escapes, but they were also carrying cans of kerosene. I slammed my foot on the gas and raced to the hospital, only to be interce
