I am not going to ALASKA!

Rose’s POV

Two days ago,

"Rose! Rose, Wake up, Kitty. Rose darling. Rosaline Blue! You brat wake up!" said hella loud voice from a distance but I could still hear it clearly and the strong voice was enough to wake me up from my sweet dream.

I didn't take much time to recognize whose intimidating voice was that.

"Yeah, Mom!" I shouted back while blocking the voice by keeping my hands on my ears.

"Wake up, sleepy head. Get down for breakfast! Rose! If you won't come down now. I will come to your room and beat you into a pulp" shouted my mother in an angry tone.

Yet another threat, and that too so early in the morning. Why am I still living in this house?? There is no respect for me!

I kicked the blanket off of me and sat on my bed annoyedly without removing my hands from my ears. Noise pollution is bad for your health.

"Are you up already? Rose?" screamed my mother again which sounded more like a growl of an animal. Most probably a deadly wolf!

"Alright, Margret! I am wide awake. Stop giving death threats to your only daughter. I am 23 years old. Show me some respect!" I shouted angrily like a dragon.

I did not want to be angry it causes wrinkles and decreases your life span! But I can't help it, these people boil my blood way too much for me to control!

"Get your 23-year-old a*s down for breakfast before I reach your room and yes brush your teeth. Don't come down like a cavewoman" my mother replied like a leader of a pack.

"Yeah. Coming!" I screamed annoyedly and got off from my bed kicking everything which was coming in my way.

I went to the bathroom to freshen up. I brushed my teeth, and washed my face but I still wasn't completely awakened.

I could still hear my mother's strong voice, probably to wake my brother up. Her next target.

I went down and saw my brother also coming down from the opposite side of the stairs.

"Heyo!" I said looking at my brother, Mark and he replied with a,

"Hola"

"Good morning dear" said my father with a sweet smile and placed a kiss on my cheek.

"What good morning? What is so good about this morning? Your wife just spoiled my morning!" I said in an annoyed sleepy voice.

"So, waking you animals up is spoiling your morning now? You are supposed to wake up in the morning. You do know that, right?" asked my mother with a sarcastic smile.

"Yes, Mrs. Blue. I do know that fact. But the thing is, I have not slept for two weeks because of my exams, as you know. So, it would have been so kind of you, if you would have let me sleep for one or two hours more. But anyways" I replied with the same level of sarcasm.

"Rose!" shouted my mother while glaring at me angrily.

"What? Only you are allowed to use sarcasm in this house? Who made this unfair rule?" I asked looking at my father innocently.

"So, they teach you how to be impolite and rude at medical universities these days?" asked my mother with a fake smile.

"I don't know about being rude but they definitely don't teach us mannerisms" I replied with a mocking smile and my father chuckled.

Before you guys think that I am the epitome of rudeness and murder my character in your head, let me make this clear. My mother and I are really close. She is more like my best friend! We do this bickering every single day and always drag my father into the middle of this and then blame his side of the family in the end. Just our thing to do.

"You are also laughing, Mike! Say something to her!" said My mother angrily glaring at my father.

"Rose. How can you be so impolite to your mother? Apologize to her" said My father in a fake strict tone.

'Ooo, Daddy dinosaur, I am so scared! Dad seriously needs some acting classes' I thought holding my laughter.

"But Dad. You saw how she.." I tried to protest but my father cut me off.

"Be a good girl and apologize to her. If not for her, you had to live with my family your whole life" said My father in a sincere tone, and that was all needed to make me do whatever he wants.

I HATE no one more than my relatives in this entire world!

"I am really sorry mother. Please forgive me." I said apologetically, while standing at my place and bowing like a doll.

"It's okay" said Mother with a chuckle. She knew this was going to happen once my father will take his side of the family's name.

"Dad is right. If not for you then I would have been stuck with those lowly creatures for my entire life. I did wrong. Please forgive me. I am ashamed to my very core." I said dramatically holding her hand in mine.

"It's fine, Rose. Stop overacting!" said Mother laughing while removing her hand from my grip.

"Thank you so much, Mother Mary. You are so kind!" I said looking at her with admiration.

"Uh, why do I have to see such drama every single morning?" asked Mike yawning. I don't know why he is not used to it by now.

He got up from his place and went inside the kitchen to get something.

"Why don't you eat your breakfast quietly?" I asked with a huff.

He turned around and gave me a fake smile before continuing,

"There is no cereal. Go get some cereals for me"

"Why would I? Go get it yourself" My witty self replied back immediately.

Why should I do his work? I don't even eat cereal!

"Why don't you guys go together and buy some cereal" My father suggested with a polite smile and after a long discussion we both agreed and left to buy some cereals.

When we got back home, Mark opened the door with the spare keys so as not to disturb my parents during breakfast. When we were moving towards the dining table, we heard our parents talking seriously with each other.

"But we have to!" said my mother in a painful voice like she was about to tear up.

My mother is known to be an emotionally strong woman. What makes her tear up like that? The curiosity was killing me!

Mark and I looked at each other in confusion. He kept his index finger on his lips signaling me to keep my mouth shut and I nodded in agreement.

"But our kids don't want to go there. You know, Rose will never agree" said Father in a serious tone.

"They are killing my family, Mike! I can't let them kill my whole family!" said Mother in an aching voice.

"Mum's family?" repeated Mark and I in unison. The 'confusion' was an understatement to describe our feelings.

This was brand-new information for us. Since childhood, we have been told that my Father and mother had a love marriage and my mother's side of the family was against it and they didn't accept them. Unlike my father's side of the family who were often quite supportive, even they also barely accepted us.

Our parents said that my maternal side of the family lives far away from us. We never got to see them and we never asked about it because my father said this topic hurts her a lot.

And with all honesty, I am not interested in meeting my paternal side of the family either.

'But why did my father say I will never agree? When I never visited them why wouldn't I agree? Why it is only about me? Mark can also have his opinion on the matter, right?' I started questioning myself and my eyes fell on Mark standing in front of me and I realized something.

Mark is the most unbothered human being to walk on earth. No matter what happens, this sloth won't utter a word. And for some very strange reason, people tend to like him more.

"You know….." Mother tried to say something but then she stopped in the middle of her statement.

"They are here" she whispered to my father.

We both walked quietly, kept the cereal on the table, and sat silently in our respective chairs.

"What happened, mom? Is everything okay?" I asked in a caring tone.

"Um, Yeah" said My mother with a sad smile, her eyes were moist but she didn't let the tear fall.

"You can tell us, mom," said Mark giving her a reassuring look while patting her back gently.

"I will go get some milk" I said giving her a little time.

I kept milk on the table and once again sat on my chair quietly. I had no idea what were they talking about in my absence. But my brother was looking at me and judging by his look I can clearly tell, he was holding his laughter.

"What happened, loser?" I asked while raising my eyebrow in confusion.

With a small mischievous chuckle, he replied,

"You will know who is the real loser after hearing the news"

"What do you mean?" I asked confusedly while looking at Mark then shifted my gazes towards my parents.

"Um. Rose, dear. We are going spend this holiday in Alaska" said Mother in a small voice avoiding any eye contact with me.

My eyes were as white as the moon and I lost the ground under me. My butt dropped on the floor as my legs lost the command of my brain and my brain stopped working!

"What? Alaska?? Over my dead body! Never! This is where they live!" I said in a frustrated tone as soon as I got the hang of the situation.

My brother burst into laughter when he heard me saying it.

"Rose, dear, try to understand" said Father in a pleading tone while holding my mother's hand.

"I am not going to ALASKA! THERE IS NO WAY IN HELL I AM GOING BACK TO ALASKA! please you try to understand, THIS IS WHERE THEY LIVE!”
