CHAPTER 3

Leonard stormed towards Yasmine's ward, he reached to the hermetic door, almost twisting the knob for a quick entry when his gaze caught an interesting scene.

Through the laminated tempered glass window on the door, he saw Yasmine dialoguing with the doctor.

That was none of his business though, but the surprising fact that Yasmine had her hands clasped together, with an expression to be shown mercy caught Leonard's attention.

"What are those two up to, and why the expression?" Leonard murmured, it took him another two minutes to watch them then he decided to twist the knob for a grand entrance.

"Please don't tell my husband." That was the last statement Leonard heard the moment he barged in.

"Don't tell me what?!" His eyes were burning in rage.

"Emm, Mr Crawford, your wife here I…" Yasmine cuts the doctor midway.

"It's nothing Leonard, just a few complications."

A vicious smirk appeared at the corner of Leonard's lips. "Few complications you say!...or you now flirt with even the doctor, and then you plead with him to get into your pants, just like you've done to get pregnant!"

"Leonard!" Yasmine yelled.

"Excuse me!" The doctor yelled. Reasons why Yasmine needed to keep the baby a secret was quite visible to him.

With the test results in his hand, he turned towards Leonard. "It's better to be nothing than being a murderer."

He threw the test result to his face and stormed out.

"Who the hell does he think he is?! I'll make sure you pay." Leonard yelled out, picked the result with great anticipation and loosened the paper from the envelope.

Yasmine gasped and shrugged on the bed, with the doctor's reaction and the test results with Leonard, she knew she was done for it.

Her porcelain skin which glowed bright, got overshadowed by goose bumps, as well as her flawless face flushed red.

She feared less for herself, but the baby. The moment Leonard opened the envelope, Yasmine shrank within her.

"What!" He looked at the result, looked at her interchangeably for five consecutive times.

Yasmine had her heart beating quite faster than usual. Leonard crumpled the paper, and said. "Follow me!"

***

Her heart skipped a bit. "Leonard please don't abort the baby, if you don't want it, I'll keep it without you, just don't kill it. It's innocent."

Yasmine pleaded while he pulled her by the wrist. The more he pulled, the more she pleaded.

Yeah, he was cruel, heartless, and cold towards her but not as killing his own child. He definitely was not a murderer.

Frustrated by her words, he turned and said. "Who is talking about abortion! I said follow me!... Can't you just oblige? At least consider the fact that you climbed to my bed without my will and do this with my will."

"Leonard!" Yasmine cautioned tilting her head to notice the expression on those around them, unfortunately a few patients and visitors passing by heard the qualifying word he used to classify her.

"Hmm, shit of a lady, I never believe some ladies still do such in this civilized world."

"Asking the guy out is more preferred."

"They do that because of money."

Yasmine bit her lips hard, so much to face in a single evening, right there she wished she could draw back the hands of time and never come across anyone known as Leonard Crawford.

If he was the only man left on earth, she'd rather remain single. She cussed inwardly.

"So will you follow now!"

To avoid further embarrassment, she tailed him behind till he reached Isabel's ward.

"Wait here, I'll be back."

Yasmine tried to gather all the strength she had left within her, as she wondered what he came for in another patient's room, only then did she remember a doctor had earlier walked in to tell him about one Isabel Stark which she assumes to be his lover.

Just as Leonard, Yasmine peeped through the door, then she could vaguely see the face of a young lady sitting but bandaged head and hands, Leonard seemed to be so much into her.

He sat by her massaging her foot. Yasmine felt a pin pierce her heart. Even though she was married to him, he was in love with someone else, a more reason she needs to sign the divorce papers, and probably forget about him, but the child!

Subconsciously, her hand found its way to her belly. It was lovely to have a life grow inside of you. She concluded with a smile.

Five minutes passed, ten, then fifteen and Yasmine was still in front of the door, she peeped once again, only to find Leonard still in the same position, he seemed to have even forgotten about her.

Her legs were hurting, stomach rumbled out of hunger, she thought to head towards the lobby but her hunger wouldn't be satisfied, it was quite understandable since she was pregnant.

The best solution was to head home, but how would she do that because it was late, plus she didn't come with her purse. "Maybe he has forgotten me, and there's no harm going in there to call him. I'm his wife right?"

Yasmine encouraged herself, walked into the ward. "Leonard, can we go home please? I'm hungry." She spilled before she noticed the angered looking set of four before her.

"Is this her?" Isabel said weakly In rage. Even though Yasmine was passing through hell, her beauty still shone as ever.

Her slender frame blessed with medium sized bursts, her golden hair which curled down across her shoulders and the hips which were firm enough to make her fit into anything.

Isabel was definitely not a match for her

"The witch who stole my daughter's husband." Mrs Stark retorted.

Even while they spoke, Yasmine wondered why the young lady was bandaged hands and head, but with the light in the room she could clearly see the face of the young lady.

She seemed a lot familiar, she tried hard to connect the cords, going back in memories to draw that picture back to reality.

Yes, that's it! She squealed inwardly, with her jaw subconsciously hanging below. She wanted to scream but before she could a slap landed on her flawless cheek, she attempted to protest nevertheless then another came landing on the next cheek.
