Chapter 2

Author: Against the Flow
The next day, I went to Amy's room and gave her a proper once-over.

She liked wearing tight-fitting dresses that showed off all of her voluptuous curves. She also had a fox-like charm to her, perfect skin, and long legs to die for. In other words, she was a very beautiful woman.

I had seen her stark-naked body last night, and her skin was also flawless and perfect on every inch of her body. It was a lot easier on the eyes compared to my body, which was littered with scars and bruises.

So, it was only natural for men to look at her and feel sexually attracted to her.

I sighed and handed her a check. "Leave."

Amy clenched the check before tearing it up under my nose.

I look at her in shock. Then, my expression turned hard. "You're fired as his psychiatrist. Please leave now!"

Amy just smirked and looked at me smugly. "You're scared."

I felt a conflicted expression arising in me, but I suppressed it. "He's recovered now. He doesn't need you anymore."

Amy shrugged and looked at me meaningfully. "No. He still needs me."

I glared at her coldly, rapidly losing my patience. "What is it that you want?"

Amy grinned lightly and looked like she was thinking. Then, she gloated and said, "I was up all night with Mazy for such a long time last night that I just want to rest properly today."

The pain in my chest kept growing. I suddenly recalled the look of happiness and relief on Mason's face when he'd finally engaged in sexual activities last night for the first time in ages.

Mason had told me he wasn't interested in lovemaking, yet with Amy, he no longer hated it. He didn't care about anything else when he was with her, and could even get a hard-on for her.

The pain and bitterness kept swelling in my heart. I could also feel the jealousy rising in me. Still, I forced myself to suppress it, struggling to maintain my composure.

"Amy, I don't care about whatever just happened between you and him. But it's all over now. Please leave my house."

Amy laughed in my face, sounding every bit disdainful. "I will never leave unless he's the one telling me to leave."

When I saw how shamelessly unreasonable she was, my temper snapped. I pointed furiously at the door and shouted, "Get out of my house! I don't like you, and neither does he!"

Amy thought nothing of it. She just replied in a nonchalant voice, "You're wrong. He told me last night was magical, and that he loved being with me!"

I had restrained myself until now, but at this moment, all hell broke loose. Rage surged through me, my chest heaving with fury. I lost every shred of patience and, without hesitation, called the bodyguards on my phone.

When Amy heard it, she finally began to panic.

"You can't chase me out! I heard that Mazy couldn't get it up in the past, but he can now, after sleeping with me! It's good news for you! You just need to put up with it for a while longer as I cure his bipolar! I'll leave after he's gotten better!"

I could barely keep my breathing even and just screamed at her, "Shut up!"

I really never thought that Amy could be so shameless.

I wanted to give Mason another chance, but I could no longer bear watching my own husband walk in and out of the house with another woman at his side.

Soon, two bodyguards appeared. In a cold, steady voice, I ordered, "Escort this woman out of my house!"

Without hesitation, the bodyguards advanced toward Amy and seized her.

Amy refused to leave and hugged a pillar tightly, stubbornly exclaiming, "I'm not leaving!"

I didn't want to bother myself with her anymore. Just as I turned to leave, my sharp eyes caught the necklace around her neck.

My eyes widened at once, and I trembled in disbelief.

The necklace was all too familiar.

I stepped closer for a better look and confirmed that it was the very necklace my mother had left me. Pointing at it, I asked sharply, "Where did you get this necklace?"

Amy answered smugly, "Mazy gave it to me."

At that moment, I felt my heart drop into my stomach. My eyes instantly welled with tears.

I lowered my gaze, trying my best to hide the hurt in my eyes, and kept my voice as calm as possible.

"He… He gave it to you?"

Amy's gaze wavered like she was considering Mason's words.Just as Mason was about to reach me, Amy suddenly jumped back to her senses and pointed the knife at him instead."You were the one who killed my baby! I'm going to kill you too, once I'm done with her!"Mason stopped dead in his tracks, afraid to move forward. "I know. I admit that I was wrong. If you want revenge, then take it out on me. Don't hurt her," he said.Amy laughed when she heard him say that."She doesn't want you anymore, Mason Longbright! Tell me, do you think this is your karma for being heartless?"Mason nodded. "It's my karma."Amy stopped laughing. Her expression then turned stern as she said, "That's not enough! I'm going to make you pay with your life for my unborn baby too!"Then, she pointed at the edge of the building and barked, "Go ahead, jump! I'll let her go if you jump down now!"Mason just glanced at the edge of the building and remained rooted to his spot.Amy began laughing again, sou

My lips curled in mockery."But you can't even get it up for me."Mason shuddered, his face first turning red and then white.I'd struck him where it mattered the most, and he didn't have any way to defend that.I chuckled coldly and raised my voice, saying, "For the past five years, I felt as though I was in a loveless marriage, Mason Longbright. I felt like a widow. I had thought of giving you a chance in the past, but you wasted it."I've suffered too much both emotionally and physically for all these years. The only memories you left me with are painful ones. There's nothing worth remembering at all."I only left because I was thoroughly exhausted with putting up with you."I hope that you will let me go. Ending this marriage is the best and only choice for us now."This is the final time I am meeting you. In other words, I'm also warning you that you are never to look for me again. Go back and sign the divorce papers. Let us go our separate paths instead."I then stood up

I opened my eyes again and saw Mason trying his best to control his fists. It was written all over his face—he was fighting with everything in him not to hurt me. The veins on his forehead stood out like they were about to burst. This was the first time I'd ever witnessed him stop himself from lashing out during a manic episode. But a second later, Mason suddenly rushed toward the wall, let out a guttural roar, and slammed his head against it over and over. Everyone around us froze in shock. I sighed and pulled

The corners of my lips curled up in a smirk. I looked at Mason disdainfully and said, "The person who changed was you. I never did. The only thing I ever did was to hide my true self just to accommodate you."Mason frowned, a flash of disappointment appearing in his eyes. "But I prefer the older version of you."I didn't even bother looking at him anymore and said coldly, "Too bad. The old me died a long time ago, ever since you began seeing other women."He was dazed and hung his head in remorse. "It was my fault."I was shocked to see him admitting his fault and apologizing to me so readily. What on earth had happened to him?I knew that he had been searching for me for a long time, but I refused to believe that he would cast his ego aside and lower his head before me, trying to placate me or something.I waved my hand at him in frustration, my voice sharp as I snapped, "Stop getting in my way."Mason looked up at once, looking at me calmly and saying, "Michelle, can't we just
