**RORY’S POV**

The second I stepped through the front door, Rosalie practically launched herself at me, her eyes lighting up like I’d just handed her a winning lottery ticket.

“Oooohh! I love you so much! Thank you, baby!” she squealed, snatching the brown paper bag from my hands before I could even fully extend it toward her.

I’d gone out to get her a strawberry milkshake—her latest obsession—but I’d also picked up a couple of chocolate-glazed doughnuts and a pie, just because. Because she was my sister, and because, honestly, I needed the extra time outside to clear my head. The walk back had been slow, deliberate, my thoughts tangled in a way that required more than just a quick stroll to sort out.

This was of course because I had to deal with confronting Jason this morning. I had to really speak to myself and ask myself questions. Like why on earth did I ever date Jason in the first place? I never felt any sort of excitement for him so why?
