RORY’S POV

I stood frozen to the ground feeling like my soul had only just left my body. I could not believe what I had just heard.

My name? My name was being called? As the best dressed of rhe night A.K.A Queen of the night! Is this really happening? Is this happening for real? Am i dreaming?

Ouch! That was a painful pinch.

“Rory?” It was Todd’s voice, cool, calm and soothing to my ears. It was like an anchor admist the noisy hall we were in.

There were people all around us, cheering loudly and starring. All attention was on us.

“Rory?” Todd’s voice came again and this time, I tore my eyes from the people around us and turned to him.

His eyes looked warm and concerned. Immediately, it grounded me and made me a little less tense.

“Are you okay?” He asked me with his hand closing tighter around mine.

I glanced around the crowd and swallowed a lump in my throat before turning back to me.

“Yes. I’m okay.” I said but even my voice sounded shaky, betraying my alleged confidence.
