I crossed my legs and sized them up, then pulled out two contracts.

“Sign here, and you’re hired for the whole summer.

“No quitting halfway for any reason. At the end of the summer, you’ll each get fifteen thousand dollars.

“Perform well, and I’ll throw in five thousand dollars each as a bonus.”

I raised an eyebrow as I watched the two girls eagerly sign their names.

They really had let their guard down.

I looked at the two beautiful, neatly written names and read them out softly, “Shannon and Jadine.”

Shannon Gullocks leaned over the front desk and smiled brightly. “I’m the older sister, sir. I’ll do my best!”

I looked closely at her. Her facial features were already striking, and her skin looked soft. With a little makeup, she would be even more stunning.

Jadine Gullocks mustered up her courage and tried to look confident. She was more delicate, with glistening doe eyes.

My guests would definitely like them.

I got interested and asked, “Why do you trust me so much? Aren’t you afraid I’ll scam you?”

Shannon and Jadine said in near unison, “That’s because you remind us of the guy who used to pay for our schooling. So, we figure anyone who looks that much like him can’t be a bad guy.”

Was that so? I laughed at myself. I never thought the only good deed I had ever done in my life would actually pay off unexpectedly well.

Then, I nodded and picked out two dresses from the cabinet.

Shannon received a black, backless gown that perfectly showcased her curves and long legs.

Jadine got a schoolgirl dress with a short skirt that barely covered her rear. I told her to wear her hair in pigtails.

With her innocent doe eyes, she looked like a terrified rabbit that had wandered into a wolf’s den. She was completely at my mercy and trembling in my grasp.

After they changed, both of them were fidgeting. Their faces were flushed with embarrassment.

I stroked my chin and absentmindedly picked at my stubble. “Not bad. You’re ready to start.

“Remember, whatever the guests here need, you make it happen.”

I led them out and pushed open a door that led to a jacuzzi area. A crowd of attractive, curvy women in swimsuits was already waiting in there.

I lit a cigarette and put it in my mouth. “Head on down.”

Jadine hesitated a little. “Sir, what is this?”

I smiled and pinched her smooth cheek. “A jacuzzi. Consider it a perk.”

Jadine immediately broke into a smile, and Shannon hurriedly thanked me as well. They then entered the jacuzzi.

Someone tossed a watch down from the second floor, and it landed right in Jadine’s hand.

She looked around, confused. Jadine had no idea why every girl was staring at her with a mix of scorn and envy.

Meanwhile, I shut the door and quietly smoked while playing on my phone.

A second later, Jadine’s piercing scream came from inside.

I laughed and spat out a mouthful of blood. “Edward, there’s a secret I never told you.”He stopped in his tracks and shot me a sharp look. “What secret?”My breath was faint. I barely had any strength left. “Come closer. Look at me. Do I really scare you now?”He hesitated for a long time, and I kept talking. “It’s about my mom.”His expression shifted slightly, and he crouched down to listen. I leaned close to his ear and said, “When I was going through my mom’s things, a letter fell out. She said she was willing to die for you.”His breathing grew ragged. He glared at me fiercely. “What else did she say?”My smile widened as my hand moved toward my pocket. “She said she loved you. She’ll be waiting for you in the underworld.”The next moment, blood splattered. I drove the small knife Shannon had left me into his neck. This knife had originally been meant for the two of us. If one of us did not die outright, the other was supposed to end our suffering. He clutched his nec

I looked completely unbothered. A slap on the wrist like that could never make up for Jadine’s death or all the years of suffering I had endured.Shannon gently set a small bag down on the stool. Before ending it all, I wanted to ask a few questions. I looked at Edward and asked, “Did you ever regret what happened to my mom?”He shook his head calmly. Then, I looked at George. “You’re the one who killed Jadine. I want you to apologize to her in front of her grave. Loud enough for everyone to hear. Three times. I want you to own up to what you did. Will you do it?”George was furious. “You want me to apologize to a loose woman? Jordan, have you lost your mind?”He lunged at me, aiming to strike, but Edward’s butler, Keith Lance, held him back. Keith barely moved, yet George could not shift even half an inch. I knew full well he was not just any butler.Edward had been guarding against me. I laughed openly and without holding back. “Fine then. Go keep her company in the under

I stared at the bag and headed to the warehouse without a moment’s hesitation.Along the way, I thought about a lot of things. I realized I had truly accomplished nothing in this life. I had failed to protect my mother, and I had failed to kill my father. Then, I had failed to make it to the end with the woman I loved. All in all, I had lived a wretched, meaningless life. So, I decided to drag some people down with me.When I reached the warehouse, Shannon was tied up in the middle. The moment she saw me, tears streamed down her face. She was usually gentle and obedient. However, at this moment, she screamed at me, “Go! Why did you even come?”I sat down beside her with the bag on my back and pointed at the sunset with a smile. “Look. The sunset’s gorgeous. Being alive is the greatest.”However, there was a bomb in my bag that was ready to go off at any moment.I stood up, held her head, and kissed her deeply. “Shannon, promise me you’ll live.”She was in despair as she sobb

By the time I got there, the VIP room was a total wreck. Jadine lay in the middle of it.I was so furious that I screamed at George and everyone else there, “I’ll kill anyone who tries to stop me!”Nobody blocked my way. However, George, who was lurking in the shadows, just laughed. “She’s already dead. Take her if you want.”Panic hit me, and my body started trembling uncontrollably. That was when I finally realized that something was wrong with her. I dropped to my knees and gently patted her face, sobbing. “Jadine! Jadine, it’s Jordan. I’m here. Wake up. Come on, wake up!”No matter how frantically I shouted, her glistening eyes never opened again. When I let go, her arm fell limply. The last bit of warmth in her skin slowly went cold, and the chaotic, flickering lights faded away.Under the harsh lights, I finally saw the full extent of her injuries. Jadine had been tortured beyond recognition. She had been tortured so savagely that no one showed her even a shred of decen

When I woke up, the first person I saw was Shannon, fast asleep. Jadine noticed I was awake and started to say something. I put a finger to my lips, so she just looked at me and kept quiet.I gently pulled my hand out of Shannon’s grip. Even that small movement was enough to wake her. She opened her eyes and looked at me. They were red and swollen from crying. She threw her arms around me. “The doctor said... he said you...”I cut her off with a calm smile. “That I don’t have much time left. I know. It’s okay. I’ll just be living on in a different way.”I waved Jadine over, and she came toward me with her head down.I coughed a few times before I could speak. “Stop following me. Move to another city and focus on your studies. They won’t dare make too big a scene.”Shannon shook her head. “I’m not leaving! I’ll earn the money for your medical bills!”Jadine refused, too. She looked at Shannon and me with a complicated expression. “I’m not leaving either. After all, you’re the g

“I don’t have much time left, George. Don’t think for a second I don’t know what you’re up to. “You’ve watched me get more and more successful working under your father all these years, and it’s been eating at you. Now you want to take me down and take everything I’ve got.“You’ve been with every kind of woman out there. There’s no way you’d lose control like some wild animal that easily.”George stopped what he was doing and looked at me like nothing had happened. Then, he poured himself a row of shots and said casually, “Jordan, you’ve made a fortune these past ten years. You’ve completely outshone me. “Even my father’s men say you’re more like his son than I am. Isn’t that right?”I sneered. “Cut the nonsense! My business, all of it, goes to you. I don’t want a single cent!“Remember this, George. I fought my way up on my own! If you don’t let them go, and if you push me too far, I’ll go all out and fight you to the death today!”I patted my pocket as a warning. He did no
