She went straight to her first-period class, leaving the guy in a rush. As she felt embarrassed on the way she left him without a word of thank you for giving her a ride.
He made her blush while pondering the question he asked her. It’s a blessing in disguise, they aren’t classmates in her first class. What a first-time feeling to be in such an uncomfortable situation.
But why is she feeling this way? He just asked her if she has a boyfriend. She’s not imagining he wants to flirt with her. But basically, she’s assuming that. “Scratched away that thought, Cara Nathalia!” She warned herself. She’s not interested in him. “You’re just, schoolmates.” That should be her thought.
“Hey, what are you thinking?” Another guy from X-Men. She means another guy who’s appearing in front of her without giving her prior notice like they have a teleporting ability.
“What’s your name again?” She asked him as she forgot it but remembered him as the neighbor who had just recently transferred.
“You really forgot about me, huh? Will Anderson is my full name. I am your childhood playmate slash childhood friend slash handsome neighbor. Maybe because you were so young back then, you forgot about me. But I remember you, though we have the same age.” Well, nice one for his introduction.
“You forgot another thing, are we classmates?” She reacted to him, being curious about why he turned up here in her class.
“We’re actually classmates from the beginning.” What? She doesn’t notice him before. She looked at him, feeling wondered.
“You didn’t notice me because you always seem busy while reading books of yours.” He filled in her thoughts.
“Oh, well.” She simply reacted and was amused by herself.
Well, he has a point. Jean is the only person who can talk to her while she’s reading books. And the only person she sees in the class is their professor.
That she calls herself a loner, but she’s not introverted. Talking or gossiping with her classmates is also not her thing.
While being occupied, she also thought to excuse herself from him. As she said, she hates chit-chatting inside the classroom. But this guy continued the conversation.
“By the way, what’s the thing you are thinking about earlier? If you don’t mind my asking. It’s a miracle that you’re not reading a book today.”
“I’m about to do that, but you’re interrupting me.” She reacted in her thoughts.
“Were you studying me?” The thing she actually said.
“No, I’m not.” He answered instantly. Then whispered. “I’m going back to my seat. Talk to you later.” She realized he said it because the professor has finally arrived.
He went back to his seat at the back while she sits in the front. The professor started his anatomy class. She straightened her seat and focused on the lecture. She erased the thoughts that interrupted her normal thinking.
“Let’s meet today. I have something to give you about our project.”
While concentrating on the lecture. She received a text from Vince, disturbing her fixed mind. And what is the thing he wants to give her? She ignored his text and get back to listening to the professor.
A minute later, her phone vibrated again. But she ignored it again by not opening her phone. Then, a little later, her classmate beside her handed her a piece of paper with a note saying; “R.S.V.P.”
She looked out the classroom window to see his shadow, but he wasn’t there. Anyway, she shrugged. Continued back again with the lecture. But she’s feeling uncomfortable with his little annoying game.
She gets her phone and typed a word to reply to him at the very least she expected of herself.
“Fine, wait for me at the cafeteria before lunch.”
The bell rang, and her anatomy class has ended. She’s taking her time in gathering her things while she’s actually in an alarming mode that Vince is waiting for her in the cafeteria to see her again.
“Hey, are you in a rush to dodge me?” She heard a masculine voice in her behind, walking near her. She had already forgotten this guy who lined up to catch up with her.
She turned to him to explain herself. “I need to meet up with someone in the cafeteria. Let’s catch up later, okay.” She said and excused herself to him. But she remembered a thing her mother wished for them. She looked back at him again and gave him her number.
“Call me later at that number. Mom wants you to help me recall my wonderful childhood memory.” While thinking about it. She remembered something a while ago. She thought her mother wants her to forget her past as Jean told her about it. Yet, she’s feeling skeptical about her mother wanting her to catch up with Will.
She walked out and left him in the classroom, not even seeing his reaction. She arrived at the cafeteria looking for the person she will meet.
When she noticed some girls laughing and giggling in the middle corner of the cafeteria. Her eyes had suddenly stopped looking and stared at them. As she found out, the only guy who’s sitting with those girls is the one she is about to meet.
She turned her back for her to leave, but Vince called her name that he already had seen her face.
Her face blushed again with the way he called her. She felt embarrassed thinking that she becomes the center of attraction. And because she hates that kind of attraction, she continued her walk outside of the cafeteria.
She looked like an idiot running away from him. She’s like a jealous girlfriend who is hurt by his playful charm. What the heck she was thinking again?
“Hey, Cara!” Vince called her again. But this time, they were outside. She turned to him while doing her best to feign. She’s thinking of a word to tell him, but she’s helpless.
But Vince, instead of asking her. He grabbed her hand to follow his lead while thinking of where are they going. She suddenly remembered this situation of them in her dream, but thinking of it again becomes blurry.
“Yeah, she’s wearing a costume of Maleficent. Can’t you imagine that? When she found out about her blind date, is none other than, me? She walked out and run away on the road, still wearing her cape and headdress. She embarrassed herself in front of me. What a pity.” “That's because she’s not even equal to your handsomeness. What a pathetic woman.” The girl he doesn’t know her name wearing a very short skirt and cheerleading uniform with her lipstick on commented on him. While waiting for Cara, a group of cheerleaders joined his table at the cafeteria. “We actually fit if I wore the costume of Hulk.” The girls laughed and giggled at his joke. He tells them a story about one of his terrible experiences on blind dates. After that blind date, he never did it again. While chatting with the girls, he saw Cara looking at him with her furrowed face. He called her name immediately to wake her attention as she would leave without even seeing him. Despite calling her, she continued her walk a
Her body is in so much sweat while searching the thing all over their house from every room through every single corner. She went back and forth from the living room to the kitchen. She looked for it again and again in the front and back yard of their house. But she couldn’t find it. If her parents will arrive now, they would think a thief had entered their house. Because the house is in so much mess right now. She went back to her room and rested her body on her bed. She stopped moving for a bit moment and closed her eyes to focus her mind on the thing she was looking for from the second she woke up from her dream. Yet, her memory is empty. She really can’t remember where she put that damn sketch of that man in her dream. Then she remembered Jean. Her best friend had shown her the picture of the sketch and remembered Vince's face again. But considering the dream she had a while ago; their character was different. She believes the person in her dream is not the person she had met re
She recalled the dream she had in her therapy. Noting every detail in her diary, her doctor advised her to do it for her mind and not to forget it again. The step-by-step solution for her dream behavior that Jean prescribed her is something like she writes a fiction story about herself. She noted every dream she had lately, and the dream she had during her last therapy session. He believes it was a memory of her as she thinks about it. But a dream is a thing that our subconscious minds speak about. However, her dream is not about her subconscious thoughts, but it’s like a memory. Well, it’s all the same. Her head is scrutinizing it again. She closed her diary when her professor walked in the middle, nearing closer to her seat. She’s back on listening to his discussion so she does not get caught on doing other things on her desk. Her class ends with her thoughts still occupied by her dream. She went straight to the powder room to do things a girl should do after class, retouching her
What happened in the library has nothing to do with his purpose of following her a while ago. And as far as he remembers, he’s just a good Samaritan who helped her when he saw her suddenly faint in front of him. “The stalker. Are you the one stalking me at the library?” Cara answered his question frankly. He did not know what she was talking about. The important thing he intends to ask her about got suddenly switched. He wants to blame his slipped tongue for it. “Right, let’s clarify the misunderstanding. First, I wasn’t the one stalking you at the library and earlier in the corridor. Second, why do you think someone was stalking you like you’re always being paranoid? And last, what really happened to you at the library? Do you have a death threat? I just found you looking frightened and when I came near you, you suddenly fainted.” She’s not suspecting him. She just needs someone to blame for her little absurdity. “Maybe because you happened to be there twice when I thought there w
“I have a room, for you to rest. If you don’t mind, I’ll show you.” There he goes again. She’s discerning he would bring her into a dark place again, like last time in the school theater. She also remembers the dream she had with his face. There have some points of his character that look the same as the man’s character she dreamed of. And the feeling that she had in her dream is being the same as this man in reality. “I’m good. Don’t bother.” She answered him, pretending like she had no interest. Getting back to her right senses. She ignores the feeling she had earlier. “Um, if next time you want to sleep in the library, you can hide in that room where no one can bother you.” He insisted, displaying his striking and hypnotizing beam. As she easily swayed by it, discerning to fall on his hands again. “Even you?” She asked in her thoughts. “Where’s the place?” But she uttered a different question, expecting her thoughts to happen. “Follow me. And ask no more questions. Only me and
“Don’t move your body. I’ll find some help. I promise I’ll get back here.” She reassured him but inside her, she was feeling helpless, panicking, and anxious that she can’t able to help him. They finally escaped from the wild pig. But while running away from it. They fell unexpectedly into a deep hole animal trap. He can’t able to move his body as he used his adrenaline rush to protect her from hurting her body from falling. He pushed her to get her up from the trap, leaving himself in that deep hole. And now, he’s the one who needs some help because he was a gentleboy to her. She left him in the middle of a wild forest to look for help. Every footstep she passed; she’s leaving a trace for her not to lose him. She used twigs she found on her way to fix it on the ground for her to look back on it when she returns to him. The sun is setting down and she feels no ray of sunlight hitting her flesh. She needs to find somebody to help her before the night will show up. Until seconds later
Her school attendance was almost perfect to where she can slack off anytime. Not that bad in her grades if she will be absent at the acquaintance party. She thought so. “Hey, don’t tell me you’re not interested to come?” Her friend’s mind is more advance than her. “Hmm, I’ll be interested if you tell me who will be your date first.” For a very long time, she was her friend, not even at any moment did she remembers her friend was dating any guy. Or maybe her love life was so private for her to know it, even if she was her best friend. Though her friend has five years ahead of her, it is not a reason for her not to tell her about her dating the opposite gender. “I’ll introduce him to you soon, don’t be so excited.” Oh, really. Her eyes broadened in surprise. “Thank God, finally! You allow me to know your dating status. I could say, I’m not a girl anymore but a grown-up individual who’s ready to listen to some relationship matter of my best friend.” She reacted to her friend while tea
You had the sweetest smile I will never forget, even when I grow up. I wrote a journal from the day I met you when you played with me with your true and humble character. Thank you for all the things you helped me get through my difficulties as one pathetic outsider. I wrote every detail for you to remember every day of our days together playing on our favorite spot. Never forget me when I leave. I promise I will return to find you. Please don’t cry if you heard I left this town. My new family will take care of me from now on. I will send you letters to get in touch with you the moment I step foot on the doorstep of my new parents. Goodbye Cara. See you again when we grow old. “I have a favor to ask you for the last time we are cousins. Please give this to Cara after I leave. It will be your conscience if you will be a bad boy again.” It was the first and last favor his cousin Vince asked him before he went to his new family, which gave him the reason to retaliate against him. He’s
