LOGINFor the next two days, Andre didn't step out. His mom had cried, begging him to step out and take something but he wouldn't answer. Felix also came with his girlfriend Lisa and did the same but Andre will not talk to anyone.
On the third day, Andre stepped out, his wounds getting healed but needed to be treated again. Alice saw him and she gasped, it's Christmas eve and he stepped out. May the blessings of this season wash away his pains and replace them with happiness untold. “Andre my son” Alice chimed and went to hug him. But he was cold, he didn't wrap his arms around her as expected. Alice didn't feel offended, she placed her hands on his shoulder and saw how emaciated he'd become. His eyes were red and hollow and his lips were dry like a malnourished child. “Why are you doing this to yourself Andre. Jasmine is happy with her marriage to another man. If you keep hurting yourself besides the one she'd inflicted on you, you'll make her feel she owns your breath and she controls your heartbeat” Alice persuaded. “I loved her mom, but she left me instead,” Andre said in a shaking voice. He doesn't understand why she would leave him after so much love they shared, happiness they brought into each other's lives. Was it because of money or his unknown identity? “Yes, she did and there's nothing we can do about her choice and decision. A phase of your life ended with her. Brace up, you've stepped into another phase now, a better one at that. And I pray for you that this season brings you a whole lot of happiness and blessings…” Alice coaxed more. She brought him over and gave him his breakfast. Andre couldn't eat. He claimed not to have an appetite for anything. But he needed to step out and take a walk in the snow. Something that might help reduce the burdens that clumped his heart. “Alright, go well son” Alice said and Andre stepped out cladded in a hood and a canvas. He wore gloves and placed his arms in his jacked pockets. He was gently walking the street and saw people going about, preparing for Christmas. He could hear the jingles, the homes lights up and the Christmas tree being decorated. But unlike others, his heart was dark and his life felt empty. For many years now, Jasmine and himself always spent Christmas Eve together and it's usually a great time on the 25th of December. But all seems empty now. No joy, no excitement and nothing intrigues him about the moment. It's like every normal day to him. How he wished this was just a midsummer’s night dream that when he wakes up, he'll find it all gone and Jasmine will be by his side again. As he kept going, he saw a car stuck in the snow. The driver was perhaps an inexperienced driver on that street. He came over and saw him struggling, he glanced at him and without a word, went over to him. “Do you need help?” He asked, observing the tyres. They've lost traction and the only way to get it out was for it to regain it again. But the car is expensive and sophisticated. “Yeah, buddy,” the driver replied, clasping his hands together. If he hadn't been carrying his boss, it would have been better. But now, his job was not only at stake, but his life will not know peace until everything gets better. Andre glanced around, there was no shovel or any flat object to use in clearing the snow away. Having no option, he pulled his jacket off and used his hands to clear the snow. He instructed the driver to go in and “gently rock the car back and forth by shifting between the drive and reverse..” “Yeah” the driver said and was doing that. Andre kept clearing the snow away, moving swiftly from one tyre to the other “gently accelerate but don't keep spinning the wheels” his words were followed by steam and at this time, he was shivering and freezing. They continued until eventually the car regained traction and moved. The driver wanted to stop because Andre was freezing and he screamed “go faster now buddy” and waved at them. Now his teeth were shattering, his clothes were soaked and covered in snow. He needed to return home but his feet stiffened. Looks like his blood was getting frozen. The only thing he could do was bring his phone out and called Felix “I'm freezing, on the street” he said and fell down. “Sorry ma'am” the driver apologized but his boss didn't hear him. She was glancing behind at the man that helped them. He was freezing and yet urged them to leave. What if something bad happened to him? Her heart started beating fast when she saw that the man couldn't move “Turn around and save that man” his boss ordered. That man might get frozen because of them. How can he suffer such fate because he gave them a helping hand? The car heater was turned on and yet, she was still hugging herself to remain warm. And the young man, he might die. But she became helpless when the driver said “We would get stuck again ma'am, that's why he said we should go quickly…” he explained. She sighed helplessly and seeing the rain of snow falling, she hoped the man survived. He appears to be a young man but may the Almighty keep him safe for the sake of the happiness of the season. A few hours later, Andre opened his eyes on his bed. His joints pained him and he glanced around. Felix was typing on his computer and he observed him for a while without moving or saying a word. He came to save him. Thank goodness that he went along with his phone this time. He felt weak and was going to call Felix when he beat him to it “what were you thinking, Andre, that you stepped out without a jacket?” He asked without glancing at him. Andre was shocked. His jacket? Oh goodness, he'd pulled it off to enable him shoved the snow away from the tyre more freely. That must be it, that is the reason why he got frozen in the snow so easily. “I did, Felix but I pulled it off… he was saying when his mother got in and he paused. She saw Andre awake and her tears cascaded down her cheeks. He survived, he got back to himself again. “Mom!” Andre called, seeing his mother's tears. What happened to her? Why is she crying? Is it because of him? Obviously it must be. “You should have asked me, I would have suggested a more convenient way to commit suicide rather than being stucked in the snow. Why didn't you ask me Andre?” Alice helped, her eyes reddened. “What nonsense are you talking about mom?” Andre scowled.“…And please, I don't appreciate this kind of closeness existing between us. Let's streamline the relationship to mere colleagues and team mates. I don't owe anyone an explanation on who I want to be with and that includes you. Now tell me, where do you want me to drop you off?” Andre demanded, his voice bland and emotionless. He glared at her and Rita said “Drop me off now” Without a word, Andre parked by the side of the road and unlocked the automatic lock. “Andre, you'll regret this, that you rejected my company…” “I will regret nothing, Rita. Get out” Andre thundered, grievance visibly expressed on his face. As soon as Rita alighted and shut the door, he zoomed off, going in the direction of the Wood's Electroworld. But inwardly, Andre was surprised at his actions a few minutes ago. A lady was upset with him and requested him to drop her off and he immediately did that. That's unlike him. He could have persuaded her against her abrupt decision. And that
When Regina left, Andre sighed softly. He turned and glanced at his mother, “Are you alright mom?” He asked. Even though she appeared alright and smiling, he just needed to ask all the same. “Of course I am,” Alice replied, walking over to stand before her son. She ran her hands over his shoulders and said “today, you didn't speak as Andre Torello. I have never heard you speak to anyone like that before. You spoke like Andre Kamal, the prince of Ashanti Kingdom. Your identity is already reflecting on your person and the way you speak and I am proud of you. And I want to proudly assure you that you have my support in whatever decision you take. Take everything back my prince. You must go ahead with your decision. That's what makes you a royalty. You can't back down on your words nor will you consider pardon. Take everything back, I am with you on this, do it, prince Andre” Alice urged. She wants Regina Logan and her family to suffer for what they did to Andre. Sinc
Regina couldn't retort but simply turned around and walked as fast as her legs could carry her. She didn't expect this outcome. Those she detested so much, are now mocking her simply because she doesn't have the keys to her penthouse yet, Even the quiet easy going Andre has turned out to have the temper of a hungry Lion. She needs to tell James what she'd just seen and heard. Nothing amuses her as much as the request for a refund of all he'd given to them. That is never going to happen. If she needs to kneel before Patrick to put this loser in his place, then she would. No matter what happens, he still cannot be compared with Patrick, her son in-law. She doesn't know how he made his money overnight, but waking up one day and owning a villa is questionable. And even at that, she still hasn't accepted the fact that they owned it. They might just be caretakers, that's all. As she hurriedly stepped into her apartment, Regina yelled “James…James…are you even there at
“And you're that wild chicken who thinks she can fly with the wings of a phoenix,” Alice retorted. Her smile is getting broader. This lousy woman dared to come to her home and invariably called her a wild chicken. Regina sneered and eyed Alice. Beyond her words, she knows Alice was insulting her. She thinks she can get back at her with her words? No way. “I can assure you that this woman here will be the bone that will choke your throat. You just wait and let the owner of the house come, I'll make sure he or she fires you. This is my promise to you” Regina bragged. Alice should have known what she was capable of doing. As long as they remain in that city, she would forever remain her nightmares. And this job she just got, will be withdrawn from her, when she's done talking with her employer. “Oh really? Are you really going to have me reported?” Alice acted all scared and broke out into a loud laughter. This woman is so gullible. How does she expect that there would b
When Andre announced that he was taking Camella home, Prince Clifford said he must be getting his bodyguards immediately. He cannot let him be alone henceforth. “I'll be fine dad” Andre assured but Clifford said “You're a prince Andre, things are different now. You'll have to be driven home with a different car. And by tomorrow, we need to meet. There's a lot to discuss. Against all persuasion, Andre ended up with two different bodyguards. As he dropped Camella off, he stepped out to walk her into the house. “Thanks Cam, for today” he appreciated, intertwining his fingers with hers. He took a step further and paused, when Camella was not moving. “You're welcome” and smiled. She wants him to hold her, to hug her and kiss her, but he appeared not to be thinking within that line. “You don't want me to walk you in?” He asked and Camella shrugged. He nodded and said, “see you tomorrow then” and smiled before going away. Camella waves at him as he leaves before getting in. She
“My baby, my son” Charlotte cried, holding her son so dearly. She was barely above his chest but not to his shoulders. He was a bit taller than Clifford because she was still able to reach her husband's shoulders when she hugged him. “I thought I was abandoned by my parents. I didn't want to ever meet them. I developed only hatred for them in my heart because I assumed I was unloved. I couldn't easily accept you…” Andre choked and sniffled. “Princes don't cry, Andre, leave tears for the princesses. You should keep cool and keep your tears until you are alone, behind closed doors "Prince Clifford cautioned. “This prince here cannot help it, father,” Andre replied, still holding his mother. He felt secured in her hands. As her feminine hand wrapped around his waist, he could only feel love in its purest form. Camella was right, he was surrounded by those who truly loved him. He leaned over, kissed his mother's temple and held her further. He knew she was sobbing and a
