Chapter 1

"I'm sorry, Jane, your promotion as a Department Manager will no longer push through. Mr. Gibbson said sadly, he's the head of the Marketing department and Jane was his Executive Assistant. 

               Jane held down her head to hide away her disappointment and tears. She didnt expect that she wouldnt achieve the promotion that she worked hard for. She avoided to make eye contact and looked out the window. Her attention caught by a Mercedez that was slowly stopping infront of the building of Parc Industries. She can clearly see a great looking man comming out the car. She was amazed of the persons appearance and was lost in thought.

              "Jane? Did you hear what I said? asked Mr. Gibbson. Jane sighed and faced him. "All promotions had been frozen, they have not approve any promotions that includes yours Jane, I'm so sorry"

              "I understand Mr. Gibbson, I know that you have tried your best to make this happen for me"

              "Jane, you deserved the promotion, unfortunately the execcutives did not approved my proposal, This was what Mr. Dan Parc wanted, and they always follow what he wants.  Mr. Gibbson explained. 

              "Dan Parc? asked Jane, baffled of the information. "Who is Dan Parc? she continued. She never heard of this name apart from the last name which is the companies name, she's baffeld as the owner has passed away and as far as she knew the owner didnt have children.

              Jane knew that there are a lot of changes in the company since the tradgic death of the CEO Mr. John Parc. He died in a car accident with his Buisness Parner Mr. Martin Jones 3 months ago. Since then people in the company are worried about the stability of the company. Many believe that the company may face closure. It's not a secret that the company has financial problems but everyone is hopeful that the company will keep standing and rise stronger again as it did before. 

              While she was deep in thought, they didnt notice that the conference door suddenly opened. They both turned and stood up in complete schock when they saw who came in. 

              Jane froze in place, when she saw that the man who came in was staring at her. She felt a cold sweat dropping from her back and felt electricuted with his stares. However, she can sense in his eyes deep sadness, she looked at him adoring his nice symetric long nose and his kissable red lips. Gosh, she was staring at the most hauntingly handsome face she had ever seen in her life. 

              "Hello James, he greeted Mr. Gibbson. "I'm Dan Parc" and you are? He smiled and offer his hand to introducing himself to Jane. Jane was still sat down staring at this gorgeous young man infront of her. She couldn't get herself to stand up, she felt like she's been nailed down the chair and could't speak, she couldn't even reach his hand to shake it. Mr. Gibbson elbowed her slowly to get her attention, he pulled her up to get her back to her senses and laughed awkwardly. 

              "Welcome back Dan" greeted Mr. Gibbson. He didn't care to look at him as he was still staring at Jane. He was giggling in secret as he was enjoying Janes reaction.  

                                                                         2.

  "Oh my God" he's stunning, is my boobs hanging out? Why is he staring at me like that? Do I have dirt in my face? my shirt? oh no? do I have something in my teeth. Oh jeezz, this is embarrasing. 

          "This is Jane Devi, Executive assistant in our Marketing Department. Mr. Gibbson Introduced Jane. 

          "Hi Jane, he uttered. 

          "So you're Jane Devi. We'll be working together," Dan said. "Please have a seat. 

           So this is the person who is responsible for not getting my long awaited promotion. 

          "Mr. Gibbson, I understand that you are ready to retire? Please let me know if you needed anything. I'll make sure that your benefits are secured. 

          "Thank you Dan, you are as good as your father and I think this company is in good hands. I wish you good luck not that you need it. I am for sure that you can bring back your fathers comapny into its former glory. 

          "How did I not know that he has a son? I thought Mr. Parc didnt have any children at all. It has been 3 years since Jane started working in Parc Industries but she never thought of going through the owners personal life. Mr. Parc was never spoken about his family so she thought he never had any. She looked at Dan again, she adored on how nicely his tux fitted him. The very first thing she noticed when she saw him come out from the car earlier. Dan suddenly looked back and caught Janes stares. She noticed how sad Dans eyes were. 

          "Mr. Parc, she uttered. 

          "Please call me Dan, Mr. Parc is my father. Anyway we are going to be working together. I may be the CEO but I'll be personallu running the Marketing Department while we don't have anyone to replace Mr. Gibbson. I want to learn everything about the company especially this department. 

                                                                       3.

 I will need your complete cooperation, is that understood? Ms. Devi? said Dan with a seriously face. 

      Jane nodded " I understand. I will do the best I can to be contribute for the company. 

      "And Oh Jane, if it's possible wear something much more suitable for your line of work. I would need to take you with me to meetings with important people, can you dress elegantly please. 

      It felt like she was dropped into a bucket of ice, She felt insulted. Did he just insulted me? after he cancelled my promotion this what he is going to say to me? I prove to you that I am better than what you think" Jane thought in silence. 

      It felt like she was punched in the heart with that insult. 

     "Understood" her voice hardened as she answered Dan. She felt sudden heat in her face the same feeling she gets when she's angry and about to blow up. Did he noticed my reaction? she asked herself worried that he might have seen her mood changed, he was about to speak when Jane interrupted. 

     "I'll leave first so you can both talk" She stood up. I have a lot of important work to do, It was nice to finally meet you Dan. She turned her back on them and left. 

     Jane could not sleep that night, Dan's face keep appearing in her thoughts especially the sad looks in his eyes.

What mystery does those eyes hide,She wondered. Even if she was upset of what he said to her earlier she was still curious and wanted to know the secrets that is hidden behind those sad eyes. She wanted to know why she couldn't see any glimpse of happines in his eyes. She wondered, and thought. His eyes looks like he's begging for help, help in what? She could not understand why she felt the need to help him. 

      She closed her eyes and it was till Dans face she sees, He was smiling, his lips are calling for a kiss. She woke herself up, startled of her thoughts? What the hell is she thinking about? I can't fantasize such arrogant, self absorb man like him. 

      She got out herself out from bed, head to the pantry to make herslef some coffee, when all of the sudden her phone beeped, she received a text message. 

      Girl, I need to go somewhere tomorrow morning. Please can you come with me? I'll pick you up your place. See you. Thanks. 

      Jane smiled and thought, what on earth is she up to now? She thought as she giggled. "Oh right, maybe I could ask her to come with me to go clothes shopping too, she sighed of the thought of her being told to rethink her wardrobe" she smacked her forehead. 3 years working for this company this is the first time I was told off about my wardrobe? what's wrong with my Pants and Blouse? Aren't it official enough. She sighed of the thought.

 Jane looked at herself in the mirror and closely examined herself. A lot of people think I'm pretty, am I really? But why has she not able to get a suitable mate. She thought as she examind herself in the mirror. Jane was tall, petit woman with small waist and quite a gifted breast and hips. Although her nose is small it was quite long and complement her hear shape face, almond eyes and red lips. 

       Morning came, Jane was ready for her friend Roxanne to knock on her door. She rarely goes out on a Saturday but she could not resist her friend when she ask her to go out with her. She opened her door for Roxanne and was greeted with a laugh " What the hell Jane, is that what you're wearing today. Go back inside and change! Roxanne scavenged Janes wardrobe and took out a greyish silhoute spaghetti strap and a tight jeans that hugs Janes nice formed hips. This is the one I want you to wear, go on then and change. She sighed and took off her clothes. "Why do I have to wear this? She asked! Where are we going anyway? Ypu still haven't told me that! 

      "After this, you need to come with me and buy some clothes for work! Apparently I have to rethink my wardrobe! She uttered is embarrasment. 

     "Defently, finally I can burn all those old clothes you have. Jane you are gorgeous and with amazing body. I don't know why you hide that away with those crap you have in your closet. Roxanne laughed as she told Jane off. 

     "Alright! enough with the insult, I thought you are my friend. She sighed. 

     "I am, that's why I am telling you to burn that old clothes of yours, I can't cope with your whinning about love anymore Jane. Your clothes are the reason why you can't get a man! 

    "Well I don't think it is, but I have to buy more clothes anyway, so whateber you say!

    "Jane, I also need to go to my Pyschic, I need to know my future today!Roxanned asked 

    "WHAT? is that where we're going today? This is such a wast of time Roxanne, you know I don't believe in that crap. Jane shrugged. 

   " Well I do and you have to come with me or else I am not going to help you buy clothes. Roxanne threatend.

  "Just to tell you Jane, the Psychic that I am seeing is not Fake like all those other Psycich that other people know. She got her own website and she published a booked. Roxanne Added. 

     "Oh wow, I didnt know that they can't just get website and publish a book. This is silly, those things are lies. You're just wasting your time and money for that con artist. Jane eclaimed. 

     "Whatever, are you coming or not? Roxanne rolled her eyes in frustration. 

     "Okay, Okay, Im comming! Shouted Jane. 

     They left the flat and drove off, "Really Jane, I hear about your promotion "I'm sorry you it didn't happen for you. I know that you worked hard for that. I heard that Mr. Parc has different plans for the company and there will be a lot of changes. Everyone thinks that he is very strict, stricter than his dad. Oh I wish that Mr. Parc didn't suddenly pass away. He was a great boss. Roxanne explained. "Though I am thankful that it's Dan who si running the company and not Ms. Devlin Scott" Ooooof her name suits her well. Roxanne laughed! Not only she has a awful attitude but she also look down on people, Roxanne Added. 

    "Well she was born rich in a family that has been rich for their entire life in many generations. Explained Jane, She is Mr. Jones daughter, her father influenced her a lot with her attitude. I have never liked the man, I think he was rude. Jane Added. 

    "To be honest with you, I never knew that our boss had a child, I have always thought that he was a single man as he wasn't really open in talking about his family. Explained Jane. 

    "What? for 3 years in the company you never thought of researching about our bosses family? That is impossible Jane, I can't believe you. Roxanne was shock with the thought. 

   "Well, I never did had the chance didn't I? I was always busy and also, he never showed up in the company before! Jane explained. 

   "Fair enough, Roxanned agreed. So you probably have thought that it was Devlin who's taking over? Roxanne asked. 

   "Well, I never thought she would, she was never interested in her fathers work anyway and she knew nothing. She only know how to make the office staffs life misserable and ohh she also know how to spend her daddy money" They laughed at the thought. 

   "Didnt you meet Mr. Parc yesterday in the conference room? Roxanne asked. 

   "How did you know that? Joanne startled. She didn't want to tell Roxanne that it was Dan who told her about her wardrobe. 

   "The office is a world of gossip, nothing goes past anyone in there. Roxanne smirked.

"You Roxanne, I can see you living happily in a differnet country"

"Ohgee this is it - What do you see Madam Aurora? which country is it?

"I can see you living happily in Australia"

Roxanne was very disapoointed

"But Madam, I'm not planning to go to Australia, I was thinking of going to Paris. Said Roxanne. 

"Oh yeah, it is Paris" Psychic said. 

Jane, smirked and rolled her eyes with the lies she's hearing from this person. 

"You'll be selling your properties and live a comforable life in Paris"

"I don't have any properties here, I'm just renting an apartment and my car is a company car. 

"Maybe, a lot or something? Psychic said"

"She does have a phone?" Interupted Jane

"Oh yea you will be selling your phone!! 

Jane can't help but to burst out laughing with all the crap this Old Lady is saying. She knew this is a total Hocum. 

"Stop laughing Jane, people are looking at you! It's embarrassing! Called out Roxanne. 

"I told you this is all fake, com'on lets go! don;t waste your time anymore on this crap! Jane told roxanne queitly. 

As when they we're about to get up, the Old Lady fortune teller started to shake, Jane thought she might have upset the old lady whilst her shaking. The Old Lady fortune teller turned to her and started talking. 

"You young Lady, who does believe, Today at this moment you will meet the person you will love forever! After saying those words, she fainted and fell down the ground.

Roxanne was startled and started panicking, but Jane could't help but laugh about whats going on. "This is just mental, I couldn't even" She thought while slapping her forehead in disbelief. In the midst of chaos, although she can't help herself from laughing she got down and tried to help the Old Lady Psycich. When she got her consiousned back, she acted like nothing happend. 

"I'm so sorry Madam Aurora, Jane really doesn't believe in this things, she's just here because I asked her too as I was too scared to come here alone. Roxanne explained. Roxanne elbowed Jane to apologize. 

"I'm really sorry Madam, I didn't mean to insult you but I just could't help myself to be""""  -Jane could not finish what she was about to say, she was staring from a far. 

"Hello? Jane? Are you okay? what's wrong? It looked like you've seen a ghost! Roxanned asked. 

"No ahm, don't mind me, I just suddenly thought about something. Answered Jane. 

But there across the street, she saw Dans smiling face. She felt a sudden shudder and weakness in her knees when she realizes that he was waving at her. The noise suddenly disappeared and found herslef in amazement seeing him in this place. She was even shock to see him just wearing a simple jeans, brown tshirt and a pair of sneakers. Oh God, he looks hot in that "she thought to herself"

He was still smiling when he reached to where she was standing, she recalled what the Psychic said to her minutes earlier, Is he? No? It can't be, this is just a coincidence. She said to herself. 

I didn't expect to see you here Ms. Devi. Dan said with a smile in his face. 

Jane noticed that Dan looked at her from Head to toe and got annoyed remembering what he said yesterday. 

"Is what I'm wearing right now deemed more suitable for your liking Mr. Parc? Jane uttered sarcastically. 

Roxanne was shock with what Jane has said and elbowed Jane. Jane starteled and realizes what she said and took back what she said. 

"No" answered Dan, I apologize Ms. Devi, I didn't mean that you didn't look good on what you were wearing yesterday. I didn't have the chance to apologize as you left the conference so quickly. Can you forgive me Ms. Devi? Asked Dan seriously. 

Jane, could no longer see the smile in his face but his stares could melt her, she notices how close their lips are to each other. She stepped back a little bit. He was still looking at her waiting for a response. 

"It depends, can you stop calling me Ms. Devi please Boss. Please call me Jane, is that okay? Jane answered. 

"Alright then, and please call me Dan, not Mr. Parc not even Boss. Just Dan. 

"Okay, "JUST DAN" I mean Dan, Jane felt stupid and was quiet for a while. 

There was a long silence until Roxanne broke the silence between them. 

"Uhum, sorry Jane, I have to go, I have a lot of pending appointments today! Okay bye Jane see you monday. She said as she teasingly winked at her. 

"So Jane" coffee? said Dan while smiling at her. 

"Sure! where do you want to go? Asked Jane. 

"I am not sure, If I didn't see you here it'll probably take me a while to find my way out. It's been a while since I came here! A lot of changes, do you know anywhere nice? Dan said. 

"I'll take you to my favourite spot, come with me! Answered Jane in excitement as she grabbed Dans arm and pulled him to where it the shop is located. Jane loves this place and it's been a while since she came to have coffee.

When they got out from the massive wave of shoppers, she looked at Dan and only then she realize that she was holding his hand. 

"Oh my God, I'm so sorry Dan" she said in embarrasment and tried to let go of his hand, but Dan held tight. She looked at him shock but got lost in his eyes. She can see amusement and lonliness in his eyes, like he is trying to break out from it and is begging me for help. Although she knew that it is not the right time to find out the reason of the sadness in his eyes. She knew that she is going to fall in love with this man.
