The music blasting in the speakers feels sensational in a funny way. Whoever said music is like a drug didn’t lie. I might feel a little too old to go to the dance floor, but I never pass a chance to enjoy the music. That is always the main reason I come to the club on the weekends because it helps me disconnect from reality for a couple of hours. I try not to drink too much that I get a hangover, but I try to have fun at the same time, and if I am in a good mood, I might just get a new friend for the night. My friends have warned me millions of times to stray from party girls, but the one thing they don’t get is that they are really good. Plus they never ask for commitment, and I don’t have to go through the stress of having to remember their names.
I check the time on my wrist watch and it is a few minutes past eleven, and I know they are already asleep but I send a text just to confirm it. They can be stubborn at times and if I don’t intrude those two can be a little of a headache. After I have confirmed that they are sound asleep with photos to prove, I can finally concentrate on having fun. My few hours of fun if I have to say.
My eyes linger around the dance floor just to see if there is anyone interesting there. This is the VIPs section and since this is Toby’s club, he is pretty selective on who should hang out with these sides, most especially when we are around. Perks of hanging out with a billionaire. Don’t get me wrong, I do have my own standards since I am not that far away from his financial status, but the difference between me and Tobias is that the paparazzi don’t usually run around me twenty-four seven trying to get pictures and ask random questions. I am a journalist myself and I think I can say, I know how to control that, plus he kind of grew up rich with that kind of lifestyle, I didn’t. Oh, and anytime we hangout he is the center of attraction and not me. If not him, his brother, but mostly him.
Something catches my attention in the crowd, or rather someone. I can’t see her face clearly but I can already tell she is one hell of a sexy woman, and the way she is swaying those hips on the dance floor to the sound of the beat, it kind of looks like she is intentionally dancing sexy, and that’s very attractive. The sexy red dress and how it perfectly hugs her curves kind of makes me want to get up and go on that dance floor.
“Not her,” Anthony says startling me and taking my attention from her, and I shrug my shoulders.
“Why not?” I say, turning my attention back to her. I know they are both taken and don’t look at other women, but they have to admit, she is one hell of a sexy woman.
“Because she looks like the type to trap you with a pregnancy, or steal your Rolex.” He says and I internally roll my eyes and give him the death glare.
“That was a bad joke brother,” Toby tells him and he shrugs his shoulders.
“Don’t worry, I learned my lesson,” I tell them and I can tell from their looks that they don’t believe a single word I just said. It has been four years already, they should get over that. And besides, I have been doing this for a while now and I have been very careful with the women I choose to hang out with.
I kind of understand why they would have doubts, they did warn me that this shit would land me into a mess one day, and it did. A beautiful mess I have to admit, but still some massive mess I have to say. The pops were on my ass when the news went public. I had a tough time trying to clear my name until I eventually just chose to ignore everything and focus on what was now my present. The mess. The scandal did affect my businesses for a while but after some time everyone was talking about someone else who just happens to be more famous than me, and one who would be a good focus for the media, Toby. He always manages to take the drama off us. He and his wife are really good at causing drama, beautiful drama.
