Alia was already halfway to the door when Jasper’s slurred voice chased her.

“Alia… ta-take me… ho-home…”

She froze. His gaze tried to mimic sobriety, but the wobble in his words betrayed everything. She raised an irritated brow, then flicked her eyes to Rhea, who sat a little too close beside him.

“Rhea, take him home,” she said flatly. “You owe him a favor for comforting you yesterday.”

She didn’t wait to see the reactions of the people inside the room. Caspian reached out, attempting to stop her, but one sharp glare from her made him retreat like a scolded puppy.

“Unbelievable,” she muttered under her breath. “I wasted my time coming here just to witness that again.”

She hated the hypocrisy of her own heart. She already knew exactly what she would find here. And yet she still came rushing the moment she heard Jasper was drunk.

In her previous life, the same scene had played out like a tragic rerun. Rhea convinced Caspian to text her, saying Jasper needed someone to tak

Eduardo was inside his room, restlessly checking his phone to see if the girl had sent a message saying she had arrived. But there was nothing.“Where is she? She said she’d come… why isn’t she here yet?” he murmured to himself. The door creaked open. His two grandchildren—Caspian and Kristina—stepped inside and walked toward him.“Grandpa, you should go out now. You need to give a speech to start your party,” Kristina said politely.“That’s right, Grandpa. You kept saying you’d come out soon, but that was thirty minutes ago,” Caspian added.Kristina gently tugged at her grandfather’s arm. “Come on, Grandpa. It’s your birthday today. Many of the guests have already arrived, and they’re all excited to see you.”Eduardo frowned deeply. “So what? Those people only want to get close to me so they can leech off us!”Kristina flinched and stepped back in fear.“Grandpa, don’t talk like that. You know how famous you still are in the world of perfume-making. People have always been anticipati

  • When Yesterday Came Back   Chapter 62

When Knight heard Alia say that she was going to a guy’s birthday party tonight, his mood suddenly changed. He couldn’t help feeling gloomy.Philip noticed his boss’s expression darkening and felt a pang of fear. He wanted to scold Alia for what she said. Why do you have to let Mr. Silvercrest know you’re going to a man’s birthday?! Look at what you did, Ms. Morvane! he thought. But Alia was completely clueless about how Knight was feeling. With a tight frown, Knight asked, “is it really safe for you to attend his birthday tonight? Want me to come with you?”Alia shook her head. “It’s fine. He and I have known each other for years. You don’t have to worry. I won’t drink much and I’ll go home safely afterward. I won’t be staying long anyway since he isn’t the type to like parties or crowds.”This did little to ease Knight’s frown. “Call me immediately if something happens.”“Sure,” Alia said. “You worry too much about me. I’ll be fine.”“Just making sure you’re safe,” he said. “The lit

“Yes!” Alia answered.“Then I’ll be asking you out again the next time I need your help,” Knight said.Alia smiled, and the two of them continued talking for a while, completely forgetting the commotion with Rhea and Ursula earlier.Meanwhile, Rhea and Ursula headed to a café inside the mall and ordered their favorite drinks. They sat down, both still carrying irritation and frustration on their faces. After a long sip, Ursula finally snapped. “Rhea, why did you pull me out of there while I was confronting that woman? Are you really fine with being treated like that by her?”Rhea took a sip of her drink. Inside, she was fuming—she wanted nothing more than to vent all her anger at Alia, but she forced herself to hold back. She couldn’t afford to crack the elegant, gentle image she had worked hard to maintain. She exhaled slowly, calming herself, before putting on a sad expression. “I know you’re still mad about what happened. Believe me, even I wanted to confront Alia. But seeing her b

The man who entered the store—Knight Silvercrest—was at the mall that day to inspect one of the businesses he owned. Philip followed a few steps behind, carrying documents. The moment Knight stepped into the boutique, every head turned. Conversations halted. All the ladies who saw him had their jaws drop at how devastatingly handsome he was. Even the salesladies froze, staring openly.Knight looked like a walking Greek god, elegance in every stride, perfection in every line of his posture. But the moment he stepped inside, his brows lifted—he spotted someone familiar.Without hesitation, he crossed the room in long, confident strides, ignoring every pair of eyes glued to him. His attention was fixed solely on Alia.“Ms. Morvane, unexpectedly seeing you here,” he greeted, one hand casually slipping into his pocket. He was secretly delighted; he had planned to look for her after his inspection, but fortune clearly favored him today.Alia gave a slight nod. “So do I, Mr. Silvercrest.”Th

Ursula’s face flushed crimson. She opened her mouth to retort, hissing, “how dare you insult me like this? Messing with me is messing with the Andersons!”Alia said nothing, simply staring at Ursula as if the woman in front of her were as foolish as Rhea.Rhea, watching Ursula threaten Alia with her family name, forced a worried expression. “Ursula, do you really need to involve your whole family? I… I suddenly feel bad for Alia. She’s alone, an orphan… how could we treat her like this?” she said, her voice trembling with soft sobs.Ursula squeezed her friend’s hand, trying to comfort her. “Oh, Rhea, you don’t need to be concerned about a woman like her. She’s unkind and unappreciative of any concern. Why bother?”“Ursula, you don’t understand,” Rhea said, sniffling. “Alia used to be sweet and kind… I don’t know what happened to her. I know she feels hurt thinking I stole Jasper from her. They’re in the process of divorcing, so I want to be kind… despite her being Jasper’s ex-wife.”A

Alia paused, surprised. “You went back home? But I thought you said you’d never return to city life?”The old man scoffed, clearly irritated. “I wasn’t planning to! But this grandson of mine was so persistent about celebrating my birthday. I told him not to—but he wouldn’t listen!”Alia chuckled. “Why not just accept it? Maybe your grandson just wants to celebrate with you.”“Celebrate my *ss. That brat just wants to earn brownie points, thinking I’ll name him my heir on the spot.” The old man huffed. “Anyway, speaking of my birthday—I’m inviting you.”“Sure. When is it?” Alia asked.“Tonight,” he said. “Give me your home address and I’ll have someone deliver your invitation.”“Alright,” she agreed. “Thanks again, old man.”“Sure, no problem. Call me anytime on this number if you need more rare ingredients,” he said.“Of course.”Alia ended the call. After ending the call, Alia finished her meal and returned to browsing locations for her shop on her phone. She already secured a fragra
