MasukMAYA’S POV
“Be sure to take the post-pills tonight,” Alpha Damien said as he threw my clothes at me. Post-pills had become the bitter medicine I had no choice but to swallow. If there was one thing I hadn’t run out of for months, it was post-pills. I got dressed, already knowing it was time to leave. I still needed to clean up the kitchen and the living room before going to bed. “Wait!” His voice stopped me when I was close to the door. ‘What is it this time?’ I turned around and my eyes landed on him. He rolled to the other end of the bed and grabbed his trousers. Maybe he had called me back just so I could watch him dress. “I forgot to mention that you’ll be heading to the Fountain Pack tomorrow. I have a feeling they’re planning something, and I need information,” he said, breaking the silence. “If I’m not mistaken, the rival pack?” I asked carefully. “Yes.” “The last time I went there, I almost got caught, and in my attempt to escape, I…” “Oh, you think I’ve forgotten?” he cut in. If I could talk back, I would have told him he had forgotten. I had been badly injured the last time he sent me there, and now he wanted me to do it again. The only reason I wasn’t giving him a piece of my mind was because I didn’t want to spend weeks in the prison. That would be the punishment. “Everything you’ve been doing is for the pack. I’m tired of telling you that,” he said calmly. That was his way of making sure I did what he wanted. Before I stepped out of his room, I knew he would remind me again that he would accept me soon, in front of everyone. He always said that. My arms stayed wrapped around me, my face blank. He didn’t expect me to be eager to risk my life for the umpteenth time in just a few months. “You’re an Omega. It will be hard for the pack citizens to accept you as Luna because of your weakness.” My only crime was being an Omega. If I hadn’t been one, I wouldn’t have to work as a slave in the mansion, and Alpha Damien might have accepted me as his mate long ago. “I’ve tried training you so you can be fit to be Luna, but your wolf isn’t making things easy for me, and you know it!” His tone was sharper now. Thinking about it again, maybe he couldn’t be blamed for not accepting me yet. He wanted me to be strong enough to stand as Luna before he marked me. “If you keep making sacrifices like this for the pack, they won’t object when they eventually find out you’re my mate.” I reasoned with him. I understood why he wanted me to go instead of Kendra or any other maiden. “It’s fine if you don’t want to, but if you do, history will remember you for it, and the pack members…” He stopped suddenly and swallowed hard. “I’m talking too much. The choice is yours,” he murmured. I had been avoiding his eyes, but not anymore. He was seated on the bed, his legs touching the ground, and his gaze locked with mine. “I’m sorry for…” “You should go now,” he cut me off. I must have annoyed him with my words or my expression. “Good night,” I whispered. I knew better than to stay back and try to apologize again. That could trigger an outburst, and I didn’t want to hear him roar or be shoved out of his room. “I did it the last time. I can do it again,” I told myself once I was out of his sight. My mind was made up. First thing tomorrow morning, I would head to the Fountain Pack and get the information Alpha Damien wanted. “Luna-to-be,” a voice called. I looked around and saw Kendra. She called me that to mock me, and she must have told the other pack girls that Alpha Damien and I were mates. “Don’t play innocent with me, Omega. Do you think I haven’t noticed?” She was in front of me before I realized it. I wasn’t in the mood for drama tonight. I had no strength left in me, thanks to Alpha Damien. “I know what he does with you in the dark,” she bragged. “May I know why you have a problem with what my mate does with me in the dark?” I asked, deciding to put her in her place. “Oh, you think he’ll ever claim you? You’re just his toy, a slave he uses when he’s bored. You’re petite, pathetic, weak. You can barely shift. You’ll never stand beside him.” Her words cut deep, but I refused to believe them. Her eyes flickered with disgust as they swept over me. I opened my mouth to speak, but the words choked me. “He leaves you bleeding in that stupid ritual. He takes your body, drains your blood, whispers lies about claiming you, and then he comes to me.” She tilted my chin with one finger. “Alpha Damien is using you. Think about what he’ll do when he no longer needs you.” “Let go of me!” I screamed, but suddenly I was blindfolded, my mouth covered. “I once told you I’d be the end of you,” Kendra’s voice hissed.RASMUS'S POVI never imagined my life would become this full. Nine months ago, I stood before the priest and every pack member gathered, and I promised to love Maya for the rest of my life.Today, I stood in the same room, staring at three tiny lives that were proof of everything Maya and I had built together. The Moon Goddess decided to triple our blessings, and for that, I'd be forever grateful to her."My children," I muttered while staring at them one after the other.Maya was resting on the bed. She was exhausted but happy. I walked closer and rubbed my hand on her hair gently. The doctors were still all over her, and I wasn't stopping them from doing their work."You gave me three reasons to smile even more," I told Maya."I'm glad I made you smile," she responded in a low tone. Now wasn't the perfect time to engage her in a conversation. She was definitely exhausted from all the pushing. I was scared when she fell into labor, but the doctors assured me that she'd be fine."Than
MAYA’S POV “The couple would love to know if there’s anyone who is against their union before we proceed,” the priest announced. My heart immediately tightened after he said those words. The words written in the letter we received days ago flashed through my mind, and I held my breath while waiting for the silence to be broken. Everyone remained quiet, and I slowly released the breath I had been holding. Rasmus’s eyes and reaction assured me that everything would be fine, but the silence was taking too long already. “Anyone?” the priest asked again. His voice echoed through the compound. No one spoke again, so the priest went ahead and nodded. I heaved a deep sigh, and it was one of relief. If someone had spoken, the priest wouldn’t have nodded, and that would have been the end of today. “Before the Moon and all witnesses present, this union shall continue.” The crowd erupted into cheers, and I felt my shoulders finally relax. The tension I had carried for days started
MAYA’S POV It was still the day of the Binding, the day two wolves would join not only as mates but as one soul. I might have been the most excited werewolf in the pack today. It was weird how I went from being nervous to being excited. Zara’s words helped me. She gave me over a hundred reasons to be excited instead of being nervous. After the wedding, I might consider making her my friend, and of course, she’d stop working as a maid. I stepped into the compound, and I was greeted by the sight of the beautifully decorated compound. Flowers covered every corner, and the path leading to the aisle was lined with candles and petals arranged perfectly on the ground. Soft music filled the air as I stepped forward, and I couldn’t help but admire the effort that had gone into making everything perfect. The decorations, the flowers, and the way everything looked like it belonged in a dream made me more excited. But despite the beauty surrounding me, my eyes searched for only one we
RASMUS’S POV I got up early, hence why I was ready for the day on time. My bride had a long day yesterday, so I wouldn’t blame her for waking up a little late this morning. I was glad she had fun with her fellow Lunas. Also, I didn’t have to do too much with my appearance. I happened to be the groom and not the bride. I wouldn’t want to be mistaken for the bride, so I didn’t do too much, but I still ate with my look. Invited pack members had filled the venue when I stepped out some minutes ago. Men and women dressed in dark ceremonial robes lined with gold threads filled the place. Everyone must be excited to celebrate with their Lycan King. Dignitaries and pressmen were also present. Just like my bride wanted, I made sure the security was tight. An invite had been sent out before today, and anyone without an invite wouldn’t be allowed in. I insisted on the wedding being a blend of the nineteenth and twenty-first centuries, and the event planner delivered. She did beyond m
MAYA’S POV I stood in front of the mirror and looked straight into it as the stylist adjusted the final part of my wedding dress. The room was filled with werewolves moving all around to make sure everything was perfect. “Hold still, Luna Maya,” the stylist said to me. “I am holding still,” I responded. My fingers were tightly gripping the fabric. My chief bridesmaid, who was one of the domestic workers, stood behind me with a huge smile on her face. I could tell she was excited on my behalf. “You’ve been smiling for the longest, Zara.” “You look beautiful, ma’am,” she responded to me while still smiling. I looked at my reflection again, but before I could respond to Zara, another woman in the room gasped. It had to mean that she also had something to say to me. It definitely would be a compliment. “Luna Maya, you look breathtaking.” A smile slowly formed on my face. I guess compliments from them were one of the things I needed the most at the moment. Today was fin
RASMUS’S POV I never thought I would be standing in a room filled with Alphas, celebrating my last night before becoming a married man again. I never thought love could find me again after Selene died. For years, I had only focused on leading my pack and protecting my people, but everything changed when Maya entered my life. I saw the need to move on with my life. My life had been on hold ever since Selene died. Maya showed up, and she made me realize she was just what I needed. Who would have thought that the woman I rescued in the woods after she let out a guttural scream would be my wife? “You look like a man who still can’t believe he’s getting married,” Alpha Adrian teased while raising his glass. He must have seen through me. “I’m still trying to understand how someone as pretty and powerful as Maya agreed to spend her life with me,” I told him. It had been on my mind for some time now. “Careful, Lycan King. If Luna Maya hears you say that, she might change her min
MAYA’S POV I had witnessed soldiers train before. I had seen cruelty on the training ground, I had seen soldiers bleed, but this was a massacre. “This won’t end well,” I cried out. Alpha Damien stood at the center of it all, blood running down from his jaw to his chest. Five opponents surroun
DAMIEN’S POV My fists remained tightly clenched. I hadn’t woken up on the good side of the bed, and everyone in the mansion had better be well-behaved today. “Get me the Beta and the head of security,” I ordered the guard behind me after descending the stairs. “Yes, Alpha,” he responded. My
MAYA’S POV “When you’re done here, you’re to scrub all the toilets in the mansion,” a guard snapped. I didn’t forget for a minute that I was supposed to be scrubbing the toilets and not here on the training ground, but it was what Alpha Damien wanted. “This is a waste of time,” I muttered af
MAYA’S POV “Faster, Omega!” a warrior barked. He obviously wasn’t an Omega like me. His voice made me flinch, and my arms trembled. Good for me, the tray stacked with food in my hands didn’t find its way to the ground. The smell of roasted meat and herbs filled my nostrils as the plates ratt
