Louise had been lazily stroking himself, his gaze fixed on the green light emitted by the microwave timer. It had been hours since he last saw his owners, but now it was night and he was hungry.
It was this pitiful state that made him stare intently at the door like it would open at any moment and they would rush into the house with lots of treats in hand, and apologies for starving him.
So potent remained his stare and focus that he didn't see the shadow lurking from the crack under the door. His eyes darted quickly from the door knob to the crack, when it finally caught his attention.
He stood on his four paws quickly, excited that he would finally get to eat something, but he drew back gently when the shadow stilled, not moving.
Something about that made him jump down from the cream colored love seat he had been luxuriating on; his owners didn't linger neither were they silent about their entry. He took shelter under the love seat, his yellow eyes
Jameson had just taken his first sip of his coffee when his wife, Betty, came in. He watched her and noticed she was avoiding looking in him the eye, something that she only did whenever she had done something he wouldn't like. Knowing what was coming, he fortified his mind to be prepared for whatever shocking thing she would say to him that might offend him. She took the pot of coffee he had made and poured some intoghe dainty tea cup she preferred, putting no sugar but drowning the coffee in milk. He shook his head gently at her longstanding absurdity while a smile played at the corner of his lips. Since he was resting on a side of the counter, she took the opposite side directly in front of him. Jameson banished worry from his mind when he saw she didn't speak, instead she had her eyes glued to the cup of coffee she was holding. "What did you do now?" He asked finally when she didn't speak. "Come on, tell me. I promise to be benevolent and take
I was whistling happily as I got out of the lift, my hands filled with two brown shopping bags. My talk with Cherry had succeeded in boosting my mood. Knowing we had next to nothing in the fridge, I decided to go grocery shopping on my way home. To appease Louise, I bought him chewy meat sticks, hoping he'll go nuts over it and forgive me for neglecting him. As I juggled the bags on my arm, my neighbor came out of her room carrying a white shopping bag filled with whatever it was filled with. I tried but failed not be amused by her outfit choice. She had on an army colored yoga tank top tucked into a white sweatpants leggings, her hair was held back with a huge red head band and she had a pair of blue shaded avaitor square sunglasses, her lips brightly colored red. She gave me a warm smile and I returned it naturally. "Coco where are you off to this morning?" I asked because I was curious to know. She gave me a sly smile before she answered, "there is a new hunk that
I forced myself to continue watching the sports programme my father was ardently watching. I definitely didn't feel like watching or listening to anything at that moment, not even my favorite sport. I had more serious things to think of than to think of how Chelsea were at the top of the premier league table and Manchester United were no where to be found, when I had my unresolved situation with Veronica. After going through everything that happened, I knew I probably deserved her ire. But I didn't think she would have been so angry she wouldn't have checked up on me. Wanting to stop feeling bad about it, I kept telling myself that she probably called me but couldn't get me as I wasn't with my phone. But as time passed, my anxiousness grew and I wanted out of the hospital. I looked around the large VIP room my parent had transferred me to the other night. The rich really knew how to live; even their hospital rooms were something extraordinary. Everytime I found myself enjoying the b
It was my fifteenth time staring at the unexpected message on my phone that morning.I miss you! 😩I smiled again as I reread the three words that Hunter sent to me. It touched me so much, I shed a little tear. Seeing it confirmed to me that everything was okay with us, something I had been afraid of. Now that he had sent me this, I wondered if I should continue with the plan I had. It was difficult to not respond to it, but I prevailed against the urge; hurriedly, I took the bowl of milk I had prepared for a slightly calm Louise. I was wondering what made him that scared, when the doorbell rang. I ran to it after seeing to Louise. I opened the door, only to see someone I never expected to see in the nearest future. The shock kept me rooted to the spot, unable to talk or move even though I was happy to see his face."Hey Veronica!" He called in his ever gentle voice that made you want to bare all your soul out to him."Father!" I yelled and jumped into h
Kelly slipped quietly out of the house, intending to go visit her father at home. She turned back to see if she was being watched, only moving when she was satisfied she wasn't.Mama B had already advised her not to think about her father and keep praying for all to be well, but she needed to see him. Maybe, just maybe, he would see her and feel remorseful for sending her out of his house. As she walked briskly to her house, hiding her figure with a black cap, black sweater and a pair of black running pants, she thought back to her unfaithful night with the idiot that got her pregnant. She couldn't believe everything happening to her, it was like she was the harbinger of doom and she gave brought it to all around her. Her father's new wife, Sharon, didn't miss every opportunity to tell her that she was nothing but evil.Kelly wiped the tears that had rolled down her face with the back of her hand as she opened
I watched Veronica gaze at everything but at me. I understood she was hurt, and I felt more horrible than I already was. I did what Chris had always taught me to whenever I hurt anyone."I am sorry." I said with all sincerity, pouring my repentance into my voice and she looked up. She stared into my eyes as if she needed to see something in it, and I understood what she wanted to see. I saw the moment she forgave me, it was as clear as the blue sky on a summer morning. All thanks to her expressive face. I also saw the moment she decided to play with me and I decided to play along, she deserved that much."For what?" She said, making it a point to show she was not look interested."For saying what I said," I replied, holding back my smile."And Grace?" She asked, making me do a double take. I wasn't aware she knew about Grace."What about it?" I asked, cautious as I didn't know where she was going with it.
In another hospital somewhere in a small town in Seattle, Kelly sat down, staring into space, totally unaware of her surrounding. She kept repeating the moment she forcefully freed herself from her father and he rolled down the stairs, breaking his head. When Sharon had come in, blood had already been flowing out of his head. She stood to the side, unable to help as Sharon quickly unbuttoned her thick shirt and placed it over the wound. The blood just kept flowing till the paramedics arrived. Sharon didn't want to allow her into the ambulance, pushing her out and calling her a killer. The neighbors that had come out to watch the whole thing began to look at her, judging her for whatever had happened in the house. Even Arnie, the old man living beside them, yelled at her."You killed your ma, now you want to kill your pa too? Have you no conscience?" He had yelled with his old, croaky voice. She wiped the tears she hadn't known were falling down her face, c
I rolled my eyes as Veronica kept panicking about what she would wear. I watched the orange sky as she changed into something she felt was better than the outfit she wore before.I didn't mind the first outfit and I knew mother wouldn't mind it too, but Veronica wasn't listening. Finally, we got into car and drove to my house."Gifts!" She yelled startling him, "We need gifts, what kind of gifts would your parents like?" She asked me and I rolled my eyes again, wondering where all these were coming from."Why would we give them gifts?" I asked back."Because it's what they do, it's what people do? You don't just go to dinner empty handed, especially if it's for the first time." She replied, looking at me like I had fallen from another planet into the car.."It's still me," I told her."Stop reading my mind!" She slapped me hard on my arm, before she pulled my ear, "We need to get a gift
