Gorgo Lykaon POV

"Drive the car now," Leonidas Argyros says.

The territory rider gasps very loudly. His eyes are big because he sees the red blood on the supreme alpha king's neck. But Leonidas does not yell. He does not even look mad. He just looks out the black glass at the two bad wolves who are running around the Eclipse Moon Lodge parking lot. Then his thin lips move just a little bit.

"Master, did you say drive?" the rider asks. He shakes a lot. "Are you really letting this rejected moonborn heiress hold a blade to you?"

Leonidas does not answer him. He just sits there like a big mountain. No wolf in the whole Sparta Moonhaven Territory ever dares to put a knife to the alpha king. Doing that is like asking to be killed by the pack warriors.

My hands start to lose all their power. The heavy fire potion makes my fingers go soft. The small silver blade falls out of my hand and lands on his big knees. Leonidas picks it up fast and throws it onto the car floor.

"Where do you want to go, female wolf?" he asks me.

His voice is very deep and low, like thunder in the forest. My ears remember this voice from my old life. I hate that I like it. My head feels so dizzy and hot. I reach out and grab his thick black shirt because I am falling over.

"Leonidas," I say, and my breath comes out like hot steam. "I do not love you. I will never love you. You are a bad, mean alpha!"

The territory rider makes the car jump. He almost hits a big stone wall because he is so shocked. Tonight is the night of our eternal lunar bond ceremony. He cannot believe I am saying bad things to the supreme alpha king. He knows Leonidas only says yes to this bond because the old pack grandmother made a promise.

Leonidas raises one thick eyebrow. He stares right at my red face. "Me? A bad alpha?"

He does not know why I am so mad at him. In this new life, he has not done the mean things to me yet.

"You are horrible," I tell him. I bite my lip hard to stay awake. My eyes feel big and blurry. I remember all the sad days from my first life when he left me alone in the Argyros Citadel.

"Why do you treat me like dirt?" I yell, and I use my small fists to hit his hard chest. "Leonidas, you scum!"

He catches my two wrists in his big hand. Before he can yell at me, I lift my head. My eyes are full of big tears. My mouth is pouting. I look so sad because my heart is broken for the future.

"Leonidas, it hurts so much inside," I say, and I start to cry.

He looks at my face, and his eyes change a little bit. He wonders if he did something bad to me before tonight.

But the fire potion is getting too strong now. My skin feels like it has a million tiny bugs crawling under the fur. It is so hot. I cannot stay still. I lean my whole body against him and move my legs.

Leonidas pushes my shoulders away fast. His eyes look like ice. They are cold enough to kill a wolf's soul.

I shiver because his power is scary, but the fire inside me will not stop. The cold wind from the car window cannot fix it. I do not even know who is sitting in front of me anymore.

I grab his black collar with both hands. "I am too hot. Help me."

"Master, the future mistress looks very sick," the territory rider says. He looks back through the glass mirror. "Something is wrong with her wolf."

Leonidas looks down at me. Before he can stop me, I slide my leg over his lap. I sit right on top of his big knees.

The rider screams a little bit, and the car almost runs onto the grass sidewalk. This is too crazy. No female wolf ever sits on the supreme alpha king like this. He thinks Leonidas will throw me out into the dirt road.

I squint my eyes at his handsome face. My breath is going fast like a running pup.

Leonidas stays very still. His big fingers pinch my chin and pull my face up to look at him. "Who puts the potion in your blood?"

Tonight is our big pack night. Even if he does not love me, harming his future Luna is a big insult to the Argyros Alpha Dominion.

His eyes get very thin and mean. "Was it those two wolves from the lodge?"

I do not care about his questions. I want his cold hands on my hot skin. I pull away from his fingers, lean my head forward, and press my lips right against his mouth.

The territory rider lets go of the wheel for a second. The car sways left and right.

"Gorgo, do you know what you are doing?" Leonidas shouts. He pushes my shoulders back again. His ice face finally looks worried.

He cannot believe I just kissed him. He is the alpha king. "You... you girl!"

But I do not let him finish speaking. I move forward and kiss his mouth again, stopping his words.

His big hands hold my shoulders to push me away, but then he stops moving. The kiss feels too good to his inner wolf. Then he realises my body is like a fire bomb that is going to blow up. He grabs my two hands again and holds them down tight. His voice sounds rough and deep now. "Stop moving!"

But my wolf cannot control the fire.

Leonidas lets out a cold breath. He is a brave warrior who never gets scared in a pack war, but now he looks very worried. "Find a quiet spot in the woods and stop the car!"

The rider is sweating so much that it drips down his face. He looks in the mirror and sees me kicking my feet and making a big mess on the alpha's lap.

I have no good manners left. My face is so red it looks like blood is going to come out of my cheeks. Leonidas looks at me, and his cold heart feels a little bit sorry for me.

His big paws hold my tiny hands steady. "Be good. Do not move anymore."

Then he looks up at the front seat and speaks with a scary, quiet voice. "Do you want to keep your eyes, rider?"

The rider gets super scared. "No... I mean, yes, Alpha! I want them!"

My hands are still pressed against the alpha's big chest. The rider cannot believe it. The supreme alpha king hates when females touch him, but he is letting this rejected moonborn heiress stay on his lap. The rider knows that if he does not get out of the car fast, the alpha king will banish him from the territory forever.
