Gorgo Lykaon POV

"Get out of the car right now!" Leonidas Argyros barks at the front seat.

The territory rider jumps out fast. The big black car door shuts with a loud slam. His boots make a quick scratching noise on the dirt before he runs away into the night woods. Now it is just the supreme alpha king inside the small space and me.

Leonidas has messy hair now. His black shirt is pulled open at the top. He looks very stone-faced, but small drops of hot sweat are rolling down his cheeks. His inner wolf is fighting hard to stay quiet.

His big, wet palms clamp down on my wrists like iron bands. "Gorgo, do you have any idea what you are doing to me right now?"

"I..." I shake my head back and forth.

My brain feels like it is melting from the fire potion. I cannot think of any good words.

Leonidas narrows his dark eyes until they look like two sharp pieces of glass. "Look at my face. Do you know exactly which wolf is holding you?"

He never thinks a small, rejected moonborn heiress can make him lose his big alpha balance. He wants me to know his name before things go too far.

I let out a shaky breath and lift my heavy head. I stare at his sharp nose and his angry mouth.

Who is he? My soul knows him. "You are... Leonidas."

"Good!" he says, and his voice sounds like a deep growl from the dark forest.

He lets go of my hands. He reaches up and pulls his shirt over his big shoulders. He throws it onto the front seat.

This is the first time he has ever taken his clothes off near me. He never did this in my first life, and he never did it in this new life until now.

I look at his wide chest and his hard muscles. My mouth stays open. I know the alpha king is the most handsome wolf in Sparta Moonhaven, but seeing him like this makes my heart jump into my throat. He looks like a dangerous predator.

His eyes look very scary now. They are the eyes of a real hunter who wants to kill a small rabbit in the snow.

I feel a big wave of cold fear hit my stomach. The fire in my blood suddenly gets a little bit smaller because I am scared. He is going to eat me alive.

I try to move my legs back toward the car door. "I... I want to go."

"Why are you moving back now?" Leonidas asks, and he reaches out and drags my body right back onto his lap. "You are the one who started this fire, female wolf."

I make a small crying sound and put my palms against his bare skin to push him away. His skin feels even hotter than mine. It feels like touching a burning stove.

"I am okay now," I lie to him. My voice is shaking. "Let me go."

This man is too dangerous for me. If a female wolf gets close to the supreme alpha king, she can never run away again. He will own her forever.

I am so stupid. Why do I jump into his car? Why do I kiss his mouth and make his wolf mad?

My body feels hot and cold at the same time. My mind remembers all the bad, sad years from my old life inside the Argyros Citadel. I remember how powerful and mean he can be. I cannot make him mad tonight. I need to run away from him and live a quiet life.

"You jump on my lap, and now you want to say no?" Leonidas asks, and his big fingers grab my chin again to force my face up. His voice sounds very dark. "Little wolf, are you playing a game with the alpha king?"

"No, I am not," I say, and I try to wiggle out of his grip. He is too strong. I cannot move an inch.

"I am sorry, Leonidas. Please let my body go."

I start to panic. I look at the door handle, but his big body is blocking the way out. I am too weak to fight a warrior wolf.

"No wolf makes a fool out of me," Leonidas says, looking down at my mouth with a hungry face. "You asked for this, Gorgo."

"Am I nothing more than a convenient body to warm your bed?" I demanded, my hands shoved hard against his chest as the silence stretched thin between us."You speak as if I am forcing you to submit to the sacred bond, Gorgo," Leonidas growled low in his chest, his silver eyes flashing with a sudden, icy hostility."I am trying to keep us strictly within the terms of our alliance!" I shot back, my voice trembling despite my best efforts to project the strength of a true Moonfang heiress. "Or did the Supreme Alpha forget that our union was forged to secure pack borders, not to satisfy his personal cravings?"The temperature in the private chamber plummeted instantly, heavy with the suffocating pressure of his royal bloodline.Leonidas stepped back, his massive frame severing the heat that had almost consumed us both just moments before."The agreement," he repeated, the words dripping with a cold, terrifying detachment. "You cling to the covenant papers like a frightened pup hiding behi

"If I do not give you these restorative broths, your fragile moonborn body will break under the Supreme Alpha's heat!" Steward Qin warned, gesturing toward the steam rising from the heavy clay bowls set upon the long oak dining table."I am not fragile, Steward Qin," I grumbled, staring down at the dark, bitter concoctions line-up on the polished wood. "And you do not need to broadcast what happens inside the Alpha's sleeping quarters to every omega in the Argyros Citadel.""The Supreme Alpha was deeply concerned when your physical consciousness gave out twice during the lunar bonding ritual last night," Steward Qin replied smoothly, smoothing down his grey woolen tunic. "He personally summoned Moon Physician Ye Han to draft these medicinal recipes for your blood and qi. As your bloodline guardian, it is my duty to ensure you consume every drop."My face burned with a fierce, humiliating heat. The entire lower tier of the Argyros Silverclaw Pack knew that the mighty Leonidas had spent

Nyra Blackmoon and I followed He Lingzhi deeper into the subterranean tunnels beneath the Silvermoon Academies, tracking her toward the obscure tactical war-room assigned to our rank. The Great Pack Assembly did not regulate low-tier operational groups strictly, but resources were ruthlessly rationed based on bloodline standing.Since He Lingzhi was forced by the Moon Scholars to register at least three military squads for her cohort, she had managed to secure this subterranean chamber. The room itself was pathetic."By the Moon Goddess, is this an abandoned armory or a dungeon cell?" Nyra gasped, stepping over a pile of broken iron shields and rotting leather saddles. The chamber sat in the damp, forgotten cellars of the academy's northern tower, right next to the stone drainage sluices.Discarded iron swords, cracked armor plates, and rusted training dummies were stacked haphazardly against the back wall. Two splintered oak map-tables sat in the center, their surfaces scarred by old

"You really think you're going to break the eternal lunar bond in two years?" Nyra Blackmoon hissed, leaning across the wooden table as the ambient noise of the Moonstone Tavern roared around us. "Before, you seemed so sure about it, but now that I'm asking, why are you hesitating? Aren't you going to run?""How could I hesitate?" I whispered, staring down at my ink-stained claws. "I decided this the moment I woke up from my past life. If I don't want to end up dead in the snow, I have to stay as far away from the Supreme Alpha King as possible. He's dangerous.""Then stop staring at the door like you're waiting for his war wagon," Nyra grumbled, taking a heavy gulp of spiced mead.I ignored her, pulling the parchment back toward me to finish filling out my request form for the Lunar Healing Sanctuaries."I need to know who poisoned me before the auction," I said, handing the sheet to the old wolf behind the sanctuary counter. "And I need to see Stelios's pawn.""You mean Ye Fangfang?

"You really think you can just keep this room locked forever?" Daxos Argyros growled, blocking the narrow stone entrance of the Lunar Healing Chamber with his massive shoulders."This chamber belongs to the true Luna of House Argyros," Daxos spat, his golden Alpha eyes flashing with disgust as he stared down at my scarred, mud-stained face. "Not a disgraced, hideous creature dragged out of the Whispering Moon Woods."My hands tightened into fists at my sides, my short nails digging deep into my palms. "Step aside, Daxos. I live here.""You live wherever my brother permits you to breathe," Daxos sneered, stepping closer until his scent of sulfur and dark pine smothered the hallway. "Leonidas dragged you back from the Blackmoon Auction like a wounded rogue, but don't think that makes you human, girl.""I am Gorgo Lykaon," I said, my voice barely above a whisper, though my chest burned with the sudden, violent thrum of my dormant wolf. "And this is my room."Daxos let out a cruel, barkin

"You think the Moon Cares if you bleed silver?" Leonidas growled. The dark circles under his golden-silver eyes burned into mine as his iron grip tightened around my wrists, pinning them against the silk sheets of the Alpha Guest Chamber."The drug was meant to break you, Gorgo, not me," I choked out. My lungs burned as the last traces of the auction house's silver toxin fought against the heat expanding in my womb. "Let me go.""You came into my territory fully aware of who I am," Leonidas rasped, his bare, scarred chest heaving as he leaned closer, his scent of cedar and thunder crashing over my senses. "You let Stelios touch you to get to me.""I came to survive!" I snapped, my wolf clawing frantically at the cage behind my ribs. "Daxos signed my execution order the moment he severed our mate-bond. You think I had a choice?"Leonidas dropped his weight over me, his broad shoulders blocking out the morning sunlight filtering through the shattered balcony doors of the Eclipse Moon Lo
