ログインRejected by her fated mate in her first life, she woke up eighteen winters old again—and this time, she is rewriting the pack laws. Gorgo Lykaon spent three long winters as the Rejected Moonborn Heiress of the Lykaon Moonfang Pack, desperately begging for the affection of her cold-hearted husband. But after a brutal betrayal by her own bloodline ends her life in the dirt, the Moon Goddess grants her a second chance. Awakening as a Reawakened Luna, Gorgo finds herself back on the fateful night of her binding ceremony to Leonidas Argyros, the terrifying Supreme Alpha King of Sparta Moonhaven. Knowing the heartbreak that awaits her in the Argyros Citadel, she makes a blood vow to break their Eternal Lunar Bond before it even begins. No more tears, no more chasing an icy mountain, and no more playing the victim in the Pack Dominion Conflict. But Leonidas of the Silverclaw Throne isn’t letting his future Luna walk away so easily. As an ancient pack alliance shatters and a deadly Alpha Succession War begins to brew in the Great Pack Assembly, his beast fixes its sights entirely on her. The more she runs into the Whispering Moon Woods to claim her own destiny, the harder the dominant predator hunts to claim his mate. Can a reborn female wolf outsmart the most powerful Alpha in the territory, or will the heat of their true bond consume them both in a game of revenge and primal desire?
もっと見る“Let’s break this lunar bond, right now,” I say.
I stare at Leonidas Argyros, the supreme alpha king, the wolf every female in Sparta Moonhaven wants. He’s got dark hair, a powerful build, and this intimidating aura that hangs around him like a storm. But he’s never wanted me. For three winters, I try. I make his food, wash his clothes in Argyros Citadel, trying to be the mate he needs. He never looks at me with anything close to love. Now, I can’t do it anymore. My heart feels tiny and broken. I just want out.
“I’m giving you your freedom,” I say, fingers trembling. “Take your name off my bloodline. After today, we’re nothing.”
He doesn’t say a word. Doesn’t even let his face show anything. He glances at the papers sitting on the wooden table. He grabs the black pen and scribbles so fast, then stands and leaves, shoulders broad, steps heavy. Inside Moonstone Tavern, the pack stops eating to watch him; he always looks like a king. He always leaves me like this. No matter what I do, it never touches that big, stone wolf heart. It hurts so much, right inside my chest like something tearing loose. But I have to walk away.
Out in the street, my phone blares in my hand.
“Artemisia,” I answer. “I did what you said. He signed the papers. The bond is finished.”
“Is it true?” Artemisia Lykaon’s voice bursts through, way too loud and bright.
I stop walking and shake my head. “He signed. But why are you so happy?”
She lets out this wild, witchy laugh. “Gorgo, you’re such a fool! You really let the supreme alpha king go!”
My stomach twists. “What are you talking about? You’re my sister.”
“I feel amazing!” Artemisia keeps laughing. “You’re finally out of Argyros Citadel. Now I can be his Luna! That’s why I pushed you to leave him!”
I glance up at the hulking grey buildings across the road; I just know she’s up there.
“Why do you think Leonidas is so cold toward you?” she says.
“Why?” I move into the noisy street with the territory riders and their cars. “Tell me!”
“Because he thinks you killed his little brother!” Artemisia shouts, cutting my ears like knives. “He believes you murdered Daxos, the fallen alpha heir. Why would he love someone who destroyed his bloodline?”
“No!” I scream. My voice cracks and fades. “I loved Daxos! I’d never hurt him! Was it you, Artemisia? Did you do it?”
“Yes, I did!” she shrieks, laughing like she’s won. “Want to go run and confess to Leonidas, sister? Too late!”
“I hate you!” I yell. My vision blurs. “You lied to me for years. We’re family!”
“You can’t do anything now,” Artemisia snaps. “Look to your left, fool.”
I whip my head around. All I see are two blinding lights.
A truck is barreling right at me.
Crash.
Everything hurts. My bones snap. I’m flying up, weightless and tossed like a dead leaf in the winter wind, then slamming onto the cold black pavement.
The world fades into dull black and white. I start thinking about my life every moment spent loving Leonidas Argyros. He never looked at me kindly. If I ever wake up again somewhere else, I’ll never waste love on him. I’ll never love a wolf who doesn’t know how to love his mate.
My eyelids drop; darkness swallows everything. I never see Leonidas burst from the Tavern, never see him cradle my broken, bleeding body in his arms, never see the supreme alpha king cry real tears for me. My bag tumbles open on the road. The paper slips out. Where Leonidas should have signed to break the bond, he didn’t. Instead, in big black letters, he wrote: NO WAY IN HELL.
My skin chills like ice. My breath leaves me. I’m gone.
Gorgo Lykaon POV"That cold bite and his scary alpha eyes make it so hard for my wolf to breathe," I say to myself as I sit alone on the edge of my bed.It takes me a very long time to stop shaking. Leonidas finally left my room, taking his massive kingly scent with him. Now I see why he came to the Lykaon Moonkeep so late. He wanted to show everyone that he decides who talks about our secret night. He wants me to know that if his beast is happy, nobody can hurt my wolf, not even my mean stepfamily. But if I make him mad, he can crush my bones like a tiny bug.He wants to rule my whole life!He is just angry because my wolf used his body to burn off the fire potion in the woods and then I stole his territory car and left him behind. Why must a supreme alpha king be so small-hearted?In my past life, I never knew Leonidas was such a petty wolf.I roll around on my furs all night and cannot sleep. I never wanted the eternal lunar bond ceremony to be pushed back or ruined like this. When
Leonidas Argyros POV"What do you think you are doing?" I say to Leonidas as he drops his heavy black shirt on the stone floor and pulls at his silver-buckled warrior belt.My eyes widen, and my face gets super hot when I see his thick muscles and the dark wolf tattoos on his skin. I have to look away fast because my inner wolf wants to jump right into his arms."Supreme Alpha King, I really made a big mistake tonight," I say, trying to make my voice steady. "You can give me any pack punishment you want, and I will take it. But I know your beast does not truly want to take a rejected moonborn heiress as your mate."He has no love for me, so it makes no sense that his wolf wanted my body so much in the woods tonight. It was just an accident from the magic wine."I can travel to the Argyros Citadel myself to bow before the old grandmother," I tell him. "I will tell her the mistake was all mine, so your bloodline has no shame. You will not look bad to the Great Pack Assembly.""And?" Leo
Leonidas Argyros POV"The supreme alpha king is standing outside our gates right now," the pack caretaker pants heavily.I open my mouth, but no words come out. My chest feels tight because my little trick to stop my father's hand actually worked. But the sky is still pitch black, and the moon is high up. Why is the master of the Silverclaw Throne inside the Lykaon Moonkeep at this hour?Every wolf in the room starts to shake with a mix of big fear and crazy excitement. Charles and Kate run out of the iron doors fast to welcome him. Artemisia licks her fingers and fixes the fur around her face before she dashes out too.I take a deep breath and slip away from the stairs, hiding inside my own sleeping room while they are all busy kissing his boots. When Leonidas steps into the light, my family looks like they saw a ghost. His heavy black clothes are damp, and his trousers have rough folds in the fabric. It looks like his clothes got soaked in the sea and dried up in the cold wind. His
Gorgo Lykaon POV"What drink can make a young female wolf get dizzy, make her blood burn like fire, and make her inner wolf act crazy?" I ask.High Alpha Merchant Lord Charles spins around. He is almost fifty winters old, so he knows exactly what kind of fire potion makes a wolf lose control. He glares right at Artemisia.Artemisia looks super guilty. She shakes her head fast, and her eyes get watery. "Father, I never put a bad potion in Gorgo's cup! How can you think that?"I blink my big eyes and look at her like a confused pup. "Sister, what does the word potion mean? What did you put inside my sweet moon-wine?"I am only eighteen winters old tonight. It is so easy to play dumb and act like a little girl who knows nothing. I make my voice sound very soft and small."Artemisia! What did you make her swallow?" Charles roars, his brow furrowing with dark anger. He knows if his second daughter did something bad to ruin the treaty with the supreme alpha king, the whole Lykaon Moonfang P
Gorgo Lykaon POV"Lock the outer door and make sure the camera is ready to take the photos," Artemisia Lykaon says outside.I shake my head hard. My brain feels full of heavy fog. I look at my hands. I look down at my long dress with the bad cuts that show too much skin. I look at a big mirror on t
