Chapter 5: Colter Academy

Chapter 5: Colter Academy

Zaina Amara’s POV

The weekend is over, meaning I need to go to school to start my first day at Colter Academy. The class just started three weeks ago, so I think I missed a lot of topics and subjects, but whatever.

When I parked my car in the school parking lot, I got out immediately. Almost all of them looked at me as usual, but I ignored them all. I was holding my things; I needed them to put inside my locker. The number of my locker was 666, the evil number huh?

“She’s the new girl.”

“I heard her punch Blaze.”

“She’s a troublemaker.”

“Badass.”

“I wonder who she is.” And so on. I continued walking while looking for my locker number.

658

664

And got you 666

I put my things above the locker and opened my locker. I put my belongings inside. When I closed the door of my locker, I saw a man leaning against the locker door beside my locker.

“The new girls are finally here; I can say I’m quite impressed; you are one of the pretty and tough girls I saw, huh.” He confidently said while grinning at me. I stared back at him emotionlessly.

“Oh, did she just stare back at me without crying? This is freaking new?” He said to his friends who were standing behind him.

“Make her cry, dude.” One of them said, which made the person in front of me laugh.

“That was a nice idea, Matt.” He said, and in just a matter of seconds, I was being pushed into the locker, so everyone in the place yelled and cheered for the guy who was trapping me in the locker.

What a warm way to welcome me. I remained calm while looking at them all.

“What now, pretty girl? Just cry like a lost puppy.” He mocked me and laughed again.

They all laughed with him. I stood up straight and grinned. This is fucking great.

I tried to push him back using my one hand, but he just grabbed it and held it tightly. He leaned forward and whispered something into my ear.

“Just cry now, pretty girl, and I promise I will let you go, and later on, come and talk with me; if you did that, I’d make your life easier here.” He seductively said and licked my ear. Disgusting.

He leaned backwards to see my reaction, and everyone in the room yelled, “Oh nice one, Dom!”

I looked at him and brought my face close to his ear.

“Leave me alone.” I coldly but deadly said to him.

After saying that, I pushed him back. I fixed my clothes and started walking, but before I could go further, someone grabbed my arm and pulled me back.

“You don’t have the right to warn me bitch!” He yelled and then slapped me on my cheeks so hard.

My face tilted because of what he did. You made the wrong choice, man, gradually, if I looked back at him.

I knelt on the part of his body where the sun didn’t shine. He cried out in pain.

I grabbed his hair, crushed his head towards the lockers, and kicked his back. He was sitting on the floor, and I repeatedly kicked him.

Oh god, trouble is always following me wherever I go. I stepped on his hand, so he cried again in pain.

“When I told you to leave me alone, leave me alone,” I said venomously and stepped back.

I looked at his friends, and I gave them all a warning stare. I adjusted my clothes again and walked away.

All of them went out of my way. I let out a sigh and calmed down. If only they had let me put my belongings safely in my locker, I figured out this thing wouldn’t have happened.

I pulled out my schedule from inside my bag and looked at it. My first class will start 5 minutes from now.

I entered a room, and all the students inside stared at me. I just ignored them, and nothing changed; I sat in a chair far away from them. Upon seating, a teacher entered with a serious face.

“Morning.” She greeted coldly.

“Good morning.” Some of them greeted back.

She looked down at me and looked at me intently. Then, a small grin formed on her lips.

“The transferee, come on you in front and introduce yourself.” She ordered me to do it. But I didn’t go to the front; I just stood up from where I was.

“Zaina Amara Jones, 20.” I said and sat down immediately.

“Did she just didn’t follow what Miss Farah just ordered her to do?” I hear someone whisper, but enough for me to hear it.

“I see, you have the guts; by the way, I’m Farah Cortez.” She said with a smile.

She started to discuss until we heard a buzzer. It was a sign that her class was over.

“Class dismissed.” Miss Farah said.

I was about to leave when she called my Surname.

“Miss Jones, stay.” She stopped me from walking out.

“Come inside.” She speaks.

I went inside and stopped in front of her. There were only two of us left in the classroom.

“I don’t like the attitude you show me earlier.” She starts to say.

She laid both hands on the table and looked at me intently.

“You better give me respect and more on fear. I can make your life hard as hell here.” She speaks. She got up from her chair and approached me.

“I can make you suffer and kill you in just a second.” She whispered in my ear and then leaned back to see my reaction.

I just stayed calm, and I approached her as well. I seriously stared at her.

“I don’t care if you don’t like me, and believe me, Miss Farah, my life is already hell,” I said seriously and turned away.

I left the classroom and went to the next class. What a nice day, two people have already given me a threat.

I entered a room and sat in a chair with a woman beside me.

“Hi.” She calmed and tenderly greeted me. I looked at her coldly and gave her What do you need look.

“I’m Jana Foretello.” She held out her hand in front of me.

“Zaina,” I said and looked out the window. I heard a sigh and put her hands down when she noticed I didn’t have the plan to take it.

“Zaina, the transferee?” I nodded in response.

“Oh my, it’s you?” She said in disbelief. Oh yeah, what’s so surprising about that?

“I’m so sorry for bothering you.” She stuttered and quickly left my side.

I can’t blame her, though. No one dares to be friends with me, and I don’t mind it either. I prefer to be alone than make friends who are just fake.

“Attention everyone.” I can get back into reality when after hearing that voice coming from the speaker scattered throughout campus.

“Everyone can go home now; the class for today has been suspended because a very important person will visit this school today. For peace and safety, we are allowing the students to go home early.” A lady’s said twice.

A very important person, huh? Who might it be? Why does the class have to be cancelled, and he will go to visit this school? I looked at the students around. Still, some of them were shivering with fear, some of them filled, and some of them became serious.

I wonder who that very important person is who will visit this school? And I think everyone here is very aware of who that VIP is.

Yeah, whatever.

I got up and walked out of the room and got in the car when I reached the parking lot.

Then I drove out of the campus while wondering who that VIP guest was and why Colter Academy was full of secrets.

I think my journey in school will be fun and a pain in the ass.
