Chapter 33 The pull

Leaves rustled, dancing on the call of the blowing wind. Besides that, everything remained eerily quiet. Though Selene couldn’t truly be certain, noticing several shadows moving behind some trees.

For the past hours, she kept looking out the window whenever she had the chance. She understood the consequences of her recent actions, but she regretted nothing, seeing as her aunt seemed to have returned to her lively and energetic self.

The woman was currently in the kitchen, while she stayed at the house’s foyer, pretending to sweep the floor, though it was spotless.

A day already pass but there have been no signs of people coming to their place, making her more anxious.

Only when she hears the loud clanking sounds did she snap out of it, nearly causing her to jump in a hurry to the next room to see what happened.
