It was suppose to be simple.
"I know everything"
"What...?"
It was a plan that they had concocted without the others knowing, but who knew that things would go wrong.
So very wrong to the point that they had never even seen it coming.
Then again, they were teenagers.
Teenagers that underestimated someone who was good-very good at covering his tracks over the course of many years.
To think, his own father had somehow anticipated that something would happen.
Only, they had been the only ones unaware of what was truly being hidden. A dirty secret that was hidden within the shadows of the castle all this time.
Waiting to ensnare any hints of the truth before it could be fully revealed. However, to make it worse was he that had led her to them.
Unaware of wh
At first, they assumed Skye was upset over Anberine's disappearance given how low his mood had become. Then came the workload, leaving them to wonder if this had distracted him from doing other things.Except Skye to their relief had managed the stressful job, even though it was a challenge for one person to handle. Something they didn't envy for one moment.Which was why Marcus and Merlia volunteered to help out whenever possible, hoping to allow some burdens to be removed from Skye's shoulders.Sadly, nothing had changed even with the extra help. Skye even now appeared to be a former shadow of himself. Something that angered and irritated Marcus deeply whenever he came across Skye."It hasn't been that long" Skye waved Marcus' words away, not looking the Light Dweller in the face in order to avoid showing any of his true emotions. He already had a lot to deal with, both on a personal level and from
"Don't get me wrong, I don't miss the voice. I just..." Skye pursed his lips as he looked at the scrolls once more with mixed emotions. Ever since that day he awoke to his powers, the voice had been completely silent.Almost as if it had vanished altogether without warning. As a result, it left Skye with a strange sense of emptiness. Like he had lost a part of himself yet knew it was with him but was not able to see or access the voice. Why had the voice even appeared back then only to vanish? Why had he heard Nimue's voice back at the lake? Why had she haunted him with her words? It left him with so many unanswered questions during the six years, things that even with hints would be deemed nonsense. At times Skye would be plagued with dreams that kept him up at various times during the night, dreams that left him paranoid- guessin
Darkness filled the sky like a shroud, Clouds uncovered a blood-red moon that soon turned the world below it into a barren, lifeless land. Trees were seen dead and bare of all vitality, the lands were even filled with grey grass that would break from the slightest touch.Meanwhile the waters reflected the waxing blood-red moon, painting a foreboding yet bone-chilling atmosphere.Staring up, a woman wearing a long white dress contained a stern but determined look. Her blond hair fluttered around her as she stared at the sky, by her sides her hands clenched tightly before movement caught her line of sight.Looking to her left, her blue eyes narrowed now on guard for what would be taking place, the wind immediately howled creating a strong gust to circulate around her and the ones approaching her.A swish noise could be heard near her right hand before the woman bent
"I'll go see what's going on. In the meantime, I should send them some Dyra stones just in case they run out of supplies or are in danger" Skye replied before getting up, his fringe moved slightly from the sudden movement meanwhile his eyes showed that he wasn't going to be swayed."With luck, there should be enough stones even after my visit. If not, we do have some more so I'll pack them for the road" Skye assured himself as he eyed a navy blue stone now being held in his right hand. His eyes softened from how it was created and how the idea came about.Truthfully, he was happy that they could give her some means allowing her to think of anything but her ongoing pain. Otherwise, he dreaded what would happen if she had lost her means of coping.Noth that he would tell anyone of how they were made, however, that didn't mean he couldn't spin a tiny white lie in order to avoid any grief. The last thing
Taking his sword out from its sheath Skye attacked an invader startling them enough to back away in fright, however what made it worse was the sound of a horn greeting their ears.It was then the fighting had slowly stopped leaving the invaders shaken enough to search for the source of the noise, now recognizing it as the Horn of Camelot's royal knights.Skye as he noticed the leader immediately got off his horse and approached the leader who wore only torn but bloody plain clothes. His black eyes shot at the usurper who went towards him in restrained anger."May I ask why you are attacking a Druid Village which has been approved by the kingdom?" Skye asked in a silky tone that left the taller man sneering. Spitting by Skye's left boot the man shook his head."And what do we have here?" the leader said as everyone watched silently, not a single sword was heard except the crackling of some flames whic
"Anberine...?""Are you in there?" Skye called out as his left hand gripping the doorknob tightly, bafflement filled his face as he heard nothing. Still hearing silence his mouth pursed tightly before opening the door."Hey Anberine, why aren't you-?" Skye froze as was he was left stunned to the spot from what he was seeing. His stomach plummeted in horror before his feet finally found the means of moving, only instead of breaking into slow movements he made a mad dash towards Anberine's fallen form. Her haggard hair was covering her shoulders and laid lazily around her pale form, her right hand was laying above her head. Meanwhile, her left hand remained what should have been near her face which had been covered in her black locks. Her white dress looked a little too large for her now lanky form, causing one of her shoulders to be revealed. Her feet remained without shoes causing the chill to
"H-Hey what are you doing to me? Stop it!"Skye yelled mentally as his left hand uncorked the vial despite his protests."What does it look like I'm doing? I'm getting her to drink it" the voice scolded Skye, sounding as if Skye had asked a stupid question causing Skye to flush even more in embarrassment."B-" Looking around the area from the corner of his eyes frantically, he was left relieved that no one was in the room."But why are you holding the vial?" Skye whispered quickly as the vial's contents went into his mouth, causing him to almost gag from what the voice was doing but dared not drink the medicine."If someone cannot drink then you have to feed it to them, surely you should know this by now. What do they call it the mama bird feeding her chick?" Skye's face went beet red as his face was now moving towards Anberine's."
Forcing himself to move, Skye ran towards the curtains to see Anberine looking hunched over while gripping the sheets tightly. Allowing him to see the veins on the back of her hand bulging from how tightly she was gripping them, despite the fact her hair was covering her face and hands.
