Chapter six - Chaos

Two weeks later...

Ariande went home with her family. Everyone was happy. Sydney and Georgina came to visit their sister. Xander had to leave for work so he wasn't at home when the two girls arrived.

" Ariande, how are you and the babies?"Gina hugged.

" We are fine. There's no need to worry. Xander is taking good care of us."

" Sis, I am so happy for you." Sydney said.

" Thank you. You are the best thing that had ever happened to me. You two are my joy. One day,you shall find your dream husband. Someone who will love and cherish. "

" Amen." They both chorused. 

" Where are the babies?" Sydney asked. 

" They're upstairs. Come and see them." They all went to the babies room. Sydney was awestruck with how large and beautiful the room was.

Gina was not left out. She walked round the room, admiring every little thing. Some she hasn't seen in her life. These children were so lucky to have a rich man as a father.

Sydney was a little jealous. She wasn't given all these toys as they were poor to afford it. She wished to get married to a rich man too.

" Your babies are beautiful. The boy looks just like Xander while the girl looks like you" Gina commented.

" Yeah," Ariande agreed.

"Ariande..." Gina called.

" Hmm"

" Don't be angry. But I have something to ask you."

" What is it?"

" What if, I mean, how would you feel if Xander were to cheat on you?" Gina's question was like a bombshell. Ariande became angry but she later calmed down.

" What made you say that?" Ariande asked.

" I have noticed that his mother doesn't like you" Gina dropped another bombshell.

" Enough Gina!" Ariande exclaimed to the surprise of the two girls." At first you asked how I will feel if my husband were to cheat on me now you are telling me that my mother-in-law hates me. For goodness sake, who is feeding you with all these crap,huh?"

" Well I am just telling you how I feel."

" Then keep your feeling to yourself if they are only out to hurt others." Ariande said and left the room. Sydney went to hold Gina.

" Why did you say all those things?, You knew they would hurt sis." Sydney said. She hated it when Ariande and Gina fought.

" I have a bad feeling about these people. They act strange. Especially Xander's mother, she hardly go out in the sun. She doesn't eat vegetables. She walks faster than a normal human being."

" What are you trying to tell me, that she's a ...?. Oh my God!"

" Yes. That's what I am thinking but I am not sure yet. I hope my doubts are wrong. I hope they are not vampire."

AN UNKNOWN PLACE

A few people were gathered in a huge palace. A man, who must be a high priest, stood up to speak.

"My queen, history has repeated itself under your watch. Your son has got married to a human, my queen, and she has delivered his children. This is chaos in our land." The man,Eribus, spoke in grief.

" Eribus, I understand what is going on but my son doesn't know his origin. How can I tell him about the calamity?" Queen Kate explained.

" You are the cause of this problem. So you are to find solution to it. Either the girl becomes one of us or their marriage should be broken off."

" Give me time. Once my son clocks 28 years, his real identity will be known."

" I will plead to the gods on your behalf. I pray they listen to me.""

Thank you,Eribus." Queen Kate said as Eribus bowed before taking his leave.

" My queen, when are you leaving for the human world." A girl named Shira asked.

" Tonight. Xander will be transformed in three weeks time. I will arrange your marriage with him so that I can save our kind."

" This is good news,my queen. I can't wait to become Xander's bride."She happily left the throne room. Shira is a vampire. She is 100 years old but the fact that vampire doesn't age made her look like a teenager. Queen Kate and her father had been friends for ages. This friendship could have led to marriage but along the line Kate fell in love with a human.

Dylan, Shira's father secretly loved Kate.He was always there when she needed him. He was like a brother to her but unfortunately, Kate didn't have the same feelings for him.

"Kate, are you sure you want to marry him." Dylan asked Kate one night when they were under a tree.

" Yes Dylan. I love him. I want to marry him. I can't do without him." Those words were like daggers that pierce deep in his heart. Dylan had always found it difficult to express his feelings. For centuries, he had bottled up his feelings saying to himself that it wasn't time to let her know.

Now,it was too late to tell her. She had found her love elsewhere and the worst thing is that she fell for a human.

" You know that your love is forbidden in our kingdom. Humans are weak beings and there will be consequences." Dylan tried to convince her to give up her love but it failed.

" But I can't stop loving him. I just can't."

" If calamity befalls the land,you won't be spared by the people. They will attack you and oppose rulership. You wouldn't want that." Dylan said but it all fell on deaf ears.
