Chapter 7. Hiking

Sage’s POV

Corbin and I walk for a while in silence.

It feels warm out, which means later my skin will be sizzling under the heat.

I should’ve put on sun screen. Oops.

As we walk side by side, I can’t help but wonder if Corbin has ever been sun burnt or if he even carries sun screen.

Since I grew up in the mountains with just my immediate family, it’s safe to say I didn’t grow up very diverse.

Hell, I don’t even know if people of his skin tone even is capable of getting sun burnt.

“Kehlani has spoken highly of you,” he comments, stepping over a rock so he doesn’t roll his ankle.

I smile, she’s always nice, I feel as if she doesn’t have a mean bone in her body.

“What has she said?”

A smirk settles on his plump, full lips, “she’s said that you enjoy reading and you love to swim,” he bumps me with his shoulder as if to say ‘I told you so’.
