LOGINAndrea's Point of View
For a few seconds I just stand there, staring at him, not sure how to feel, but then a rush of emotions crashes through me all at once. Shock; confusion; hurt; betrayal; blinding anger and white hot rage. The rage and anger quickly take over, filling my entire being. “Well, this is cozy....” I say, my voice dripping with sarcasm. His eyes snap towards me, and for a second, he just stares at me. The girl looks between us, a frown on her face, but she doesn't say anything. “Am I interrupting something? Because it certainly looks like I am.” I ask, raising an eyebrow at him. He finally pulls away from her with a sigh, running a hand through his hair. “Andrea...” “No.” I cut him off, my eyes narrowing at him. “Don’t you Andrea me.” I take a step closer, my fists clenching at my sides. “What the hell is going on here?” I ask and he rolls his eyes at me, like I am the one being unreasonable. “Just calm down, would you? You’re making a scene.” He says and I stare at him in disbelief. “A scene?” I ask, letting out a short, humorless laugh. “Oh, I'm sorry. Should I have waited until you finished making out with her before asking what the hell is going on?” I hiss at him and he glares at me. "Actually, yeah, that would have been nice, since you can clearly see that you're interrupting us." He snaps and for a few seconds I can't help but just stare at him with my mouth open. "Excuse me? That is all you have to say to me?" I ask, my entire body trembling with rage. I feel my heart constricting in pain, and I can't help but wonder how he could do this to me, after last night... “You’re unbelievable.” I mutter, shaking my head and he frowns at me. He sighs, clearly irritated, and somehow, that hurts even more than seeing him with her. He straightens himself before he turns to face me fully. “Look, you're making this a much bigger deal than it needs to be.” I blink at him, completely stunned. “A bigger deal?” I ask, my voice barely above a whisper at first, but the anger quickly takes over again and my voice rises. “What the hell did you expect?” I ask, taking another step towards him, my eyes burning with tears and rage. “How else am I supposed to act after finding my mate making out with someone else while I was left all alone in your bed? Tell me! How exactly am I supposed to react to that?” I ask, my voice rising with every word until I'm practically yelling at him. “Andrea, calm down.” He says and my eyes flash at him. “Don't tell me to calm down!” I growl out, pointing at him, my entire body trembling. “What the hell is wrong with you? Why are you doing this?” I swallow hard, my voice cracking just slightly as I force the next words out. “I'm your mate.” For a moment, he simply looks at me, then he shrugs. I frown, completely taken aback by his reaction. “What is that supposed to mean?” I ask, my voice quieter now. He sighs irritably, rubbing the back of his neck. “Oh, come on, Andrea.” He looks at me as though I'm exhausting him. “Last night was fun. You're great in bed and everything, but I'm barely eighteen. I don't want or need a mate right now.” He says simply and my heart drops. “Then why did you lead me on?” I ask, staring at him and he shrugs again. “I just wanted to experience being with you at least once. They say being with your mate is great, and they were right.” He pauses, completely casual about the words that are slowly destroying me. “Besides, I thought it would be fun. No one has been able to get you into bed, and I couldn't let the chance go by.” He says, shrugging again, as if this isn't a big deal. As if he hasn't just ripped my heart from my chest and crushed it under his feet. I stare at him, unable to form a single word. My hand slowly flies up to cover my mouth as my lips begin to tremble. I bite down on my lower lip, desperately trying to hold back the tears burning behind my eyes. I refuse to cry. Not in front of him. Not when he's looking at me like last night meant absolutely nothing. "Raf, what are you doing man? Stop." Jed says quietly and Rafeal frowns at him.. "This doesn't concern you, just stay out if it." He snaps at him. Jed frowns and opens his mouth to say something, but I stop him with my hand, giving him a small smile. "It's fine." I murmur before turning my attention back to Rafeal. "So you're saying that you only used me for a night of fun? You screwed me over and played me just for the fun of it?" I ask, my voice cold. He flinches and looks away. "Don't say it like that." He mutters and I laugh sarcastically. "Oh, so it bothers you when I talk about it like it didn't matter?" I shake my head. "I can't believe I'm this stupid. I actually believed everything you said last night..." My voice breaks and I take a deep breath, trying to gather myself. "God... I'm so stupid.." I mumble, annoyed I wipe at the tears that managed to escape down my cheek. I see Lizzy trying to approach me, but I take a step back from her, shaking my head. "No, don't. I'm fine." I say, giving her a small smile. I take another deep breath before turning to look at Rafeal "Okay, I'm ready. Let's get it over with." I say looking at Rafael and he frowns at me, clearly confused. "Get what over with?" He asks and I sigh. "You don't want a mate right? So, just reject me already so we can get this over with quickly." I say firmly and I see the shock flashing across his face. "Wait... What?" He asks. He looks at Jed for help but Jed shakes his head. "I'm staying out of it, remember?" He says and Rafeal looks back at me with a frown. "I didn't... That wasn't..." He trails off, shaking his head and I scoff. It's clear he didn't expect me to react this way, but what did he think? That I was going to beg him to not do this? To give us a chance? I scoff internally, shaking my head. That is never happening, I deserve more than this. "So, are you doing this or not?" I ask. He opens his mouth, but he hesitates and I sigh. "I don't see the need for us to drag this out more than we have too. You said that you didn't want me, your mate. So, reject me." I say, proud of how firm my voice sounds. His frowns deepens and he looks between me and Jed. "I'm waiting." I say, and his eyes snap back to me, annoyance flashing through them. "Fine... If that is what you want." He snaps and I nod my head. "It is." I say firmly and he frowns before he shakes his head. "Fine. I, Rafael Knox, from the Crescent Shadow pack reject you, Andrea Marshall, as my fated mate and future luna of my pack." As soon as he says the words, I feel a tug at my heart. I gasp loudly, bending over as white hot pain rips through me. Rafael reaches for me, but I growl and shake my head, moving away from him. "Don't you dare touch me." I threatened him, my glare rooting him to his spot. I take deep breath, straightening before I speak. "I, Andrea Marshall, accept your rejection, Rafael Knox of the Crescent Shadow pack, as your fated mate and future luna." I gasp again as I feel the bond between us snap, the pain this time almost knocking me off of my feet. Rafael clutches the counter tightly, his knuckles turning white and there is pain written all over his face. I steady my breathing, and pull back my shoulders. "I hope you have a happy life, Rafael, just know that someday you will regret what you just did to me." I say quietly and without waiting for a response I turn around and rush out of the kitchen, trying to get away from him before the tears fall. I won't let him see me cry. I rush outside, with Lizzy and and Jed following me. I come to a stand outside, trying to take deep breaths and calm myself down. Lizzy wraps her arms around me, hugging me tightly. "Are you okay?" She asks softly but before I can say anything she shakes her head. "Stupid question. I'm so sorry, Andy." She murmurs and I shrug. "It is what it is, and it's not your fault.." I say pulling away from her. I turn and look Jed. "Would you mind taking me home, now?" I ask quietly. He gives me a sad smile and nods his head. "Of course. Come on, let's get you girls home." He says leading us to his car. He opens the door for Lizzy before he opends the back door for me. I feel someone's eyes one me and I glance over my shoulder, back at the house. My eyes lock with Rafael's, who is standing in the door, watching me. For a crazy second I think, no I hope, he comes rushing out, apologizing for what happened but, pf course, he doesn't. He just continues to stares at me. I shake my head and I sigh, and without looking at him again I quickly slip into Jed's car.Rafael's Point of View Somewhere along the way, the children started getting tired. Haley had been full of energy when we first left the packhouse, asking questions about everything she saw and pointing excitedly towards the border. But after a while, her little voice became quieter. Now she's leaning against me, her arms wrapped around my neck. "Daddy?" "Hmm?" "Are we almost home?" I smile. "Getting tired?" She shakes her head immediately. "No." I laugh softly. "Of course not." "I'm just resting my eyes." Rick chuckles from beside me. "That's what my son said ten minutes ago." I glance over at Jackson, who is sitting in front of Rick on the four-wheeler, his head already drooping. "Looks like we've worn them out." Rick nods. "I think it's time we call it a day." The children protest, but neither of them has enough energy left to argue for long. "We'll do it again." I promise Haley. "Really?" "Really." She smiles sleepily. "Okay." By the time we reach the p
Rafael’s Point of View.I stare at the children playing in the corner of my office, barely paying attention to the papers scattered across my desk."Rafael, are you listening?"Jed asks with a frown. My head snaps in his direction."Excuse me?""I asked if you're listening."He raises an eyebrow."Which, clearly, you're not."I shake my head and run a hand through my hair."No, sorry. Go ahead.""Never mind."He sighs."Have you talked to her?""Who?"I ask, looking down at the papers in front of me.Jed gives me a look."Don't act like you don't know who I'm talking about. Andrea. Have you talked to her?"I sigh."No, I haven't.""Why not?"Rick asks, crossing his arms over his chest."I don't know what to say.""How about you apologize?""I know."I sigh again."But I don't know where to start."I look down at my desk."And I don't know if she'll even listen to me.""So you're not even going to try?"Rick asks."Of course I am."I look at him."I just thought I'd give her the day."
Andrea's Point of View I groan as I roll over, reaching for my phone on the nightstand to shut off the alarm screaming at me. When it is finally quiet I run my hands down my face, before staring up at the ceiling. I don't think I've slept all that much last night. Luckily, Haley had a sleepover with Jackson, so at least I don't have to worry about getting her ready for the day. If I'm being completely honest, I don't want to get myself ready for this girls' day out either. With Haley occupied, all I want to do is to stay in bed and feel sorry for myself. I lift my phone to look at the time and I sigh again before forcing myself out of bed and heading into the bathroom to start the day. Twenty minutes later, someone is hammering loudly on my bedroom door. "I'm coming! I'm coming! Stop trying to break down my door!" I yell, as I grabbing my things before making my way to the door. I quickly open it, and Lizzy standing there with her arm raised to knock again. She slowly low
Rafael's Point of View I take another sip from the glass in my hand, staring down at the amber liquid. I can't bring myself to go downstairs for dinner. I don't think I can face Andrea right now. I sigh and run my hand through my hair before resting my head against the back of my chair. Her words keep playing over and over in my head. You're supposed to be on my side. I close my eyes. She's right. I know she's right. I just didn't know how to handle the situation without making things worse. I think about what she said about Addison touching me. I know I should have stopped her. But over the years, I've become so accustomed to Addison talking to me, touching my arm, standing too close, that I barely even register it anymore. I always just ignored it. My father constantly told me not to be rude to her. Not to embarrass her. Not to make her feel unwanted. He always said it would set a bad example for the pack. But now I'm wondering why. Why did he care so much about A
Andrea's Point of ViewI shake my head, staring at Rafael."Seriously?"I let out a disbelieving laugh, but there is nothing funny about this."Okay, yes. I know I didn't react very well to the situation."I throw my hands up."But what did you expect me to do? I can't stand her, Rafael. She was deliberately trying to get a rise out of me."I shake my head, my anger growing with every word."And she got one. I'll admit that. I should have handled it better. I could have been more diplomatic, and maybe I should have just walked away. But I'm not sorry for being angry."I say firmly and Rafael frowns at me."Andrea...""No. I'm not finished."I cut him off. My voice cracks slightly, but I force myself to keep going."I am not sorry for how I acted. If anyone knew what happened between us, they would understand why I react the way I do when she is around. But you know what the problem is?"I take a step toward him."You are. Because she is trying to make me look like a terrible person, a
Andrea's Point of ViewI laugh and shake my head at Rafael and Haley, who are chasing each other around as we make our way toward the ice cream shop."Come and get me, slow poke!"Haley yells at her father before taking off as fast as her little legs can carry her.Rafael laughs and starts chasing her."You're going down, little wolf!"I smile, watching them for a moment before something suddenly slams into me, almost knocking me off of my feet.I stumble, but I manage to catch myself before I fall.I look up and see Addison standing in front of me, sneering at me."Can't you ever just watch where you're going?"She snaps at me.I frown, folding my arms over my chest."You slammed into me. Maybe you should watch where you're going."I say coldly. She opens her mouth to answer, but suddenly her entire expression changes when she looks past me.A sweet smile spreads across her face."Is there a problem here?"I hear Rafael ask from behind me.He steps closer, placing his hand on the sma
